Fun fact(s): the shots where you see just the feet of Ash, those are actually the feet of 16-year-old Ted Raimi, Sam's younger brother who you might know fron 'Xena: Warrior Princess,' 'Candyman,' 'The Grudge,' and pretty much everything Sam Raimi ever directed. Sam and Bruce Campbell met and became friends because Bruce was Ted's babysitter when he was a teenager.

Fun fact, there’s an Evil Dead: The Musical that keeps with the camp and honestly elevates the material. When it’s performed professionally, there are designated “splash zones” in the first several rows where you get covered in fake blood. Songs include such gems as “What the fuck was that” and “Look who’s evil now”. Not kidding 😂

From what I remember, Raimi said he wouldn't put the tree scene in the movie if he was making it today and it was part of the reason he made the 1987 version. And of course it was the one scene they decided to put back in the 2013 remake/reboot :[

Raimi regret that scene, because of the backlash he suffer. The movie was censor in several countries, because of that scene, and Raimi almost ended his career there! Thats why the tree in evil dead 2 just eats. He made Evil Dead 2 because he didnt want to have another flop movie, which could ended his career. So he had the idea to make a sequel, which he couldnt use any footage of the original movie, and reshoot that open scenes.
It was referenced on the whiteboard and at the end included in Cabin in The Woods. It was listed as one of the monsters
"the angry molesting tree" is listed on the white board of possible monsters in the Cabin in The Woods movie and eventually shown in the end
These movies are fun, but what I can't stand, and they even did it with the newest one, is that a character will be possessed, every single tooth is rotted out of their head, eyes are oozing blood, then everyone else is barely concerned "are you okay? you don't look so good????"

Night of the Living Dead would be the first "cabin in the woods" type horror movie I would think of. Its not really a cabin in the woods, but a more isolated home. Also a great horror movie that I would recommend for the channel or just a fun Halloween watch honestly!

literally all the BTS facts about this one are insane. like how dumb college kids sam raimi and co didnt realize that movie glass and real glass were not the same thing so anytime you see glass shattering: real pane glass. same with not realizing they needed a prop shotgun (bruce campbell got that shit at kmart for the movie), and ash holding up a real fuckin chainsaw to linda's neck/chest (if you look closely you can see the actress's pulse racing in her neck)

The Ash vs Evil Dead tv series has references to this movie in it, so I guess it's still somewhat canon? Idk the continuity of this franchise is kinda confusing, but all the entries are very enjoyable nonetheless!

I feel like Army of Darkness is such whiplash from this one oh my god, I hadnt seen this one since i was like 8 (why my parents allowed that i will never know) and only remembered the tree scene, i remembered it was a gory, campy mess but w o w

I remember loving this movie and the 2013 one when I was in middle school, and then I watched the new one that came out not that long ago with my dad, and I fell asleep midway through because it was boring. Honestly, the old horror movies are much more iconic than the newer ones that have come out :(
Glad y'all added a horror channel. For so long it was my fave genre but then technology caught up so we can have decent, believable fantasy now. Sam Raimi did a great job with a small budget. A fun watch but that remake is great.
