Every trick that Killer Moth used to escape or best Batman during every fight only influenced Batman more. Moth became his inspiration. Years later, Batman runs into him again trying to flee. YOOOOO KILLER MOTH SQUAD LETS FREAKING GOOOOOOO in all seriousness, I think Killer Moth is the best version of the "Batman but eeEEEeevil" gimmick that has been done to death (Hush, Prometheus, Wrath, etc.) The concept of him being "the guardian of Gotham's criminal world" is pretty underexplored and really cool in a Moriarty kinda way. His mere existence pathologizes the villains of Gotham in a way that makes them worthy of *needing* a protector, even if he's totally inept at his job.
Killer Moth needs a redemption arc. Imagine how great it would be if he kept on sucking at being a villain and decided to try being a superhero instead. At first he'd be motivated for the wrong reasons like gaining popularity and feeling self-righteous, but as the story goes on he'd learn to become a hero for the right reasons. As he becomes more selfless and motivated to save people, he actually starts training seriously and becomes more competent. I don't think he should become a martial arts prodigy that can rival Batman or even Robin, but someone who could beat the average person in a fight. I think it would be really cool to see him going from fighting petty crooks to more serious villains and him getting in over his head. He could either continue training and become more competent at becoming a hero OR he could realize that there are other ways of helping people that don't involve masking up and fighting crime. Maybe he realizes that he's not cut out for fighting and realizes he's best suited for protecting and saving civilians in situations where heroes and villains are fighting and there is a lot of collateral damage. I think that would be a really cool way to innovate the character
Something else about Killer Moth, when Booster Gold travels back in time and disguises himself as Killer Moth beats up Batman then puts Killer Moth back in his suit, in the far future Killer Moth ends up becoming a professional Anti-Batman with a blimp and signal. So i guess all he really needed was a confidence boost?
My introduction to the character was in The Batman 2003 where he got introduced as one of the guys Penguin recruited to his squad of villains to pull off a heist (though it's openly established that the others don't take him seriously). During the heist, Killer Moth gets exposed to chemicals that mutate him into a giant moth creature which ironically makes him the most powerful villain in the group (which is saying something as Killer Croc was in the group as well). The episode ended with them all getting arrested and (from what I remember) this was his one and only appearance in the entire series. 😥

The Killer Moth version from Teen Titans animated show (not Teen Titans Go!) is actually pretty good and I would dare to say is the greatest version of Killer Moth of all. While he is still funny, he IS a real menace and a very powerful villain; he created his own army of giant mutant moths which are terrifying and he also wields an electric whip. Awesome! Additionally, in the comic book "Batman: My Own Worst Enemy" where Batman has to scold Two-Face to another city, they are attacked by the combined efforts of Firefly and Killer Moth. Although their fight was brief, it was so great to see both insect-themed villains working together. Also, their costumes on that comic where excellent.

I personally really wish his Teen Titans Incarnation had become his official one because honestly, after Slade. Killer Moth is legitimately my favorite reoccurring villain of The Show. Hes legitimately awesome

Killer Moth is the perfect character to be a sort of MCU Vulture character. A Villain who takes the left over scraps and uses them to fuel his anti-batman deeds
Wow, never really knew about this side of Killer Moth. I grew up watching Teen Titans and I guess never really looked into his comic book counterpart(s). I'd love to see him in more DC media honestly, the original seems like it has a lot of material to work with!
That parasite story is beautiful and I'd absolutely love to see more of him, just a happy go lucky loser villain with bad luck who just tries his best to get by
I like the idea of Killer Moth being motivated by the fact everyone treats him as a loser. I think he'd be perfect for Matt Reeves' Batman sequel, as he could be shown to be treated as a joke, but goes much further and potentially get abilities like controlling bugs or something, and gets to the point where he becomes a threat, all because nobody respected him and that's all he wanted in life. To be remembered.
Okay, so Killer Moth technically never did turn back into a human. At the end of Underworld Unleashed, all of Neron's deals were supposed to be reversed as he was defeated, but for some reason they left Killer Moth as Charaxes. Eventually he was killed, along with many others, by Superboy Prime in Infinite Crisis. He was impersonated by Booster Gold for a bit, but only came back due to the New 52, where he got it real rough. At one point the Atom shrank down, went into Killer Moth's head, and grew inside his head just to torture the dude. It doesn't go away either, because he later shouts at Red Robin about the Atom and not wanting to be tortured again. It's awful. Edit: Misremembered my timeline, the torture happened pre-New 52 during Cry For Justice. I still hate that series.
@@ulyssesveracruz8343 Okay, so I misremembered my issues, the torture was pre-New 52. "What's the point of living if you're never going to be happy?"
I ask myself that question at least once or twice every single day. No answer forthcoming.
Any villain that appeared in the Lego Batman game is a good villain in my book
DC being fools for not releasing a Killermoth movie already.
THE GOAT. Honestly my favorite villain from DC.
I personally really wish his Teen Titans Incarnation had become his official one because honestly, after Slade. Killer Moth is legitimately my favorite reoccurring villain of The Show. Hes legitimately awesome
The greatest character ever created since Chicken Little
0:20 that's funny, it's exactly how I was introduced to the character too.
It's really nice to see him again after all these years and just brings so much good memories back to my head.
Thank you, and I hope your channel and your work grow stronger every day.
Killer moth in teen titans will always be my favorite
I remember him from the first Lego Batman game.
You’re the goat I suggested this in a previous vid and I’m blessed to see this. Much love mullet man you’re the best❤️
I love to imagine, like, The Ventriloquist and Mad Hatter dumping on Killer Moth on the reg.
Funniest thing about Killer Moth thematically is bats eat moths.
I always got this guy confused with firefly lol
His incarnation in teen titans (2003) was awesome
Well it's Titans2003
It's all Awesome!!! All the time!
Always a good day when you upload.
That comic about killer moth accepting his place in life is genuinely heartwarming
I've always loved killer moths outfit, it's so ridiculous but it works so well
As a long time fan of the Kamen Rider series I've always been a fan of bug-themed heroes and villains. Killer moth has some truly great designs.
I accept the milk, because he likely wanted to poison it, but forgot to poison it before giving it to me.
Gon be honest with you guys I thought Killer Moth was one of Batman's worst enemies as a child because he was in Lego Batman
Killer Moth is the perfect character to be a sort of MCU Vulture character. A Villain who takes the left over scraps and uses them to fuel his anti-batman deeds
KILLER MOTH SWEEP 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Chicago Mothman inspired Drury Walker aka KILLER MOTH Blessings and HUGS 👑💜
Wow, never really knew about this side of Killer Moth. I grew up watching Teen Titans and I guess never really looked into his comic book counterpart(s). I'd love to see him in more DC media honestly, the original seems like it has a lot of material to work with!
That parasite story is beautiful and I'd absolutely love to see more of him, just a happy go lucky loser villain with bad luck who just tries his best to get by
YESSS!!!! Killer Moth has been my favorite for years and I love that you covered him!
To be remembered.
the video we’ve been waiting for, ladies and gentlemen! I absolutely love killer moth
Why did the atom went inside and tortured killer moth ?
@@ulyssesveracruz8343 Okay, so I misremembered my issues, the torture was pre-New 52. It was in Cry For Justice, Prometheus had hired Killer Moth to kidnap someone close to one of Atom's allies, so both Ray Palmer and Ryan Choi went after Moth. Palmer then did the shrink and grow torture to get info about Prometheus out of Killer Moth.
@@camerondodge2070 and the what happened after with killer moth ?
@@ulyssesveracruz8343 After that they rebooted the universe before he had another appearance. At this point there's been three or four reboots since that comic, so I have no clue whether it's canon or not.
@@camerondodge2070 ok thanks
The original Anti Batman. Often imitated, never duplicated.
i hope james' gunn new DCU can give killer moth the recognition he deserves
I like that ending for Killer Moth, he finally understands his strengths and earns something. He’s not one of the greats but he’s happy.
He could actually be a Good Innocent Villain that Tried to be the Mothman!
I accept the Chocy Milk from Killer Moth.
KILLER Moth Deserved To Be Part of Batman's Rogues gallery, Because He's So Underated!🦋🦋🦋🦋
I would love if there was a Killer Moth animated film about him, but he was a little darker but still a person.
killer moth unironically has more personality and identity in lego batman 1 than any other dc property that has existed
