The facility doesn’t even have any pictures of Lance bc of the negative publicity. Everyone has skeletons in their closet it’s just that Lance’s was broadcast to the whole world
He has said more than once, "When they told me they got you, I was like "great". For some reason I thought he had a list of people but I guess he pays others to think of interesting guests unless he knows someone close to him.
I defended him for years. Pretty sure he was the most tested athlete at one point. But I could never have anticipated the level of corruption, stopped watching cycling and didn't start until Froome was on his way out. The major thing for me was the corruption and the lying at the end. But he is redeemed now. Still a big hero and inspiration of mine in some ways.
The fact that he went to great lengths to destroy people's lives from speaking the truth about him and his teams is what makes him a terrible person. No one cares he took PEDs to win the TdF. The entire peloton was doping.
The others used as well, its part of elite top sports and even at amateur levels lots of people do. You can look at it as he was the best, most hardworking and/or most talented of his generation at the very least despite them all being on EPO.

Bill, always love your stuff. I must say that Golf is an addiction and a lifestyle for all players. It is far more than a sport, though it's the most played sport in the world. I have just sold my golf business. People who play will generally use all of their spare money on gold equipment. If you're a Golfer, you think about Golf every 10 seconds. I appreciate the idea of only watching the finals, but I guarantee you if you spent a year learning to play Golf. It would consume your thoughts all day long. Just some food for thought, as I was in the industry for years. It's also the most watched sport in the world because you can have it on in the background when you're working. It's quite relaxing and the best sport to alleviate tensions or anger, even if you are no good at it.
Great interview, I have changed my opinion of L.A. Great likable man, intelligent and well spoken. Thank you for this interview. My best wishes for Lance, you are an honest dude.
Agree with Bill.. golf is not a sport. The most boring thing to see is men/woman walking around and tapping a ball into a hole. I'd rather watch paint dry.
I remember reading in the USCF newspaper for licensed racers about some new unknown coming up through the ranks, a 20 year old kid who was another amateur bicycle racer like me by the name of Lance Armstrong. The sports physiologist said that fellow had a VO2 max (indicates speed of recovery after an all out sprint) that was 1 in 10,000. So yeah there are a lot of genetically gifted people at the top eschelon of sports. I think that Lance was the best rider out there given if the whole playing field was level including himself. In this interview Lance says that it was all the training he put in that was what he actually enjoyed doing. So he had uncommon physiology plus was totally into devoting himself to the process of training, and then he had the determination and tactical peleton sense to see through the slogging circus of the races to win. It's nice to see people that have natural talents put them to good hard use. Like The Beatles, they practiced performed like crazy and had exceptional musical talent. It's not just about sports. Try to find your natural talent and do it a lot!

Give into it Bill and you will see it's real and you will be open to other spiritual things. God is real, He made all you see and all you experience. God bless you Bill Maher, you are a blast to listen to. God bless.
Can't believe he has the ball to show himself in public again.
Good one
👏 👏 👏
@Monkey I totally agree with you. True Coward remember all those steroids the balls are gone. 😂
Don't be butt hurt 😢
🤣 🤣🤣
Great podcast, Bill! Lance Armstrong is the man, idc 🙌🏻
You can have your opinion about Lance and his whatever. However, the fact is he had an enormous positive impact on cancer awareness and raising money for the cure, selling a mountain of bikes, and getting people outside to ride.
Meanwhile he gave himself cancer with years of performance enhancing drugs 😂
@@warfarenotwarfair5655 No
@@dpporlando Yes and cancer doesn't need awareness, it's needs research funding and the FDA to stop slowing down progress
@@warfarenotwarfair5655 it's pretty evident you do not know much about the history; "As the Livestrong founder, Armstrong helped raise over $500 million for cancer research, treatment and support, including $6.5 million he personally donated. People donated to a charity whose founder overcame cancer and won seven consecutive Tour de France titles."
So wrong on over-testing. We don't do enough at all. Cancer is way too prevalent, and early detection is the best thing.
My dad was a professional cyclist for many years. What Lance is saying is 100 percent true about EPO, you have to be naive to not think that top tier athletes have been using doping methods even this till day (EPO, blood transfusions, testosterone, human growth hormone). His competitors in his era was completely filled to the gills with it, and he dominated all of them, his mindset and genetic ability is what made him a grand tour freak (7 Tour de France's). Lance transformed the cycling industry in the United States and his foundation revolutionized cancer research. He's a bad ass.
Can’t stand watching the NBA and how they fawn over Lebron James and what he’s doing at 38. There’s more than just genetics at play here.
No he wasn’t
Thanks Bill! Not looking forward to your Christmas hiatus, but you've earned it yet again. Merry Ho Ho!
I need Bill Maher's sound bites when I huff and puff, good combo, perfect timing team Bill. It's 22 pm up here in indigenous Europe
When he does the ads I just howl. I don’t know what it is about it, but it slays me and I do the gasping laugh.
Bill, it's odd, but we think alike medically.I like my body to take care of anything that affects me...Dont like vaccine, and I think we r seeing the bad after effect of the vaccine..
Love Lance - did great for cancer apart from the cycling
His cancer was created by his PED's
Lance talking about blackberry, Bill interjects, Lance says, "stay with me here". He watched Bill enough. ; )
Got the best nap of my life watching this episode…
Bill Maher now fully embodies the phrase, "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."
Sometimes 40 miles on a flat Florida road is all we have to work with, nevertheless Lance continues to be one of my hero's.
It is hard to find anything likeable about Lance after all the layers of his bad doings. Everyone can make mistakes but his rises to the same level of the worse I think. Thats the one thing about arrogance and narcissism it allows the one in question to go on and have a quality of life that someone with true remorse goes into total seclusion or commits suicide. Best wishes even to him!
How about All the NFL players? If you think pro athletes aren't juicing you're naive
@@Sambone123
Oh...yes absolutely. In many different sports the exploitation of PED's is always prevalent. Its How it went after those that knew and spoke their truth. He tried to dismantle their lives and he figured his money, fame and popularity would earn him a shroud of protection. He lost. Some people are required to apologize and be contrite every day for their previous actions. He doesnt seem to be. Thats all I meant.
I’m 48…soon to be 49 this March 10. I just had my FIRST colonoscopy last Friday. The norm now is 45. My brother who is 4 years younger and is a 10-year Non Hotchkins Lymphoma cancer survivor as of 02/14/2024. I told him he needs to get one. The results of my scope was great… clean bill. Had 4 tiny polyps the size of 2 mm. The prep is the worst part…
I was riding in a Team Discovery jersey in my town. A kid said Look, its Neil Arnstrong! Another kid sain NO you dummy, than Lance Armstrong! The Greatest bike rider in History!
Hey let's DEFEND the Celebrity DOUCHEBAG Athelete.
It's AMERICA for God's sake..😅
Cologuard has an extremely high false positive results-which sells fear. Get a colonoscopy, the prep is shitty 🤣-just do it.
Not all the stories about him were true -- we're supposed to start believing Lance Armstrong now? And the doping to win might (eventually) be forgiven except Armstrong started blackmailing and threatening vulnerable people.
Proof?
Did Lance THROW anyone Under the BUS????😊
@@mikewhite4560 The people who came forward with the truth that Lance Armstrong was doping all said they were confronted and threatened by him. I can't remember their names, but they were featured in that documentary about the entire incident where clips of Armstrong publicly calling them liars were shown. These witnesses were also interviewed on 60 Minutes. Yes, I would say that is proof that he at least attempted to throw them under the bus.
Always been a Lance fan.
I'd have a vodka soda with him anytime...
The first man to land on the sun!
That was a great segment anyone who suggests that it was a selective group of americans that don't basic general information. Most americans have confidence but lack knowledge.

YES HAVE ANOTHER BONEFIDE LIAR ON, GEORGE SANTOS!!!
Exactly. Let's do an entire holiday season of liars and cheats!
Santos is a parody of himself.
Great INTERVIEW GUYS - RESPECT
He's a fantastic interview and thank you Bill for this episode. The comments from people thinking that they are so virtuous need to step off of the sheep train and buy a clue. This is real and it's an incredible perspective on life, competition, judgement, celebrity, success and failure.
Lance is a THROW UNDER THE BUS DOUCHEBAG...😅
I love the Bill Burr take on Oprah and armatrong interview.
Lance was fun to watch race. His two 2nd places at Amstel Gold were epic!
Meant that with respect. Lance rode very strong & smart. Yes, he lost each 2-up sprint, but he put on a master’s class on how to race the old Amstel course.
He's an A. H. 😅
@@CreatexColors The masterclass was done by the winner!!
@@bowwowrapha7790 very true, and Armstrong’s 2 second places, each a sprint loss, however, US Postal was not as dominant a team as Rabbobank
@@CreatexColors I'm on a truth mission tonight. I've decimated many's the good drug enabler on here. It was in me and it had to get out. Team Grabowank were on more gear than anyone else. They could run their own Narcotics Anonymous meeting. Armstrong wouldn't be allowed in. They tell him, "go see Oprah. She'll sort yah"
I have loved Bill's show for decades, but this podcast continues to disappoint despite having LITERALLY the most interesting guests on the plant.
The man walked on the moon played the trumpet like a champ and won seven Tour de France titles.
Also he has never been accused of any wrong doing.
What a guy!!!
HE WAS ALSO THE FIRST MAN TO WALK ON THE SUN.
@@pdcdesign9632 You know the Polish Government announced that they would be the first to put a man on the Sun by 2030. They had a big press conference about it but they were ridiculed. The journalists said you won't get anywhere near the sun you will burn up. They said we're going at night...
Bill Maher to Lance Armstrong “ever heard of drugs???” 😂😂😂😂
Yeah, Bill's usually pretty sharp but he completely missed that
I couldnt agree more. Willie is a LEGEND. Ucan hear his voice on a sound system in a restaurant in Dubai and know its Willie Nelson.
Club Random Podcast is very entertaining.
I like that Bill had Lance on the show. I respect Lance. Football players are on PED's and no one bats an eye. its not a perfect world. I totally get the point of being more satisfied about climbing the mountain than getting recognized for being at the top. Cycling is a brutal sport
That's not what it's about. It's the fact that he's a terrible human being. I've met hundreds of celebrities through my occupation and he's easily the worst. He has the same gene that serial killers have where there's no empathy or accountability. If it seems as if he does, it's just an insincere put-on. One of my interactions with him was where he and a friend were biking on a road side by side...with traffic coming the other way, there was (no exaggeration) 20 cars going 10 mph stuck behind him. He was carrying on a conversation with the rider next to him with no concern at all for everyone behind him. In that situation, cyclists are supposed to go single file. He fits the definition of narcissistic psychopath. It's a good thing he decided to go into cycling rather that serial killing.
Oh they bat an eye. They get suspended.
Leroid James!
Some haters on here. The little research I did it appears Lance started the live-strong foundation which helps cancer patients emotionally, financially and other supports. If that’s true then I say good for him. Additionally Lance is still the biggest donor and doesn’t collect any money from the foundation he started. The facility doesn’t even have any pictures of Lance bc of the negative publicity. Everyone has skeletons in their closet it’s just that Lance’s was broadcast to the whole world
Throwing People UNDER the BUS?????😮
Where does he come up with these guests??
From the make me watch this next please library help this helps
He has said more than once, "When they told me they got you, I was like "great". For some reason I thought he had a list of people but I guess he pays others to think of interesting guests unless he knows someone close to him.
Maher has been saying for years he likes to talk with people of all walks of life including the first man to land on the sun!🌞😂
❤Wow … Thanks Bill, I’ll be seeing you soon in person… can’t hardly wait 😂
I defended him for years. Pretty sure he was the most tested athlete at one point. But I could never have anticipated the level of corruption, stopped watching cycling and didn't start until Froome was on his way out.
The major thing for me was the corruption and the lying at the end.
But he is redeemed now. Still a big hero and inspiration of mine in some ways.
The fact that he went to great lengths to destroy people's lives from speaking the truth about him and his teams is what makes him a terrible person. No one cares he took PEDs to win the TdF. The entire peloton was doping.
You do know 90 percent of NFL and NBA players are on steriods right?
The others used as well, its part of elite top sports and even at amateur levels lots of people do. You can look at it as he was the best, most hardworking and/or most talented of his generation at the very least despite them all being on EPO.
Weak people admire him. Strong people run their own race!!
@@Lightitupp1 He was not the most naturally talented nor most hardworking, he was a good responder to synthetic stimulants with an uber strong team also doped to the gills. Before EPO (but still using lots of dope - hgh, blood bags etc) he was an average day racer with a short list of achievements. He never really competed outside the Tour for fear of positive drugs tests and the knowledge that if he held off on the doping he'd be middle of the pack everywhere he went and be exposed.
Best ending ever! Wait Bill, I have a few more questions 😂😂😂
Can't believe this cheater is still showing his face to the public, what a disgrace to the sport.
Bill looks pretty good for 67... but Lance is an OLD 52!
" A fireless smoke pit." 🤣🤣🤣 38:00
Lance arm strong will always be the best! Everybody was doping in that era. It was the norm and it continues to be the norm in various sports throughout the world.
Is anybody else noticing how Bill always smacks his lips and makes this little noise whenever he's billsplaining something and thinks he's making a really great point? 😂 I find it so funny and he does it a lot. E.g. at 1:22:00.
*_To billsplain_*_ = Lecturing (with excessive confidence) on a subject you have a strong view on but no deeper understanding nor education._
lol yes he does this on Real Time as well. I’ve noticed it for a long time and this is the first comment I have seen anybody mention it
I’ll take note of it as he especially does it when he does not know much about the subject but wants to appear as if he does. It’s a sort of cocky demeanor about his subject matter.
THIS guy is going to do this podcast sober? 😅
I swear he told lance he doesn’t drink.
@@Here.WeGoNow Maybe he quit again. He had "friends" tell him to cut back in the past. It must hurt him in the AM

Lance was the greatest.... His problem is not telling the truth. Epogen Epotein
Thanks for the great interview with Lance today, Bill. I believe everyone deserves a second chance in life.
If he had a second he'd cheat again because he knows even when caught he has all of you to make excuses for his abhorrent behaviour.

Great interview, I have changed my opinion of L.A. Great likable man, intelligent and well spoken. Thank you for this interview. My best wishes for Lance, you are an honest dude.
lol. He cheated. Is that being honest ? 😂
Hand-to-hand combat in the ice bucket tonight!
Why do we have to keep giving cheats and charlatans a spotlight
Precisely!
Why not? Are they not redeemable? And who made you an authority on who we should watch? If you don't like them, why would you click this video?
Why would you make a movie about a cheater. Probably the biggest in history 🤷♂️🤷♂️
I know two guys that died because they were against getting a colonoscopy.
They were pissed when they were told it’s too late.
Agree with Bill.. golf is not a sport. The most boring thing to see is men/woman walking around and tapping a ball into a hole. I'd rather watch paint dry.
"Our Roided up Guy, Beat your Roided up guy"
- Bill Burr.
Oh Bill, why stoop so low as to have this sociopath on?
Can't stand Lance now, put someone else on who hasn't been such a disgrace. All respect gone
He is still fast as heck. Flew by an athletic biker friend of mine on our bike trail here in Idaho.
He simply leveled the playing field and got a bad rap for it. Everyone was blood doping back then. He is and was an amazing athlete. Anyone that calls him a cheater doesn't know the story and just read an article in the national enquirer.@stevenhalloway1736
I wonder whose blood he was using that day? 😀
Was Lance still a DOUCHEBAG....😊
@@shughy1good one 🙄🙄. The dude despite everything worked his a*s off. He went from having cancer to beating cancer to winning the Tour de France. No matter what , that is INCREDIBLE. Not to mention all the money he raised for cancer research. He still did a lot of great things.
