Well done on that section always tricky especially with the rain , blisters are a bummer, I’m heading off this coming week on the WHW and have considered the high road just to miss out on some of the rocky parts , so thank you for sharing your walk , and plenty time to start where you finished off next time . 🥾😊
I was always planning on the high road, especially this time of year. Wanted to maximise daylight. We seen a couple walk past us at rowandennan hotel while we were having lunch, we where still sat an extra hour but we still past them while went down the low road so it’s definitely a good hour quicker. We’re hoping for maybe a month or so. Preferably before midges get too bad but at least we’re past Loch Lomond which is one of the worst for midges as well as that section too. Good luck! Please let me know how you get on. Fingers crossed you get the weather on your side
Nice one guys. Well done and a sensible decision. No point slogging on just for the sake of it if you’re injured and not enjoying it. It’s all learning for next time 👍. ATB
We’ll hopefully get it finished in a few weeks then I can put focus on the Skye trail. Want that done by the summer. Her feet felt better about 3 days later so we definitely made the right choice, she would have been in far too much pain on the next stages. Catching up with yours among a few others tonight actually, that’s Fridays for me usually 😊. Atb Dave
Well done for getting that far guys, not an easy task especially from Rowardennan to Beinglas. If I was ever to do it again I would certainly be doing it in two parts crashing out at Inversnaid. We done the full stretch from Sallochy campsite to Beinglas and we were absolutely wrecked when we got there.
If we had the time spare I’d had suggested just having a day at inversnaud and restarting the following day but we only had a few days spare. Nice to know when we restart we’ve done that stretch of Loch Lomond and all the nice bits are ahead
Cracking video Robert 😍👌🏻…Enjoyed that mate..Camped on that side of Loch Lomond quite a few times..It’s so beautiful..Also camped on Dumgoyne 😁🏕️..The Inversnaid hotel looks pretty good 😁..Shame about Caitlin’s blisters..These things happen ..No point in carrying on in pain..As you said you can go back up and do the rest another day 😁..Great vlog mate. Cheers Robert
Earmarked a fair few spots while I was walking to be honest. You’re gonna have to invite me on one of your camps. I love loch side camps. Aye I seen a video of yours up on dumgoyne a while ago. We’re gonna go up in a few weeks and start at beinglas and get it finished. Then at some point probably next year repeat it all as a full again. Cheers for watching Robert.
It was brand new trail trainers that caused the blisters. The mileage was spot on. Neither of us felt particularly tired when we finished, just frustrated the blisters were as bad.
@@Moffatmountainadventures That's a shame . Hopefully you can finish the rest of the walk . I live in Milngavie , lucky to be able to walk some of the route when I want .
Well done guys, you were making cracking progress, but hey, shit happens, tomorrow is another day.
Exactly. It’ll be there for the next time we decide to go for it
