- Опубликовано: 7 май 2019
- Reed and the Dominator team journey north to Kansas. They meet Tim Samaras, Paul Samaras and Carl Young from team Twistex during the storm chase before coming face-to-face with a mile-wide wedge tornado. The intense rain from the storm turns the roads to mud and traps the Dominator in the tornado's path. Features the May 27, 2013 tornado east of Cora, KS.
Season Two, Episode Nine of the award-winning series Tornado Chasers, Remastered in 4K Ultra High Definition video.
Tim Samaras and crew had no idea they only had 4 days left on this earth. Should be a lesson to all of us to do what we love and live every day like it's the last because we never know.
true
@M Strafford yeah they are
@M Strafford they were the first three storm chasers to be killed by a tornado and that tornado that killed them also killed an amateur storm chasers. The tornado was the 2013 El Reno tornado which is the widest tornado on record
@M Strafford not reed timmer it’s the twistex team we’re talking about
@M Strafford welcome
Watching Reed and the boys yell at storms and eat vinegar chips will never grow old.
Especially when "Mister Lightning hater" is with them 😂

Really sad to see Tim and Carl on some of their last days. Also really cool to see them doing exactly what they loved, though
They will always be remembered
Jops I I I I didn’t know they passed omg

@@yama667 Idiot.
So much emotion seeing the Twistex team in this episode. I love the passion they shared.
Recently had to go to Oklahoma on emergency. Took my family to see the Memorial on Reuter Rd. It was very muddy and very wet. I was in my F150 in 4x4. I was telling my wife about how they were in a Chevy cobalt. We were all over the road doing a measly 25-30. I can’t even begin to imagine what they were experiencing going 50-60mph+
I saw a picture of the cobalt. It was wrapped around a pole of some kind. A truly horrific scene.
@@mary4011 yeh I wish I wouldn't have looked up the wreckage. The car wasn't even recognizable. It was essentially pancaked. Absolutely horrible.
Hey Reed, you are awesome for archiving this show on youtube for generations of stormchasers to come. Double thumbs up.
Your right 😉
Reed = The reason they invented Automatic Volume Leveling on TV's... He's an awesome chaser + good guy. Keep it up man.
R.I.P TIM SAMARAS AND TEAM TWISTX I MISS HIM SO MUCH NICE TO HEAR HIS VOICE AFTER YEARS AND SEEING HIM IN ACTION IN THIS VIDEO 😐😔

two thing:
1. Gizmo was PISSED Reed left her behind.
2. It's never easy knowing Joel is gone for good, but seeing the Twistex team again makes me even worse for the wear emotionally
I knew one of Joel's cousins. His death caused a shitstorm. She's still upset about it. I also met his grandmother. Nice lady.
The genuine love and appreciation that Reed has for other great people in the field is a joy to see. RIP Tim, Carl and Paul.
Oh man! Got chills when I saw Tim’s car. RIP legends Tim, Paul & Carl.
icon stfu 😐😐
@icon dude stfu, not real smart living in a state where you’d lose your house everyday by tornadoes. So you better be lucky that people like Tim, Paul, Carl, and even Richardson did actually chase storms like tornadoes for data to save ungrateful people like you. Otherwise, you can perish within an category 4 hurricane.
@@LIAA23423 learn English bum
@icon I know this is two years ago but you’re an insensitive prick bro. They were never intending to get as close as they did, they weren’t chasing to get as close as they did, they were dropping probes and gtfo. A subvortex landed right near them with EF5 winds. They didn’t stand a chance even if they were in an armored car it would have gotten sucked up. Id like to see you race a tornado with 200 mph+ winds. What a pos you are dude.
El Reno was a monster tornado there's no other way to describe it but that shot of Tim Samaras standing next to Reed and the dominator gives me chills every time cause if Tim had of had a vehicle like the dominator instead of the car they had he'd probably be alive today
Man there they are Tim, Paul, and Carl. It's heartbreaking. When I first saw them I choked. You just never know.
I’m glad that Reed had a chance to speak to Tim and Carl and have a kind exchange before what happened in El Reno.
So.......are we going to really ignore how cute that puppy is at the beginning?
Seeing this scene with Tim and Carl, it reminds of a scene in a season 3 episode of Storm Chasers. The one where Reed and his crew got their very first intercept near Lincoln, Nebraska but the tornadoes winds blew out their windows. Tim and Carl and their colleague drove up to them afterwards to make sure they were okay. Full respect ✊
I just got so sick to my stomach with tears in my eyes knowing this is the last few days of Tim, Paul and Carl. Such a legend! I remember when he first started posting online his chases and photos. I was so enthralled with meteorology and he made it interesting and fun to learn.
Thank you for bringing back these episodes. They're very sad though as we remember Joel, Tim, Carl and Paul in their element.
Damn, rest in peace Tim, Carl, and Paul, they passed in the El Reno, OK tornado that occurred four days after this on May 31st, 2013. God bless their families.
You take your life in your hands doing this stuff
Wow seeing Tim and Carl just out and about storm chasing is just so extremely sad! These guys were so loved by the chaser community and their fan base. Horrible tragedy
@ZionHillCalling There are no PHDs for surviving great white sharks. These people did this for a living, they knew everything there was to know about what they were doing, and a storm took them by suprise.
And yes I know these people didn't have PHD'S but they did have plentiful training and worked with the NWS
JoAnn Hempen - stfu no idea
@ZionHillCalling really, have some respect for twistex they were researching lightning strikes when they were caught off guard by that wedge if they were chasing they would be using their proper tools

Every year on May 27th I watch this tornado chasers episode. Emotional to see Reed meet Tim, Paul, and Carl for the last time 4 days before they lost their lives.
Sad thing of this is Tim, Paul, and Carl lost their lives four days later in the El Reno tornado. Nice to see them enjoying chasing them in the last few days they were alive. RIP Twistex. Thanks for sharing this Reed. I have seen another storm chaser(I cant remember who)has them in a video inside a McDonalds a couple days before they were killed.
That was eerie seeing Tim, Paul and Carl. If they only knew.
RIP HEARTBREAKING
Is it just me or was that tornado's development eerily similar to the infamous one they'd encounter four days later?
Not just you.
Definitely. Anti climatic at first, then sudden and violent
Been watching reed since I was a kid maybe 8 or 9 on discovery channel I'm 21 now and still watching him
Same, im nearly 17 now
R.I.P tim and carl. They were really brave men, and its sad they got stuck in mud chasing a tornado. The tornado changed path and was going there direction. They were trying there hardest to get unstuck. You guys will always be remembered.
I grew up watching you guys, just stumbled on your stuff again 10 years later. Thank you for all the lessons and memories you've given me. Much love. Rip Tim and the TWISTEX team. Broke my heart when that happened.
It’s nice to see how Reed chilled out some in later years,
Was watching reruns of his first season in Discovery’s Storm Chasers, and I was struck by how:..pardon my saying so, but how cocky he seemed back then.
I guess wisdom really does come with time & experience
Wow. Just four days before we lost the TwistX team. Gave me chills to see.
Stranded is right. We’re stranded between humor and grief when we watch Reed’s last videos before the Twistex team died. Really brings up the emotions.
Reed just casually screaming “EAST EAST GO NORTH” and he calls them violent but like did you expect the tornado to be like “Aight boi’s I feel like being nice today” like my dude
The way Tim Samaras was backlit was eerily ethereal.
Ugh this is probably the last time Reed saw Tim and Carl :(
You know that there is a tornado any minute when somebody says, "The roads are drier the dry".
you can actually pinpoint the second when lots of people's hearts broke!

17:10 to 19:25 is the funniest thing ever lmao! Reed is the best! 😂
lol for real that was funny as fuck.. but also right after that when Reed is talking about the coyotes.. that was funny as hell too.. the way he was acting and looking.. that was funny to me
The reason I say that is because a tornado chasing day would be the craziest day ever for me.. I wouldn't be talking about anything else.. and here Reed is talking about coyotes and clearly showing his excitement for that.. and that's all because tornado chasing is so normal for him lolol..

I took an online animation class with Paul back in 2007 or 2008. We kept in touch and talked often over facebook. Never missing a message to each other on our birthdays. I was absolutely SHOCKED when I learned what had happened. I honestly had no idea who his Dad was, what he did, or that Paul was involved in this stuff. I only knew Paul as a "classmate".
