Best how- to ever!! straight to the fucking point
Just got my first bike and this video was beyond helpful. From all the little tips about filters and O-ring replacements. Thank you!
I never understood the reasoning for running the bike before u change the oil
motors are designed for the oil to drain to the sump.
Last time u rode the bike it was hot when it was shut off. Oil has had time to settle down to the sump(lowest point) and was probably much warmer than it is by running it for a few minutes
So why spread it out
Unless your gonna leave the plug out over night I don't think it's gonna be any better.
Take a drain pan filled with oil dump it out, now take that drain pan stand it up on edge wait an hour see how much more oil settles to that corner
Move the pan around spreading the oil out before u dump it
does this make sense? basically what doing when u start a motor before changing the oil
Yes, some sound logical points
Thanks for the video! What type of motorcycle lift do you have? I am looking into getting one. Thanks again.
Hello
As for the screw at the bottom, I could not unscrew it. Because his outer teeth are knocked out, I'm thinking of breaking him, but how will I get a new one???
10:52 as a Kawasaki owner i can confirm this😂
Please someone HELP! I have a 2017 KTM SX-F 450 and the right shock (Oil Side) is sliding down when you take off the axle. Any ideas why this might be?
this video is gold shit made it so easy for me
Thanks my dude!
How often do you change oil filter and oil?
Well done, what's up with the castle nut on the linkage?
Thanks! And I let a buddy borrow the nut when mine fell off...forgot about it...wanted to go ride and thats the only nut I could find in the garage that would fit! Haha
Gotta do what ya gotta do.
How often do you change your oil?
Every 4-6hrs of play riding. Every other race (if ya race) use only good brand FULL SYNTHETIC 10w50 engine oil as KTM calls for. Maxima Pro Plus or Motul 300v is all I use. Motorex is great too. 👍🏻 -Michigan
Is it bad to fill up the oil to where at least 3/4 of the sight glass is full with oil? thank you.
Pour in correct amount
Manual say to check the oil at operating temperature. I noticed if I change the oil in the bike warm it up for a few minutes then wait the minute it’s not as full as when I’ve been riding a while and its at operating temp
Amazing
What oil is that 10/40 ?
Crosspower 10/50 or 10/60
Where can I get a p3 header cover like that

I think dirt bikes should have dip sticks because the sight glass is a stupid idea and they're always covered in mud and they're always really hard to see because it's always dark even in a well lit place. You have to use a torch to see anything and it's a pain in the ass and confusing for everyone so really they should have dip sticks like cars have so it's a lot more simple for people.
Absolutely unnecessary. Just measure and pour in the correct amount and be done.
@@mxgryan that's a lot easier said than done by people who have never done it before
@@RBFR01 it's not hard to pour oil into a measuring cup.
What if I only have the smaller Folgers? Lol
Won't work. Lol
I never use a torque wrench, I just tighten it till it strips, then back it off a quarter turn.
Exactly.
I measure the amount of oil I put in my bike, every time.
I don’t rely on the window.
Yup, me too. That is the best way.
Great video Ryan. I have a 2021 KTM 450 SX-F. I appreciate it, thank you.
Thank you so much for those kind words K!
What type fuel do you use /recommend? Just picked up leftover '23 KTM 450SXF from local dealer here in SE Michigan. Fresh out the crate! No floor models. Planning run Maxima Pro Plus or Motul (full- synthetic) 10w50. Thanks.
93 pump gas.
Why not CrossPower?
Thank you for this. I just stepped into the ktm world, I enjoy your instruction. Do you have a rebuild videos for ktm engines 2017 450?
I think i may have some over on the RTi Powersports channel.
You lost me at the beginning with 1 or 1,2 litres… this needs to be very precise if you don’t want to blow the engine…. You are talking about a 20% difference….
HAHAHA, no.
Do you have any start issues or spark plug issues?
Only one time when we had a fuel pump filter fail.
You said something about the 2015 factory edition being the same generation. What do you mean? My bike is a 2015 450 exc-f(actory)
A 2015 factory edition is a 2016-2018 generation bike.
@@mxgryan never knew that. Might explain why I order the wrong parts some times 😱 I will look into it some more
If you feel you put a little too much in is there an easy way t to remove some without a full dump
Thanks man gonna do my 21 factory edition 450 now
Really good video thanks for posting
Thank you 🙏
So we need 1200 cc’s of oil right?
Sounds right to me
