Everest Base Camp October 2015: Three Passes Route
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 11 фев 2016
- The most common trek from Lukla to Everest Base Camp follows the busy route up the valleys of the Dudh Koshi and Imja Khola rivers. The "three passes" route we took diverts up the Bhote Koshi valley, then heads across the grain of the ridges over three passes to take in the views. These views include four 8000m peaks: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu. Between the first two passes are the five Gokyo lakes, and between the second two is Everest Base Camp. At the end was Kathmandu, including Durbar Square. It was booked through KE Adventure Travel.
On 25th April & 12th May 2015 two large earthquakes hit Nepal. Thousands were killed or injured and hundreds of thousands displaced due to damage to buildings and infrastructure.
This trip was 10th October - 2nd November 2015, though I originally booked my place on 30th March, before the earthquakes.
Tourism is apparently Nepal's largest industry. In most areas the Nepalis quickly repaired tourist facilities damaged by the earthquakes to preserve their livelihood, but visitor numbers have plummeted. The last words of our Nepali tour leader when I returned home were something like "please spread the word - tell people to come".
I did not know before travelling that there is new civil unrest in Nepal over representation of the south in the new constitution published on 20th September 2015. Blockades are causing lack of fuel for cooking/transport and shortage of other goods/medicines, especially for locals. Our group also had rescheduled international flights and delayed baggage.
Nepal is a wonderful place to explore with stunning scenery, varied culture and very friendly people. I urge you to visit them, giving yourself an amazing holiday and supporting their recovery, but take into account the possible effects of the shortages on both your own plans and local people. Best type of mountaineering video:
1. No unnecessary commentary
2. No annoying Music
3. Respect for Nature
No unnecessary commentary. No annoying music. Just detailed, high quality footage. Thank you so much!
I seen many videos on Everest Base Camp but I found your is the best because its giving information and views of each and every nook and corner. Hats off to your team.
I’m now 74 and 29 years ago trekked to the Kali Gandaki River and back to Pokhara. This vid here is such a great reminder of Nepal so I sort of relived my trek. We got to 14,000 ft. The people were so loving and beautiful. The places we slept were their homes. I loved Katmandu and was so very sad when there was the earthquake. Thank you for posting your trek.🙏🙏🙏 namaste
I am planning to go there in this year.
Bindu Sharma , namaste!
Mount Everest base-camp and the sargamata Trekking Route, is the dream in my life. if i have enough money, i go at my 60. birthday, in six years.
thank you so much, for this wonderful pictures.
No narrative, no music just an experience through a camera. Wonderful. Thank you!
Just watched a 2 hourr video with absolutely no commentary, no music and I loved every second of it. Picture resolution and quality is great. Some of the most incredible scenery on earth and thats several days before Everest is even in sight.
Thank you for not adding music and brainless narration. Fantastic video!
Thank you for this video trip. I am disabled and watching this was so wonderful. 😊
Beautiful video, lovely to see Tibetan Culture and Tibetan Buddhism flourish all along the Himalayan ranges...
By far the best 2 hours I've spent on RUclips. Stuck inside the house while the whole world is on lockdown due to Covid19, this is a stunningly vicarious experience seen through your lens. The views, the sounds, the flora and fauna are incredible. The mountains are utterly breathtaking, I almost felt like crying. What I'd give to follow in your steps. Thank you, thank you for sharing this.
Thank you ...namaste🙏
My beautiful country Nepal .🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
when i got to view those beautiful scenery through your eyes I fell i. was right there.
And thank you for your brave work passing those difficult paths..
Excellent video that really gave me the closest I’ll ever come to Mt Everest ... which is fine because I’m not a climber. And with cinematography this gorgeous, I’m grateful for comfort of both worlds. Really terrific camera work and moments of such beauty yet remaining realistic with signs of the ugliness that an overpopulation of less grateful human beings can reap on what was once limited to purists who cleaned up after themselves ... or so I’ve heard. I admire anyone who attempts this but at the same time maybe some things are better left unspoiled to a select serious few. It’s a gorgeous piece of work and am education too, unafraid to present the pros and cons of greedy accessibility yet still left me admiring the people who take this mountain seriously. Who cherish what commercialization might otherwise encourage to abuse.
The best documentary film I’ve seen about tracking to Everest. I couldn’t look away.
Even though I’m in my armchair thousands of miles from you all, I was urging you on with ‘wow‘s and ‘’beautiful!’s.
No music was an absolute perfect decision.
Thankyou for bringing this experience to me!!
the perfect video, no music, only sounds, no editing ...we can witnessing the exhausting trek...great!
I'm glad you liked it. For the record, the "no editing" took 3 months of spare time.
I was moved to see the wonderful Mount Everst. Thank you for taking a deep breath while watching the video and filming silently. As a viewer, I'm sorry to see such a wonderful mountain trip, and I would like to introduce it to many friends. Please stay healthy.
Beaiutiful video. Just the noise of wind, the breathing, the water springs and the magnificient views. Thankyou
One of the best real video... I have never seen before.... Thanks and Regards..... From India 🇮🇳 🙏
Thank you, I enjoyed it a lot. It was like traveling with you, but without a backpack and shortness of breath. excellent quality, wonderful details, small notes, beautiful corners.
Thanks Stephen! You really captured the route and I appreciate no music and commentary. Feels like I am taking the trek along with the group. Bumpiness of the handheld makes it authentic.
The ONLY thing you can dislike about this video are the dislikes😕
Thanks for this, stunning!🙏
This is the best Mt Everest trekking i have watched. Awesome snow mountains with nature voise.
Love the video quality. Great clarity and mesmerizing to watch. Thanks for the upload.
thank you . I did this trek this year (oct 14th to nov 6th 2017) and I' m so happy to have your video to live again this fantastic experience .
Thank you for visited our Nepal 🙏🇳🇵🇳🇵
Thank you for a wonderful video. The footage of the results of the earthquake was heartbreaking: the loss of thousands of lives, destruction of precious treasures and building to a country already impoverished, not to mention loss of income from tourism, truly broke my heart.
Beautiful .. So nice to hear natural sounds Only .. the breath, the wind and the occasional cow bell. Just stunning! Thoroughly enjoyed your sojourn.
This film made me feel like I was there. Mountain trekking is my favourite thing to do in the world, I hope I can come here one day.
Incredible energy, spectacle Everest, great videos~ Thanks~
Good to watch and feel. Thanks.
Everest base camp trek is one of the most priority wishes in my bucket list.
Thanks Steve, the best video about the treks. It's like I've been trekking with you
Very well documented. I traveled with you. Thank you for this great film.
Beautiful virtual trip,I enjoyed it ...thank you
Very high marks for your video...you took us in your journey step by step...I was able to hear the birds and waterfalls...the steps and the laborious respiration...Thank you very much for sharing such beautiful trip with us.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to document your trek to EBC. I've watched several times
I am feeling the grandeur and the sacred in your video even through my laptop. Thank you.
Much respect and hoping you all dealt it out on the way .... at least for the children. When i trekked in these regions; pens , exercise books, English text books, soap, sanitiser, saffron, rice.. pretty much anything that you could imagine if you lived so far away from any grid! Blessings to all... an amazing feat 🙏🌺
It's like I climbed the Mt. Everest for 2 hours. Lol. Hehe Thanks Stephen for this video. Excellent work and trek. 👍👍👍
Views around Gokyo lakes are just stunning. Thanks for the great video.
Beautiful video lots of Love from Nepal 🇳🇵
Loved this video, never been but felt as if I was there. Lovely views and no music, thank you.
Fantastic video! I felt as tho I was walking along side you taking in all the beautiful views god created! It takes alot of stamina and endurance to do all that trekking so bravo on a trip of a lifetime, you did it!! 🗻🏞🚶♂️🚶♀️👏
Thank-you very much for posting this. You all did great and what a trek, memories for a life time. You showed the world you don't need to hike to the top of the world to have fun and to enjoy the area....I'm jealous.
Wow one of the best video. Amazing mountain view 🗻🏔 I love my mother land Nepal. Salute you sir you made such a great video watching from USA .
Brilliant to watch,, I’m going to base camp hopefully this year and after watching this makes me realise that it’s a massive achievement just to get to base camp ,the views you filmed of the lake were incredible ,I can’t wait to do it

Fantastic Stephen, I've been looking to do the same tour/trip for the last 5 years but need to get over some health issues first. Well done and what a great video you made. Loved every part of it xXx

Yes. This.
Thank you for this is a beautiful video. It gives me a true appreciation for the scenery, the people and the trekking experience
Thank you for taking us on this trek. I am not the type that got a thrill over mountains, oceans, or treks. My thrill comes from books. Your adventures bring me to places I will never go and that my friend, is a very special gift indeed.
2019 awesome amazing beautiful video
thank you for this. Not many people upload a thorough approach & acclimatization video or at least I don't see many in my youtube feed
Thks so much for sharing this video...amazing with no music!...regards from Santiago Chile!
Great job with this video. I loved every moment of it.
The journey is tough but it's just awesome 🙏❤😍.. love nd respect to all of u from Kolkata 💕
In 1979 I walked in from Lamsangu to Namche, then to Kala Pattar, carrying my own stuff and living off the local economy. I hardly saw any other foreigners on a particular day.
Seeing all these buildings at higher altitudes and all these people walking in single file makes me very happy that I did that when going to Everest was a huge adventure, not something for rich people who pay others to carry their stuff and pay locals to cook their food and prepare their tents.
The perfect video for preparing our own trip! Thanks for uploading! Finished the complete vid in one go! Cheers!
Loved your video! The people, their customs, everyday life, etc. It was so much more than just the mountain, I had NO idea it took all that just to get the body adjusted to reach base camp, again lovely!
What an awesome first hand account of the scenic route to Everest without commentary.
it's all about the route, the great pictures and not the stories of any human beings
Good video....
Beautiful my country. ...
Love from Nepal. ...
Thanks....
I agree Nepal is beautiful. …
Love from UK.
I see all the videos from Nepal. Love from Greece♥️
Thank you for this wonderful video!! I have, in fact, re-lived my visit to EBC way back in 2015.
Beautiful scenery...nice panoramic views. Best for those who like adventurous activities and wanderlusts.
Cool! This guy with his camera is the best idea anyone ever had.
Thanks
For some reason I enjoy watching Mount Everest treks and climbs before bed, I find it relaxing. I think it’s the beautiful landscape views. I would love to go one day but not to try and summit, I’m to afraid of dying on the way day down from altitude sickness or exposure, you just never know. God bless all those people that died doing what they love. 💚. Get a tripod next time, the camera was shaking but great video none the less.
I do too.
This three passes trek is very demanding but not extreme like summiting Everest. The main thing is to allow yourself plenty of time so you can acclimatise on the way up and take your time. The people who get in trouble are those with too little time who rush.
Muchas gracias por compartir esta belleza verdaderamente Sublime !!!
Isn't it rather lovely to watch a video where there isn't an intrusive voiceover or underwhelming muzak! As a previous commenter noted - lots of small details captured, little glimpses into this part of the world, the experience of trekking including the breathy bits, and the scenery - all allowed to speak for itself - altogether you have captured the atmosphere wonderfully well. Really well done. Cheers.
Good video beautiful view
Damn you gotta be in great shape to even get to Everest much less climb it. Respect guys.
It's like i've been trekking with you,so beautiful view and the best video with about treks. Awesome✨
outstanding photographs.. great work
Is it just me or does anybody else feel bad for the animals carrying heavy loads of stuff for miles 🙁. Other than that, this was an amazing video. Thanks for taking us there !
Not just you just not enough of us out there
Animals are made to carry loads
@@farhadfarhadian1111 ridiculous statement lmao

Thank you for this wonderful video. So what if the camera was shaken and heavy breathing, it made me think I was behind the camera. The funny part is I am now exhausted. I am 75 and housebound so this trip was good for me here in Aust.
Un gran saludo desde el Salvador éste viaje está fenomenal 👌
Belíssimo documentário, parabéns!!! Think you!!!.

I spent a lovely month at November 2015 in Nepal. Now finding your film Iwas going just to drop by the trip, BUT I had to follow it all the way UP. Then duty called and I had to cut my trip.
Some day I will follow your exellent reportage back down. Thanks for the trip!
