In dirt bikes ktm leads but in superbikes and sports bikes ktm comes no where near Honda or Yamaha

I too rode Kawi for 20+ years till I rode a 2017 Honda and realized what I’d been missing in the cornering department. I have never ridden a KTM but soon will my buddy just bought a 2019 KTM SX that I keep putting off riding for fear I might want one. We got to meet you last week at the dealership, keep up the content bro!

Used to be really sick in about 2011ish, they cut a big chunk of it out a few years ago sadly.

I wanted to bad! I hit it a couple years ago when I was here on my bike...these were just my first laps and I had already test rode about 9 bikes that day haha. A mixutre of being tired, lazy, and a bit scared of suspension I didn't know anything about haha. Thanks for hanging out with me Jon!
My buddy had a Yamaha 250 2 stroke. And a 125 KTM and that KTM about blew the doors off the Yamaha. From that point on I’ve been a big KTM fan
No , no it didn’t . Lol . 125s don’t EVER “blow the doors off” a 250 unless the 250 has something seriously wrong with it . Common sense
I got a 2020.5 ktm 450 xc-f and it has no vibration compared to my 2005 ktm 125, also I love that the motor is very tame compared to the crf450r, yet can still keep up easily

@@gamer2350 A ton of pro desert racers run them and they are extremely reliable because in desert they are wide open for a long time very often. The 2021 suspension they say is better than spring forks

Love the 2020 KTM 450 def the way to go. In a class of its own with the power, speed, how light it is and how it sits/rides. The Austrian bikes are way ahead of the rest(my personal opinion)

what fuel map setting is 2 (soft or hard)? TC on? Can you lug it around real good if needed on the slow map? Do you know what throttle plate they put on? The black opens throttle valve far more quickly. The grey one opens throttle valve more slowly. Grey one is usually on from stock but maybe they put the black one on?
If you listen closely I believe I mentioned these a tad, but
I thought Map 1 was dreadful slow...at least for my weight.
I couldnt notice a difference with TC on or off, so I rode almost all of these laps in Map 2 with TC on.
No idea on the throttle honestly. Although I'm working with a KTM dealer now so I'll be riding these more often and hopefully be able to get better feedback.
I bet that Map 1 would be nice on the trails.

How's the vibration in the handlebars someone said it was really noticeable
its a slight bit more than my 2016 KX, but not bad. KTM got rid of most of that in the 2016 model.
Just for interest , I,am an old XT500 rider did al kind of fun stuff with it, how can i compare if ever possible The XT whit this 2020 KTM 450SXF or a 2020 ktm 300 xc-w.
PS: I,am now 65 years not in shape to do any serious of road riding anymore . did not ride for 30 years .In that time we had a whole 38 horse with a supertrap exhaust and a different camshaft , i know it is old tech .
You can't compare, at least I cant, because I have no experience on an XT500. All i can say is, these new four strokes are so smooth.

Just standard boots and a black leather jacket and some bike gloves, and an old fashioned helmet

I’m looking to upgrade to new bike from my 14 yz250f I’m weekend warrior type rider working full time. Our these newer bikes from 18-20 gonna be a giant upgrade compared to my 14 yz250f or will I not notice much? Sorry if that sounds like a stupid question lol just wanna make sure it’s worth the money to upgrade

Do they do open practice to the public I was on their site and it looked like members only. I’m from Morgantown WV so it’s only a 2 hr drive
I'm not sure if they do anymore, but the public can always get in during the Turkey Run every fall, which is what this was. WVU is coll but I'm herd alum!

Listen I like KTM... There just expensive. I did like the fact they came out with a SX 300 or 350. May get one when Im older but Ill probably get a YZ 250, a CR 250, or a KX 250.... I just like 2 strokes better.
With rebates you can pick up a 450 for 9000...got to a demo and get a 500 off card and there's 8500. A new kawasaki even retails at 9600 or 9700 now. There's a litter difference...but the quality of machining on these KTMs is far superior dude. 2 strokes are cool to ride, just not to race in moto against four strokes.
@@mxgryan I mean yeah but my family is more of a, lets say, we like buying used dirtbikes. I only know one person in my family that buys new dirtbikes, or quads. But I like working on the old bikes. Right now I only have a RM 85, I mean Im a small kid. But I love that RM 85, but I heard that RM 250's and RMZ 250's+ aren't really that good... But hell with it, if it rides like hell on wheels I'm down to try it out.

How did it compare to your 2016 KX would it be the bike to buy or would you look at a 2020 Kawasaki???
It had a few significant improvements over my 16 KX...But the 20 KX is an amazing bike too. What would I do? I'd choose the bike based on your relationship with your local shops. Do you have a more local KTM or KX? Which one stocks more parts? Which one helps you more? Which one would throw your bike on the computer if i tstarts throwing a code randomly? That was what I based my decision on.
I like map 1. Less powerful
Tried that in a couple other videos. Its a nice mild hit but its for harder for me to jump things right out of a corner.
What's the two different maps

Not a bad choice, the 350 is amazing! I ride the 4450 just for the added longevity mostly.
You need to be on skatey or slippery surface to feel traction control . Looks like you had full traction here so of course it won’t do anything
I've owned this bike since 2019 and have never noticed it.
