A storm is breaking to be on the Magnificent Century.
Who is the person who saves Sultana Hatice's life? Will Ibrahim Pasha be able to win Sultana Hatice's heart again? Will the oath-taking ceremony cause Prince Mehmet and Prince Mustafa fall out of each other? Will Sultana Hurrem be able to learn who Firuze is that she keeps getting closer with?
Gulsah rises Hurrem's bait and attempts killing Sultana Hatice.
Sultan Suleiman and Ibrahim Pasha returns from the east expedition to the capital. Mustafa who has been the regent prepares to get back to Manisa with Mahidevran. Prince Mehmet gets accepted in the guild of janissaries with a majestic oath-taking ceremony.
Gulsah who has attempted to kill Sultana Hatice becomes a victim of a dangerous plot. Mahidevran doesn't believe that Gulsah has attempted that alone. However, Hurrem has already planned everything that she can brush off this problem.
Hurrem keeps Firuze with her without knowing that she is the woman she has been looking for and Nigar chooses keeping silent even if she knows the truth!
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

God, the parallels that Firuze has with Hürrem are off the charts and, admittedly, one of the reasons why, despite disliking it's placement in the timeline of the show, I consider it the best written "other woman" plot arc the show has. Still, there's a part of me that always somewhat wishes Firuze could have actually wound up a concubine of Mehmed's (perhaps the mother of his one famous daughter?). It was wonderful to see Hürrem have a friendship with another woman for once, not to mention one that she'd want to make family in such a way as this.

No nuance comes thru, either becos of writing or becos of the actress.

    • @Laura.Vanadzina
      @Laura.Vanadzina 11 месяцев назад +1

This is another thing totally. Hurrem is a woman deeply in love and jealous, even afraid to lose her beloved to another woman.
Also, who do you call "clandestine romance"? Firuze or Hurrem? Sure, Suleiman had a whole harem, but one woman from that harem was bound to catch his attention more than others at least from time to time. Some were more beautiful, smarter, more interesting than the others. Suleiman was an intelligent man, and physical beauty was not the only thing that he was interested in.
Besides, Hurrem is founded on a real historical character. Suleiman really fell in love (obviously) with a concubine from his harem, had five children with her, officially married her, making her his only wife, sultana and haseki for the first time in history and, when she died, ordered her to be buried in the great Hagia Sofia (mosque) which was built in his time and where he himself was buried later. And all of that despite having a large harem of women to choose from. So, Hurrem knew better than anyone that something similar could happen again. Well, if not all of it, then at least some of it. Suleiman could have and had a new favorite (at least in the TV series).

This is harem. In reality, no male stranger could enter the harem, except the Sultan. The other males are eunuchs and since only women were around these Sultanas, they could show skin. Notice how they cover up when they go outside

I dont know why everybody fawns all over Hurrems supposed "great beaury." There are plenty of women in that show more gorgeous than she.
Mahidevran, Firuze, Hatice, Gulfem, Even Nigar.
And you cant gaslight anyone into believing H is prettier than the beautiful princess Isabella.
Compared to them, the redhead is crazy, desperate, needy, and chubby.

It's in the eye of the beholder. I like her more than the other women in the show. 😊
