Fantastic job explaining all the new nuances of press fitting and the tools and fittings etc with Andy and I'm not even a plumber thumbs up
i've seen a rems gun survive a couple of good launches across a plant room, very sturdy. can't beat them for larger press work
Hi Pete currently I’m doing my level 2 plumbing course and il get my qualifications on may 2020 and definitely I’m going to buy Remes one for sure like the colour and shape 💐👍🏼❤️ thanks for video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤️
Top video & very helpful. Clearly much quicker than soldering and never needing a hot works permit either.
Really informative guys. There's a lot to take on when buying one. Cheers 👍👍
Really helpful informative video chaps!
Couple of points you missed out re the Novopress, the green led lights on the trigger all light up after each pressing to confirm a correct press, they don’t if the correct pressure hasn’t been achieved. Very useful for peace of mind.
You can use the machine whilst its standing upright, leaving both hands free, useful for a first press on loose pipe before fitting to the installation carcass.
For 15mm to 28mm Novopress is fab. Ive also had Rems right up to 54mm on slings. Cumbersome for domestic.
Great video yet again. Well done some think that did pop in to my very empty head. Tell me to do one if think stupid but would they be able to be converted ( by the manufacture ) to be able to cut copper pipes say for ripping out to recycle of course. A-bit like what firefighters use on cars. Always remind me of them. Well done again
Cost of the gun doesn't put me off. Just can't justify £200 for bag and a half of 22mm tees
Subscribed mate! Keep up the good work, your videos are awesome! 👍
Hi Peter, thank for the video, very informative and covered many questions i had.
Please, can you make a video about freezing machines? Thank you.
very knowledgeable and friendly 🤘😎🤘
Andy is a good lad.
Sorted me out with a deal on a Saturday when he was out with the wife and kids. Recommend pressit all day
Great video Pete 👍
Thanks guys
I’m in the USA and have the Milwaukee M12 (Novapress) the Ridgid C1 kit works on the M12 tool as close quarters jaw/adapters
Are the milwaukee propress tools any good? Looking at the 12v as it looks lightweight...do they struggle with larger pipes. Cheers Bill
So just the rems does mlcp or all of them? Is it a good idea to ask my nearest supplies if they sell any kind of pressfit fittings. In other videos I heard about m and x press but you spoke about v press. I'm now confused and I don't know what to buy. I want something that can press copper and mlcp just by changing tha jaws (possibly the best)
My preferable crimper for domestic is the geberit mini crimper.Hands down.Novopress Geberit Aco103 Mapress Kit 12V Battery Xpress Press Tool
Great video! I’m seriously look to buy a press machine. Thanks for this. I’m from
Northern Ireland so any any freebies. It will be most welcome lol
We have a branch in Duncrue. Order your machine online and next day delivery 📦
Great video as always. My local plumbers merchant have offed me a Z-press, M-profile press-fit kit for £650+vat have or anyone else had any experience with them?
Thanks Pete, I personally also love the REMS, only the price of the jaws are quite prohibitive
Can you link me the makita battery compatible one intrested in taking a look 👍 great vid
I'd avoid the rothenberber, I bought the compact TT and although it was great to start with after 6 months it started to slow down and now doesn't work at all. Went back to city plumbing where I bought it twice and got nowhere so just junk now!
Just wondered do you have a link to the klauke that uses the makita battery please
I got the m12 milwaukee and it looks the same as the one that takes m12 on the table. Same manufacturer im guessing.
Gutted I missed this still grafting.
Do you know if they are bringing out angle jaws for the nova press
I was told a year ago they are working on it but still nothing so maybe I need to buy a Rems too
Novopress keep putting the release date back. However rems have them now. And Novopress look like may
The thing I find most interesting is plumbers will swear by press fittings and have endless number of concerns and complaints about sharkbite fittings, the truth of the matter is both rely on o rings for the seal which o rings are the main complaint about sharkbite so why aren't they a concern with press fit? Honestly just about every single plumbing fixture known to man uses o rings so there argument is not only stupid but totally unfounded in any sort of reason, I use either and have only had a single issue where an o ring was missing and had to get another fitting to replace it.
Can you use gas fittings on water pipes?
For clarification, the rems rocutter fits in the novapress.
Great video, I really want a to get my first press fit gun but still not sure which one to go for?? Any input guys??
Rems or Novopress
Novopress for domestic
I have the old 14.4v rems how much for replacement batteries?
For all those griping about the cost of 22mm fittings.... Wait until you are frequently working 28mm and above. Time and fittings cost make a massive difference.
Never got on with REMs. Always sounds like they're breaking when. You use them. Suppose the 45 degree adapters are handy. I use their m10 rode cutter head in my novapress machine though. We'll worh it.
Well I was goin go for rems over nova simply because of the angle jaws but if nova are bringing their own out looks like santa be bringing me a novapress
Hi Pete, is this the same Andy that used to be at the Northern Ireland repair centre? Nice chap!
Correct. We still have the repair shop also
Have you tried the REMS 578015 S Mini Press !
So can you undo a press fitting? Like you can unsweat a soldered fitting? Seem awfully bulky to me aswell..
No u can’t sorry
Hi, do you have any clue who made the REMS battery?
I have heard Rems jaws can work on the viega tools is this true?
Does Rothenberger make one that'll work with the AMPShare/Bosch 18v platform?
Wish you had given him a microphone PB
Is the milwaukee press tool better then the novopress? Or is it same tool different badge? Cheers Bill
Novopress make the press tool for Milwaukee mate
My rothenberger TT fail 3 tiomes every time in january ... 3 times in service cost me 300 each... im using conex maxi pro B fittings for airconditioning, Whao other tool i can use with rothenberger jaws ??
Love my novapress i got from andy back in febuary, cant wate to get some angle jaws for it, ill deffo be ordering them from andy!
Are they good for boiler installs mate? Looking to purchase one
@@RC-yh2wk very much so bud in the past year of having it every boiler I've done has been with it as well as rads tbh any pipe work has been done in press.
Although I do like press tools it's a pain to have them sent off to be calibrated as I feel like you end up needing two, the second to cover the week when the first is away, same as my gas analyzer. Otherwise you find yourself unable to do some works if they're places that refuse hot works etc. Sometimes I feel like we should follow the american pex system instead.
Hi I thought REM’s had bought out an in-line press tool like the Nova press ??
They have but I don’t really like it. Very long. U would be better with the Novopress is u want a straight version
Hi I have a mini press only 4 months old and it had to be calibrated is this a norm ?
That doesn’t sound correct however every tool can have a fault. Give us a shout
Hi how much is the rems with a set of jaws please
Dose the rothenberger jaw fit the nova ?
Alpha Press also uses Makite. Cracking tool for the price!!
Do you have one ? How have you found it ? Is it reliable?
Can you press V-fittings with an M jaw?
Anybody used the zupper models?
Where do you find the link to Andy please
www.Pressit.uk
How long do the O rings (inside the copper fittings) last, don't want to be back to an install a few years later to fix a leak (we all know soldering lasts decades)
25 year warranty if installed correctly! 👍
I have a Novopress 103 with fixed head. I use U profile on MLPC not TH !
Bought a rothenberger tt compact. Every month it just stops pressing and has to go back to rothenberger. They send me a brand new one. One month later it stops pressing. I'm on my 4th new gun. Am I doing something wrong or what 🤔
what you keep doing wrong is.... you keep using rothenberger, buy a different brand, I'm sure you know this saying..... "fool me once shame on you, fool me 4 times well".......)
@@theunknown1426 well I'm committed to the rothenberger m u & th jaw profiles now 🤦♂️
I’d suggest u most, sell what u have. 4 times ain’t productive for u.
Mine doing exact same thing, I've got fed up of it and it's complete junk now. Didn't last even a year and I now have to buy another one. For the price of it complete shit, worst tool I've ever bought!
@@davidflorence3032I called Rotherberger and asked for a full refund and they offered to upgrade me to the romax 4000 free of charge. It's a bit of a beast but has been reliable so far
the rothenburger you are showing is a lower older shape model
Looks like a Dewalt Press Fit Tool has landed in th US
personally Rems is no1
main reason is completely sealed no vents so nothing could drop in motor plus more reliable electronic than Novapress
Hi Pete, is PRESS IT still trading? Thanks in advance.
Can you press fit a 22mm press fitting onto 3/4 pipe?
I don't know what the official line is but I've done it and it was solid and didn't leak.
Really smart machines but the fittings are really expensive and really overly sized for what you can compare to an end feed fitting. Also I feel it takes the skill out of plumbing in general
Takes A skill not THE skill.
Insurance companies will cut out hot works in the future. So for me it’s the next thing mainly for safety and it’s been about for 40 years so it’s proven tech
You could say the skill in lead pipe wiping is lost but who wants to wipe a lead pipe fitting these days?
@@SeanNyhc well done
Insurance companies won't give my company public liability insurance for hot works without ridiculous conditions because I haven't worked as a sole trader before. They simply don't want plumbers to do it and if we're honest soldering is an entirely antiquated solution to pipework. Leaves flux in the system, creates a less attractive joint, joints are worse for flow, creates smoke, is a fire hazard, creates turbulence etc. And, let's be honest, soldering isn't difficult at all. It took me all of my second go to solder a joint.
Nova press lol 😆 😂 🤣 😅 looks like Milwaukee copy how much did that cost
you know novopress make the milwaukee press gun for milwaukee don’t you?
Keep thinking hahaha do your homework before you comment bs, Novopress makes guns for Milwaukee 🤣🤣
why did he ignore the milwaukee
I don't mind spending good money on tools but £50 to £60 for a box ?
What box u mean? Angled tong box? We have it thrown in practically
Obviously faster and easier but not very good aesthetically I wouldn’t use them.
nobody knows what a quid is outside of England
Dewalt guns are not as good as Rigid
those jaws don't look anything like they weigh 99 pounds
I can’t tell if your serious of joking 😂
