Motocross Action tests the 2022 KTM 450SXF at Glen Helen Raceway. For 2022 the bike comes with 2 new items on the list. One is a small update to the engine department and the other is cosmetics. An orange frame leads us to believe that a new bike is on its way in 2023. Check out what Josh Mosiman and the rest of the MXA wrecking crew thought of the 2022 KTM 450SXF on their first ride. We give you some tips in the video that could help if you have a GASGAS, KTM, or Husqvarna.

A beast of a machine! Can't wait to get my new '22 KTM 450SXF. You be seein my rear fender boys. - over 40 Vet racer!
@@Coyote_77 your comment made my day sir🤣🤣
I really enjoy how detail these videos are. Please keep on gracing us with good content!
Great test Josh and good mix of content and tips.
Great content as always. Thank for upload
My Go To place for accurate information. Thank you Josh and MXA wrecking crew!!!
MXA is #1.
AWESOME JOB!!👍😁
Thanks for the good video. Are you going to do the same thing with the new Honda 450.
Good jobs
I hope for 2023 cosmetically they change the rear of the seat and make it flush with rear mud guard .
Like the kx
I like the blue look of the new KTM but not the orange frame. Always a fan of black one.
4-strokes are best! 💯🤙☝👍✊💪
It’s always “expecting big changes next year”
😅😅😅
I don’t think I’ve ever had a bolt come loose on my bike… torques the spokes maybe once or twice and haven’t touched them since and have maybe 30 hours of no adjustments needed on any of the bolts. Except the engine Mount bolts were slightly out of torque spec but not loose by any means.
would love to see a video about the spots to keep an eye on on the ktm 125
What’s the name of the extension for the fork pump I saw there at the 10:06-10:07 mark? That looks handy.
Works connection no loss adapter. Just got mine Thursday and it’s much easier to attach to the fork valve.
@@michaeld3230 awesome dude thanks. I’m gonna have to get one of those. I ride a lot of single track/ hard enduro on a 300xc tpi. Had my suspension revalved and shit for the discipline, and kept them air. With full wrap handguards it really makes it a tight squeeze to get my pump on.
Today's Kawasakis, Hondas, and Suzukis would have to be modified with a two-stroke engine and pipe. Even then, that can cost money. May have to find a perviously owned, and used one from the 90s cheap.
What???
this bike is a 4 stroke you idiot!

i dont get it, how does steel braided brake lines improve braking? ive heard this a lot but no explanation why.
When conventional rubber brake lines get hot and you apply brake pressure the pressure from the brake fluid actually expands the brake lines a little bit. So you're losing a little pressure in the brake line where you would ideally want all the pressure on the back of the braking piston in the caliper.
Steel braided lines tend to be a little more resistant against this expanding issue.
So yes braided lines are a little better. Here in the EU we aren't even allowed to put them on our cars 🙈 don´t ask me why
Just curious, how come you guys always state the dry weight for the KTM's? I realize that the bike is still the lightest, but it doesn't weigh 223 lbs full of fluids. It's closer to 230 lbs...
They full of 💩💩
Thanks for the review! I just picked up a 21! I have about 2 hours on it and I noticed that the engine valve train is a bit noisy. Is that something that is common on these 450’s? Thanks
it's common on all 450's
I have same bike same problem. Is your bike harder to start now?
@@stevestiffler9120 it starts fine just seems a little noisy
@@kjohns236 it's the clutch basket me 17 is noisy from day dot. Runs nice as...
@@kjohns236 Yeah i had the same, even started getting worried. But on these ktm 450's it is completely normal
This model has factory recall in Australia for shift drum , lol katmmm, still better the a kawa thou lol.
What about the 21 models? Anything on them?
Yes, Ktm Sxf 450 2022 Need Change Shift Drum.

@@sassafraswakeboyz4121 i dont know, but you call official Ktm Dealer. ✌️🍊
Only thing I don't like about the ktm is the OEM parts are very expensive
Yup
$319AUD for a yz450f piston and $320AUD for a 450sxf piston
@@tcmx712 $113 us yz450f
$471 us ktm 450sxf
@@michaeltrower6792 well that's completely insane that you guys get ripped off that much haha. I always see people complain about the parts cost difference and I'm left there scratching my head as to why but now I know!!!!
@@tcmx712 you all are getting screwed on Yamaha parts though lol
MX bikes and naked girls at the Colorado River rule .. some things never change....
I think enduro riders are faster then supercross riders look at Toby price 👍💪🏾
Change my 250-SXF :)
:)
yo
Who adjusts their sag with a screw driver? Just turn the spring.
ktm n husqvarna leaking the oil why?
Both 💩💩
I'd buy this thing if they ditch the crappy air forks
Well. It may be light, slim, with great components, and orange.., but l still don’t like it. I’ve tried, but l can’t. Not to mention is quite fugly, to boot! 🤔
KTM is the leader with kawasaki......the others?.........LoL..
That’s a bold statement if you consider that Honda is the top selling 450 throughout the world and that Yamaha is leading the AMA outdoor series while KTM is not even top 3…
@@bagargui only names and media factory economies... i'm talking about horsepower and torque...
@@ylmazcem1358 if you want my true opinion, they are all great bikes and the rider makes the difference. Some guys will be Honda lovers, others will like KTM.
If you’re pro caliber, you need to work on the suspensions no matter what bike. Regarding the engines, they all have more than needed.
@@bagargui yes thats right..thanx..
Really looking forward to the 2022 KTM 450sxf Factory....
