Fifteen years ago I bought my Omega Speedmaster Moon Watch used from eBay. The watch was in beautiful shape, the original owner left it in the safe most of the time. Praise God that he included the extra links, along with box and papers, because he had small wrists. I sounded much like you did trying to remove the pins myself before deciding that my jeweler might know things I didn't. Mostly, he knew different expletives... but he succeeded where I failed, lol! 😂

Great info, thanks Archie! What makes it a bit easier for removing those pins is that device you can get with the watch toolkits that you can screw in the one end and it pushes the pins through the other side. These work great and you won't have to worry about your hand slipping and scratching the bracelet.

Took my 9541 to some shithead shoemaker around the block and he was hammering away at my watch then snapped the remaining pin in three different parts and lost a tube and pin from the extra link. Decided not to charge me and somehow the watch wasnt scratched. Anyway now I have to go to an actual watchmaker and let him scalp me to replace the damaged pin so my seamaster doesnt explode when I'm walking around like a fuckhead.

I damn near destroyed 4 of my pins on my 1861 speedmaster bracelet. The watch was used when I bought it and had decades of caked in dirty inside the pin holes so it’s impossible not to destroy the pins just to remove it. And I hate this bracelet. Ordered a flat link with screws and current using my marine master 300 rubber strap until that one comes in the mail.

nice video. I've just flicked my current 1998/849 bracelet, and replaced it with the 1171/1 bracelet. Got it from Watchco in Melbourne, and it looks superb. None of the flashy polished shit that makes the band look like it's off a lady's Longines. Just hollow links with heaps of adjustment, and makes the watch look like a sports watch, not some half assed dress watch band.
