He's the Puck of English and Celtic mythology. You learn this in the base-game.
So wait does that mean in gow universe Slavic and Norse gods are the same or the succssesors
Not the same different places and gods and goddesses but they can travel between universes and realms. @genesismultiverse4896
What an oddly interesting detail that Oberon and the Fairies were there to observe the wedding of Theseus and Hippolyta.
When I heard that I thought he was referring to Titus Andronicus
@@bryce7289It being in Athens and the lord marrying a warrior queen that they conquered narrows it down.
Right, because of Athens. Titus Andronicus is Roman
Could have been cool if Kratos had picked up on it and been like: oh so that incident was your doing.
@@Historyfrek4everwhat incident are you referring to?
The Norns already call him Puck straight up in the base game. Mimir has been Puck the whole time.
🤯
"There is no destiny, Puck." - Urð
Midsummers Nights Dream was my favorite Play from Shakespeare, and Puck was my favorite character, especially in Disney’s Gargoyles. This conversation adds a a totally new level to both these Shows! No wonder Mimir knew who Kratos was in the first installment of this Saga! “You’re the Ghost of Sparta!” 😮❤
In high school I was part of a play based on a midsummer night's dream. And I played as Egeus 😂😂. Good times
SAME! I love that little gremlin in Gargoyles
The Puck reveal later in Gargoyles was wild
@@patriciomendoza19 Yes! When the butler turned out to be Puck! Insane!
@@tribalid6104 And perfectly forshadowed in the Mirror episode. And hinted at several times
Didn't one of the Norns even call Mimir, "Puck," even? At first I thought it was a slur, kind of like how Brok used to call Mimir, "stump." Interesting.😃
Good catch. I thought that was just an insult as well.
I do hope Atreus' first game is set within Celtic/English mythology and is assisted by Sigrun on his journey especially with her going on her own adventures to find herself.
I feel like it be more likely Kratos and Mimir would be the ones going to that land. Could see a plot where Mimir gets kidnapped by Oberon as a form of revenge for going awall. Thus leading Kratos to go after his best bud
I believe Atreus will be the protagonist of the next game, featuring Angrboda, Sindri, Thrud, and Sigrun. Maybe Sinmara, too.
@@PaddyRoon7 I don't see anyone else other than Sindri, Sigrun, and Thrud in Areus' first game. Angrboda is actually busy taking care of the soulless animals in her keep while Sinmara is busy mourning over the death of Sutr to go out travelling.
@@takerweapon1 remember Angrboda can travel around pretty quickly and easily, and it's possible that Sinmara will become vengeful and hunt Atreus. Just pure speculation though.
He could also be going to Japanese or Mayan mythology due to the whole shape shifting mages and beasts both mythologies have going for themselves (Naguales in the new world, Kami and Youkai in Japan). Which fits with Loki's own struggle with having a godhood from which he can learn from no one (Jotun are 99.9% extinct), also both places didn't took kindly to strangers, specially pre-modern times Japan.
Kratos was also implied to be Odr, Freya's husband in some Norse canons so if he is, then he will soon conceive 2 daughters with Freya, both named after jewels IRL due to their impossible beauty, but in-universe we know the reason.
Atreus: "My father likes loot."
Kratos: *Names both his daughters after both Norse words for jewels/riches*
He can't help it.
Also, if he has 2 daughters, one could go full Vanir mage while the other just goes full Spear/Spartan trainin, Vanir mage seems jungle like which fits better with Mayan and a Kratos-like harsh goddess could do better against the ruthlessness and stoicism of Egyptian deities.
Kratos has a lot to do locally, especially with the Celtic mythos and all that BS Oberon did and left to rot in the wild near the 9 realms.
Now I see why one of the Norns called Mimir ‘Puck.’
When he spoke about the Arthurian legend I thought he was Merlin, in the first game he’s said he’s moved many times and changed his name so he might still be
I remember he moved and changed is name many times. But I think he just heard of the Arthur legend not actually play a major role in it.
For anybody still calling him "Puck", his name is only, and has always been "Robin Goodfellow". A puck is a anouther name for a fae or a sprite. I grew up with these plays, have bittrsweet memories of my aunt taking me to them. It's one of the many elements in this game that got my friend to convince me to play this on my days off/s.
Or Puck the character from Shakespearse play? Who Mimir is based on. Also neat detail, one of the Norns call him Puck.
It’s a very nice touch that Kratos seems to be taking a genuine interest in his friends life & problems and be supportive.
Of all the mythos to combine with Dad of Boi, Shakespeare was not one I expected.
Well, Mimir also confirmed that Arthurian Legend exists in the God Of War universe. In Ragnarok after getting the Draupnir Spear, Mimir mentions meeting Nimue, the Lady Of The Lake, and mentions that she is a master swordsmith. He also mentions Nimue was working on one very specific project/dream she had last time he saw her, which has me convinced that greatest project is Excalibur. And now that Mimir has confirmed the existence of Arthurian Legend in the God Of War universe, that has become the thing I want to see more than anything from a future God Of War game: Kratos fighting alongside King Arthur and the Round Table Knights.
@@kevinnorwood8782Doubtful of that happening because this game seems to be a close on his story. Though I do see Atreus doing that in his spinoff series alongside Sigrun and Tyr. For those looking for future games with Kratos as the main protagonist I do expect remakes of the Greek Saga.
The Norns straight up called him puck
I love that Mimir recalls the events of one of Shakespeare's masterpieces like it was some stupid shenaniganry his shithead boss did that one time
He’s also heavily hinted at being Shakespeare. At one point in GOW 5 he told the story of MacBeth and afterwards Atreas told him he should write his stories down. Mimir says he’s working on it but it’s hard since he’s just a head.
As a Nasuverse enjoyer I find funny how every depiction of Oberon in fiction is that of a scummy awful being who only bring troubles to everyone around him
And I know he was like that in the original too, but with so many adaptations You would think some "good" interpretations of him somewhere should exist
Fgo's oberon is a pretty good guy tho
Oberon-vortigern on the other hand...
@@navarel9892 Nah, even Full On Oberon is aware of how much of an awful person he is
It's the whole premise of his search for Titania, no one could EVER love somone as despicable as him, hence why Titania can't exist, but he will still keep looking
Fairies being good is a very recent interpretation. Its nice to see some of the original chaotic dipshit portrayals.
Gargoyles has a pretty good depiction of Oberon. He’s arrogant and scummy but you can see the logic in his decisions, and he can be reasoned with even when he is acting unreasonable
As bad as Odin and Zeus?
I mean Odin had reach the level of evilness with his obsession that damn everyone in the realm. His family, the realms and other species. People who try to help him, he spat on their hands. I wonder Tyr tried to help his father before thrown into the dungeon
All this time, Kratos was carrying the head of freak’n Puck of all people.
did he also accompany a one eyed, one armed knight armed with a sword too big to be called a sword that was thick heavy and more like a hunk of raw iron?
is that a quote from the Death Battle episode of Guts Vs. Nightmare??

Johny cage sneezes
This is very cool cuz I am currently reading a midsummer night's dream
What if this is building towards Mimir getting his body back and becoming Merlin?
Ooh, that’s a cool idea!
intro mad Lo-Fi coded
the one thing I noticed is that Mimir said he crushed the Flower with his bare hands, which is impossible since he had been without his body for a couple of years since Kratos freed him from the tree at the Midgard peak. so if necessary Valhalla can temporarly restore limbs or in Mimir's case his entire body, to help the individuals better themselves in the trail. so for the first time although briefly, mimir would have his body back and he would no longer be bound to odins tree.
Mimir said that himself
Mimir literally says this right after the situation with Helios, that whenever he's gone he's back in his woods with his old body and everything
Found this out in the GOW 2018 game
GASP 😮
I remember reading the story for english class, I completely forgot there was a character named Mustardseed
Well, he is. The Norns called Mimir, Puck.
Imagine Keith David sayin - GURL, listen close, i'm from a land called Scotland...
If i'm honest, i should have seen 'mimir is puck' coming, considering they had a freaking kelpie in the game, and those ain't norse. Makes ya wonder what happened to that world in the GOW universe
One day, Mimir will be known as Owen Burnett.
Kinda overlooking the fact that the actor was just an ambitious weaver whose head he turned into a donkey's
Not a midsummer night's dream.
Genuinely thought that we would get to play as Mimir in this game
Memir has no body to control...
He does when he’s in his memories
Kratos vs Jesus Christ next lmao.
If I’m remembering things correctly, I think one of the original plans for post-GOW3 content was to have Kratos traveling the world, meeting up with two other fellow war gods, and all three ultimately becoming the Wise Men of biblical legend.
What would be fun is if the gods of war from the other lands came to meet with Kratos
something tells me Oberon will be the main villain if and when we get to the British Isles
If that's the case, sign me up for the battle. Any excuse to cut that pig to pieces is fine by me!
Mimir is correct to call actors preposterous
Look at Hollywood today.

The flower petals he's referring to contain a dew, when absorbed into the eyes, that has the magical effect of making a victim fall helplessly in love with the first person they see.
Whats notable about Mimirs experience is his dialogue explaining what he did with the pedals. In Shakespeare's story, the character using them is described as having "crushed" the petals. How does Mimir explain his valhalla scenario with Sigrid to Kratos? He said he "crushed those flowers" with his bare hands.
Friends, I think it's safe to say Mimir chose to drug her in Valhalla. It makes sense considering how self aware he is about valhallas behavior. Their relationship is hindered in the real world. But, not in Valhalla, where he has a functional body in a fully immersive simulated fantasy.
So essentially, Valhalla makes Mimir dream.
