    Good video. Buy this exact screwdriver (1.8mm flat) and a small punch tool for the pins. Takes 15 minutes; no issues at all.

    When the AD adjusted my Tudor GMT he said that there would be sufficient locking compound on the threads from the initial assembly. Sinn thoughtfully provide you with locking compound and the tools necessary for bracelet adjustment when you buy one of their watches. Perhaps there is sufficient compound on the Omega screw threads to keep everything in place.

      Yes, I would love to take my watch bracelet to Omega AD for adjustment but unfortunately the last Omega AD in town lost their contract to Omega 3 years ego. So now the closest one 300 miles away😅
      Hopefully the new recently ordered right size screwdriver will do the job

    Good video. The issue for me was seating the incredibly tiny screws once the pin was back in place. Took forever.

      Thanks. Yes they can be a bit of a pain! But I still prefer them to the old pin and collar system.

    I hear that if the screw is difficult to shift, it is likely because of old threadlock. If so, some acetone/nail varnish remover dabbed onto the screw head with a cotton bud can help to dissolve/soften it.

    I bought my missus an Aqua Terra 30mm earlier this week and had to remove a link.
    I have 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6mm Bergeon screwdrivers but not the 1.8mm.
    I managed to remove the screws with a cheaper screwdriver but ordered the 1.8mm Bergeon straight after.

      I have 1.2, 1.5, and 1.8 and I have been able to get by with those. The 1.8 I have not used on anything but Omega, seems the screws used in most other bracelets are smaller.

    Heated, I got it to work with 1.5 mm. Granted the initial resizing was done at a dealer so he probably didn't screw them in as tight

      It can be done, but using the exact correctly sized screwdriver helps a lot.

    This is probably a dumb question, but how do you determine which side of the bracelet to take the link from when re-sizing smaller? Is it simply just take a link from the side with more links?

    • @omegawatchfan
      @omegawatchfan  10 месяцев назад +1

      I think that is a very good question actually. For me it is a matter of trial and error. I generally prefer the 6 o'clock side of the bracelet to be slightly shorter (maybe 1 link less) than the 12 o'clock side as it makes the watch face sit closer to the inside of the wrist and seems to match better with the shape of my wrist.

    I just received my aqua terra and it's hell. I broke 3 screwdrivers on the screw thread. Even my watchmaker can't remove the screws. I ordered the same screwdriver as on your video and I will see to put the bracelet in hot water.

    • @omegawatchfan

      I've never had problems with the screws like that. Is it possible that it was glued in place with something like superglue? You made need to use a solvent if that is the case. The right screwdriver will help a lot.

      @@omegawatchfan with great difficulty I succeeded. Some screws were impossible to get. I had to interchange almost all the links to get the bracelet the right size. I used a Dexter 1.8 screwdriver which is the only one to have survived.
      despite this the omega aqua terra has become my favorite watch. I have more fun wearing it than my datejust.

    Hi,
    The boiling water didn't work for me, and I used hair blower on highest set removing some screws. But on some screws even the hair blower didn't work. I should admit I was using Bergeon 1.6mm., the closest size I was able to find at home. I hope the Wiha brand screwdriver 1.8mm would fix the problem. I'm going to order one. Also I didn't see any Loctite on my screws as I can see clearly on yours and my bracelet is brand new.
    Thanks for the video anyway.

      The right size screw driver is critically important. Though a small difference, it allows all the maximum amount of force to be applied to the screw. Once I figured out to use the 1.8, it made it much easier.

      Thanks for the comment! They are called watch pin pushers, pin remover, punches and some other names as well. If you search for watch pin remover on Amazon, you will see them. They often come as a set with the hammer and plastic block to hold the bracelet in place.

    It's a shame they don't have mico adjustment... I'm stuck between if I add an extra link it's too loose, if I don't add its bit tight... :-(

      Do you have any extra half links? If not, you can order one. For the models without the micro adjust that’s probably the best way to get a comfortable fit.

    • @omegawatchfan
      @omegawatchfan  3 года назад +1

      The older "pin and collar" bracelets have collars. These screw links only have a free floating metal bar and screws on each side to keep the bar in place.
