Hello there....I have had trouble with binding and was determined to learn. I am not good at hand sewing. I sew with a group & one woman gave me some great advice on how to join the ends that works! I really want to get a video up on that as it may be helpful to others. I have struggled with the join "& would always get it twisted. It can be very frustrating. I also learned flange binding that I would like to share.... I hope you stay tuned. I'm trying to get some great videos put together.
I must of missed this video, when it came out a month ago. I'm so thankful I got to watch this one. I will try this way of binding. I'll first do what you suggested, make a potholder, & table runner. Your the best. I may take a leap of faith, & buy a Janomey sewing machine. Your quilt is so pretty. Your so talented. Thank you.
Hello Jenny binding has taken me much practice on machine binding. I have done many now & it sure beats hand sewing! LOL! I have tried the hand sewing but my fingers get numb. Love my Janome sewing machine too. Good luck! practice makes progress.
You did a great job on the binding Marnae! It’s not easy to get a miter just right with both hands, let alone single handedly! You’re amazing! I love the scrappiness of your quilt too! TFS!
Thank you Lynne! I’m working on preparing the blocks for the scrappy stars. It’s gonna be a pretty one with a bit more coordination in color… exciting!
Thank you for watching! I still have this quilt & have come a long way since roll over binding. I want to get a video up on making binding, sewing it on and how to join. I was always intimidated by it but I have learned so much. I'm not much of a hand sewist though....ha! hope you stay tuned!
A lovely scrappy quilt. I love your colors. You are amazing. Gardening. Baking, cooking, quilting and caring for your chickens. A full fun life.

The 2 inch extra fabric on the backing when the quilt was trimmed works great for this method ❤️
