Midlake, if you guys read this I wanted you 6 to know that I am thrilled with what you created this time around. When I heard Tim left I was worried because I had no idea from the outside looking in how much of what i loved was him. Aniphon is brilliant and moved me immensely. Love it! Missed the Portland show due to serious issues in my life but hope to catch you live next. nate seaside
Couldn't listen to the newer stuff since knowing Tim left, but I'm gradually accepting the fact. Just glad that this is here for us to listen to. Thanks
I feel blessed to have watched those guys in Istanbul. I have a huge appreciation for them including me and my girl friend in the guest list. I'm looking forward to seeing them in either London or Istanbul!
18:27 - he was right to start there I think. How crazy. What a pro to be able to repeat and fix that. Midlake is the best band in the world. How I miss them.
great recovery, they kept the essence of the Midlake sound even with the vocals. magic stuff obviously missed Tim's voice but frankly i was at one of the UK gigs when he just sarcastically and stropilly gave up....and no refund !!!

Agora, não posso negar que certos "barulhos" chamados de música me incomodam absurdamente. Dj13e36 I used to feel the same way. Huge, Rosco fan. After not being able to put this album down since it released I have fallen in love all over again. I love the new Midlake. Tim was amazing in his own right, for sure; but I gave this guy a shot and I'm now hooked.
Trials of Van Occupanther brought me to this lovely band. melancholy sounds. but hey, Antiphon aint that bad actually. still fits! 😁 ah lucky me for finding this lovely band.
Sorry, but you should have changed the name of the band. Tim Smith was way to influential in your history to keep the name. The new stuff is different enough that it feels disconnected from the Midlake of past.
I disagree. If a member leaves it doesn't mean the rest of the band are forced to change their name. They were all "Midlake", Tim's departure can't take that from them. Bands change over time, with or without members leaving or joining. In my opinion, by the way, they only improved. But that's just like, my opinion, man.
Midlake was not Tim only. did you realize that there are another guys behind its lovely sounds too? if Tim took his place in solo, and the others were just additional players, then so be it. but we talk about the whole thing man.
So lucky to watch these guys live. Few months after they disbanded. Shame, possibly one of the top 3 bands of 21st century...
It's been a good few years for old & new Midlake fans :)
The spirit of the Moody Blues lives

KEXP performances are always so neat

I just discovered this band from RUclips suggestion. Such a good american rock-country sound. I love this!
Love the host; she's cool and genuine.

Holy. .... That was incredible.
Wonderful. I listened to the podcast version all summer and it's nice to add the pictures.
Love the Crocodile joke!
I love how much these songs have evolved since this performance! Incubation >> perfection!
Way to pull through the transition guys! You're sounding great :)

Midlake is the best band in the world. How I miss them.
They just backed Rufus Wainwright on ACL! No audience. They were the perfect backing band for Rufus.

The flute fits very well in with Aurora Gone
Incredible! I'm a big fan!
Love Midlake!!! 💓
Descubriendo esta banda. Me trae recuerdos de otras que escuchaba hace mucho tiempo.
My favorite band right now...I miss Tim anyway

Klasse Band! Für mich eine Neuentdeckung!
Thumbs up from Sweden!!!!!
so good
It's different, it's not the same, but that doesn't mean it's not as good...all hail Midlake!
accoustic version showing the bass riff really outstanding
great recovery, they kept the essence of the Midlake sound even with the vocals. magic stuff
obviously missed Tim's voice but frankly i was at one of the UK gigs when he just sarcastically and stropilly gave up....and no refund !!!
Please please please release something new from this iteration of Midlake!!
Fabulous!
Not the same without time his voice was like melting butter for the sole
Yay!
Divine!
Antiphon is the shit. Y'all are killin' it. Van O is hard to beat, but this might be your best record.
Wonderful voice, very nice songs, they recall a bit Fleet Foxes.
Reminds me of Peter Gabriel era Genesis, especially with the flute.
Really reminds me of the Trespass album. That combination of flute, arpeggio acoustic guitar and organ is killer.
Muito bom! Alguém do Brasil?

Schöne Harmonien, schöne Musik
Yes.. this is very good, better than the Record. But I miss very much the Voice of Tim and nevertheless the Deep of Courage.
Dear gosh, harmoneees
I like Antiphon much better than their previous albums with the other guy!
That's insane. I'd be surprised if the remaining members even agree with that. Tim's songs were superior, by far.

Oh, damn! No way... "The other guy"???? oooooohooohohohohoho
Antiphon was my first album and I love it. I tried older stuff and guess what it is medicore to my taste.
Trials of Van Occupanther brought me to this lovely band. melancholy sounds. but hey, Antiphon aint that bad actually. still fits! 😁
ah lucky me for finding this lovely band.
Front man looks like Robin Pecknold from Fleet Foxes.
LOL that face @18:26 #bloopers
will the darkness fade?
20:12 - And they say men can’t multi-task……
Where's McKenzie Smith? i want to watch him drum
No kidding. I wonder why they did this one without drums.
Ye where is the drummer ?!?!?!?
Why "PROVIDER" its not played T_T ...... whyyyyyyy .......
Gocha !! fucking coooooolll FU*K
They're still very good, but i miss Tim
Reminds me of Fleet Foxes
Antiphon sounds like a religious anthem
Was this done acoustically on purpose for the radio, or is this the way they sound in concert? I've never seen them.
Herb Cochley This was just for the radio, but they also sound amazing in concert ^^ great musicians
Thanks. I hope to see them someday.
Mr Low Profile show his skills @20:12| at about, its midlake.net not .com
this is the shit
Crow is dying...
King Crimson, il y a trente cinq ans
I don't get this kexp woman

Midlake reinvented themselves with each album even before Tim left, just another style change with no need for a name change.
Boring.. all the melancholic vibe is gone. These are pretty songs .. just pretty and easily forgettable
