One of the big takeaways of this episode (and others where they're at Reed's home), is never purchase a house somewhere there's a homeowners' association. It's very creepy and stepfordy.

It's quite revealing to see these organizations in a country that bases its whole identity on 'freedom'. If a neighbourhood group in Australia tried to pull the stunts that US HOAs do, they'd be laughed at and become the ridicule of the rest of the neighbourhood. I've seen stories of HOAs threatening to evict people because of the colour, or sound of their car! Or getting orders to remove trees that 'detract from the ambience of the community'. Freedom? When your neighbours can dictate the colour of your car and what plants you choose for your yard? I think not.

Ive always liked Jim Cantore. I remember his “snow lightening” or something that he was just going NUTS about nad it was really cute lol. This was before i knew of Reed tho. Cantore is iconic.
i had a friend who was sadly one of the deaths in this storm i miss him every day and i hope that all the family’s that were effected by this storm and i hope there doing well same with mayfield i hope everyone is ok and reed i would pay attention to the weather this December cuz it feel like last year and mayfield got hit so i am just looking out for ppl❤

Your passion for the power mother nature continues to portray is intoxicating and contagious. You helped me to gain a passion that I have never given up. I am now a teacher and I enjoy teaching my students about the weather early on. 4-5 year olds really enjoy this! Who knew!!
These guys are great! They're like watching boys be kids again. The way they chase something so deadly to keep us safe is overwhelming. Im thankful for them.
I've always wondered how it would have played out for them chasing that tornado in Moore. Probably one of the biggest "what if" questions in weather history.
Storm chasers prefer to chase tornado in the countryside where its easier to see from a distance compared to a city or suberb where its harder to see a tornado another factor is traffic when a tornado occurs road are close and cars start to pile up preventing to get up-close to the tornado. In the end no one expected the tornado to be that violent let alone an EF5 and become one of two tornado of 2013 with the latter they where present for.
The fact that you had this series going for both the Moore tornado AND El Reno and captured both of them is insane. This was a great series, hopefully they bring it back one day

This is an amazing show. I love the way even the neighbour comes in and looks after Reed. He is a lucky guy to have people love his almost child like joy. He is so focused on his job, which is amazing, I'm so jealous, I would love to have that job. But it's so funny how everyone is doing everything for him, cos they know he is not seeing anything but storms. A great bunch of people who have become a family. Cancelling this show was a bad move. I wish I could have seen it at the time. We don't get much of this kind of tv in the uk xx
impressed by the weathermen's skills of being able to point to a blank screen exactly where they mean like they have an imaginary version pasted over it. Years of practice I guess. You just *know* what part of the screen is where on the greenscreen.
I believe they can see a screen with the graphics on it. If you notice when they’re pointing at things on the graphic, they’re usually looking off to the side. I think each side has a screen showing themselves and the graphic, so it’s just a matter of getting used to knowing where to point on one side and looking at what you’re pointing at on another side. Hopefully that makes sense. ☺️
@@SoonerStateSirens1 No, they were taking what with any other Tornado would have been a safe route. However, El Reno was a unique animal and it both expanded from a mile to 2.6 and then hook over them at the same time. There were a bunch of chasers that got caught by surprise. They just had slightly better cars and survived though there was one guy ( I forget his name) who was in a truck and he died too.
FUCK I laughed at that, good thing there's four wheels! Their lack of reaction though. I suppose, when you spend the days looking up the barrel of a tornado, that's just minor.:D

Jennifer Frederiksen HOA doesn't care about what they do, they care about EVERYONE in the neighborhood being able to enjoy a quiet morning, and not a yard party/traffic jam on their normally quiet neighborhood streets. You agree to certain things when you buy a house in an area coveered by HOA, and if you can't do that, you should live somewhere else. Doesnt matter if you are a television/youtube sensation. (Btw, I do NOT live in a HOA neighborhood, lol)

I was driving from Arizona to Ohio in my $500 dollar 92 Silverado and I blew out a bearing in Newton, KS, got my truck towed to Meridian Fleet Service and the weather was nuts there, the mechanic let me use his lift and we ended outside watching the tornado out there it was nuts

Wow, stay safe guys! And I hope everyone is okay! Kinda cool that Gary England is still the meteorologist for Oklahoma! And what’s odd is the camera that is pointed at the tornado is the same one that filmed the 5-2013 tornadoes, and the May 1999 tornado.

This is an amazing show. I love the way even the neighbour comes in and looks after Reed. He is a lucky guy to have people love his almost child like joy. He is so focused on his job, which is amazing, I'm so jealous, I would love to have that job. But it's so funny how everyone is doing everything for him, cos they know he is not seeing anything but storms. A great bunch of people who have become a family. Cancelling this show was a bad move. I wish I could have seen it at the time. We don't get much of this kind of tv in the uk xx

impressed by the weathermen's skills of being able to point to a blank screen exactly where they mean like they have an imaginary version pasted over it. Years of practice I guess. You just *know* what part of the screen is where on the greenscreen.
I believe they can see a screen with the graphics on it. If you notice when they’re pointing at things on the graphic, they’re usually looking off to the side. I think each side has a screen showing themselves and the graphic, so it’s just a matter of getting used to knowing where to point on one side and looking at what you’re pointing at on another side. Hopefully that makes sense. ☺️

@@SoonerStateSirens1 No, they were taking what with any other Tornado would have been a safe route. However, El Reno was a unique animal and it both expanded from a mile to 2.6 and then hook over them at the same time. There were a bunch of chasers that got caught by surprise. They just had slightly better cars and survived though there was one guy ( I forget his name) who was in a truck and he died too.

Those suction vortices are incredibly intense. That was likely 150mph as it was dancing.

Jennifer Frederiksen HOA doesn't care about what they do, they care about EVERYONE in the neighborhood being able to enjoy a quiet morning, and not a yard party/traffic jam on their normally quiet neighborhood streets. You agree to certain things when you buy a house in an area coveered by HOA, and if you can't do that, you should live somewhere else. Doesnt matter if you are a television/youtube sensation. (Btw, I do NOT live in a HOA neighborhood, lol)

I was driving from Arizona to Ohio in my $500 dollar 92 Silverado and I blew out a bearing in Newton, KS, got my truck towed to Meridian Fleet Service and the weather was nuts there, the mechanic let me use his lift and we ended outside watching the tornado out there it was nuts

This is the final season of SC. Joel passed away a year or so ago. And you realize how much the maintainance on the Dominator fleet is....pretty dang pricey
