I had a 2011 Subaru legacy that I liked very much. I had all recommended maintenance and long story short the water pump froze and warped a head gasket at 94K miles. I like the look of the Crosstrek, but would be very hesitant to purchase another Subaru. Under the car was full of rust. I live in a mid Atlantic State and drive like : a little old lady".
I was thinking of getting a new Outback. They're going for 39k avg at the local Subaru dealership. How do you feel about the Outback? I've heard good things. My only problem is I'm very tall from the waist up. Headroom is crucial for me. Not sure if I can fit in it. Lol.
@johnjacobs1776 I work in sales at a subaru dealership. I'm 6' 2" and I can comfortably fit in the outback. Front and back. Leg room and head room. If ur too concerned w head room get one without a moonroof. It's honestly my favorite in our entire lineup, I plan on getting a wilderness edition for myself once my student loans are paid off.
@@grege9244 Awesome. Thanks for the information. I'll go and look at them asap. I really like the green color with the tan interior. Great combination. Have a good day.
@johnjacobs1776 the autumn green is also my favorite. Tan interior is only in the touring trim which puts you around 42k. The wilderness starts at 42 as well, both fully loaded come in at 44-45 but they have the turbo. The wilderness has insane gear ratio-that plus the turbo makes it surprisingly fast. Like might beat a wrx from red-light to red-light 🤯
@@grege9244Again, thank you for the information. I thought the limited had a tan interior but I stand corrected. I saw they revamped the wilderness edition for 2024. Subaru are very nice and are not super high priced like some of these other brand dealers. I've never had a CVT transmission but ive heard good things about it. Most cars are outrageously priced especially truck and suvs. There's so many unsold...and repos at an all time high. Subaru isn't as expensive for what you get. Plus they have great warranties. Enjoy your new wilderness edition and have a good rest of the weekend.
I lived in Colorado for 19 years. There are TWO cars that can do the snow. One is Audi and who wants to pay for that? The other is Suburu and they rock.
Subarus are incredible in the snow. If you don’t live where it snows, Toyota or Honda probably has the edge for reliability. But in the snow Subaru blows everyone else out of the water. A Subaru with all seasons is comparable to an awd rav4 with snow tires. And a Subaru with snow tires is basically a snow cat.
I had a 2021 Crosstrek Outdoor (sport in the states) up until my current 2023 Crosstrek PHEV. I absolutely love Crosstreks. The Crosstrek allows me to carry all of my tools, photography equipment, bikes, kayaks, snowboards, etc and can handle all weather conditions and all of the offroad situations that I throw at it. The safety features are fantastic, the gas mileage is great and they are fun to drive. Truly awesome vehicles.
I'm pretty sure just about every other car on the road can also carry that stuff so I'm confused as to why you mention it being like some magical feature. In fact more other vehicles can carry *more*.
@@manofscience5839 I have not owned a Camry, but I drive a lot in city and on highway. The Crosstrek PHEV is a fabulous ride and tuned a little softer since it is made to offroad. I love driving long distance in my Trek and she rides smoothly offroad and on highway for many hours. Both my outdoor with the weather seats and my PHEV with leather seats are really comfy!
@@jayconstancio711 this is the kind of stuff that keeps me away from other car brands. I hear good things about one brand from scotty then I hear all the horror stories from the commenters. I don’t hear horror stories about Honda and toyota so I think thats what I’m going to stick with. Every time i’ve ventured off to another car brand I have been sorely disappointed. I see a lot of subaru suv’s driving around but now I know its because of the price point and not reliability.
@@ButtmanAtHeartit sucks when there’s no variety in reliability. It means Toyota and Honda can charge more and remove features knowing very well people will keep buying their cars for reliability. We bought a new 2022 Legacy and I did my research. Great value car! Except I’m on my 3rd windshield in 9 months. Due to the eyesight vehicle collision system the windshield in thinner and cracks very easy. Bought the Diamond Fusion glass protection which is basically buying a warranty for 5 years. Otherwise it’s a great car!
Get the Chinese glass... Fuyao or whatever it is... it's OEM on Cadillacs and it tough as nails! And yes, I have EyeSight, no issues 3 years and 25k mi later!
I have a 2020 Forester, which I bought new at the time, and my mom has a 2022 Legacy which she's had for a year. Neither of them had to have the original windshield changed, both of them have Eyesight systems. Are you sure your installer isn't messing up somehow? Because this doesn't resemble my experience at all. Only Subaru I've had to have the windshield changed on was a 2015 Forester a while ago. It didn't have Eyesight. Just a rock flew off a truck and struck it while I was driving.
My '09 WRX rusted out hard, primarily in the rocker panels. Because of this I'm been rustproofing my '19 Crosstrek religiously. 4 years (today actually), and 109,000km on some fairly ridiculous roads.
How do you rustproof a car? I got a new Tacoma and live in south Chicago where a lot of crackhead live and roads are horrible and lots of salt and snow in winter and lots of humidity in summer
In 2018 I needed a truck for hauling water up and down the rocky mountains. The trucks were insanely crazy expensive, but they had a 2016 outback limited with 63K miles for $18K (HALF Price from New!) it had seat damage from a small dogs claws. I now have 234K miles on it- CVT works perfectly for climbing mountains with Full Load! (1400+lbs) Never been stuck, no oil leaks! PLUS The insurance is HALF that of a truck's insurance cost- because they label it a "Station wagon" lol ;)
This is good to know about the towing with the Outbacks! I want to buy an outback because the towing on the non-turbo models is 2750 lbs I believe. I have a 13 ft 1500 lb camper I want to tow it with. Don't want a turbo because Scotty says the engines wear out sooner.
I thought Scotty didn't like Subaru. They have one of the best 100k/10 yr extended warranties. It's an exclusionary policy that actually covers most things, the price is reasonable, and it's transferable.
Would have been nice if they had it for my 2013 Forester, with its oil consumption problem that led to catastrophic failure 500 miles before my next oil change was due. They had recently discovered this problem, posted a bulletin, and extended the warranty coverage to replace the engine if it caused a problem before 100k miles and 8 years. My car had 96k miles, but was 8 years, 7 months old. This of course was in June 2021, at which point many people had been driving a lot less for 15 months. Had I driven it normally in 2020, the problem likely would have presented itself at a similar mileage but before the 8 year mark (which was October 2020). It would take a lot more new reliability history for me to buy another Subaru. After wrecking my 2015 Volvo two years later, I am now the proud owner of a 2004 Corolla. It's not perfect aesthetically OR mechanically, but it drives fine and it cost me $1500, which was more than what a friend was asking for it.
@@braceyourselvesfortruth2492 If it failed because you didn't keep oil in it, it probably wouldn't have been covered. Apparently they think using a, quart between oil changes is normal. I'm currently using 1/2 quart between oil changes. It's a 2019 Legacy 2.5 with 65k miles. It's getting traded in when the warranty is up.
Unfortunately, words out on the Crosstrek now.. Base model Canada 2022 24K, 2023 25k, now 2024 31.5 K almost a Rav 4, still worth it, but no longer a steal. Outback too has shot up! Used is high too.
Got my 24 Crosstrek for 28K; bought it the day after the Labor Day sale started, reducing price to manufacturer's cost. Never had a Subaru, already took this one on a road trip. I was going to get a used RAV; this turned out to be better for the cost. Plus the warranty.
Yeah I just purchased a 2016 Subaru Outback 3.6r Limited and for a good price, has 110K on it, two weeks in the alternator died and the dealer replaced that, the battery and the starter, no cost. Not bad, I just drove it 500 miles to LA and it did great. So far I am happy.
I’d a couple of rebuilt cars and never had any problems with them, I was fortunate as I knew the mechanic who was repairing them, got them for considerably less than a comparable year car and put 200,000 miles on both of them, reputable guys do fix them properly but that was before all the computers and sensors that are on more modern cars nowadays,
Just bought a 2nd car a 2019 Subaru Impreza. Gotta say it handles well gets 38MPG and best of all AWD. Interior is also nice also, can’t complain about it. Hope it lasts forever. 4 years old only 20,000 miles hopefully a steal
I'll stay with my 2000 Toyota Tacoma pickup with 234,000+ miles until NYS Salt finally rots the frame out on it. Still runs great. I'd still buy a used Toyota Rav 4 with a better engine and transmission that will last longer than a Subaru. You get what you pay for when you buy a Toyota compared to anything else. I've been driving Toyotas since 1983, 7 vehicles, 3 cars, 4 trucks. I run them until they won't pass NYS Inspection anymore.
Subaru is one of the most underrated brands plenty of false propaganda about Subaru. I have seen plenty of them between two and 300,000 with no issues and they drive like anything else very similar to driving Porsches because of the boxer motor and the all wheel drive. The dependability on my 2015 outback is as good as any Toyota I have owned and I have owned many many different brands
I bought a 2018 crosstrek premium with the 6 speed manual. That car was the epitome of a budget car. It was spacioua but everything else was cheap and low performance. I ended up upgrading to a 2019 mazda 3 premium hatchback with a 6 speed and that was a massive increase in performance and quality.
Yup, had an Impreza RS 2005, I had to follow a crazy expensive mandatory maintenance schedule and I did (like THOUSANDS by visits). Only to have the engine AND the rear differential diyng 10k kilometers after the guarantee expired. 3500$ for the engine and the rear diff was 2500$. That was 10 years ago. Never bought another Subaru in my life. Ho, and that engine sucked a solid 28mpg all the time, no matter how smooth I would ride it. Only good thing about this Impreza was that I could fit a whole washing machine in the back and close the hatch.
Bought a 16 brand new,ran that baby on the floor 80% of the time. Couldn't break it,traded in for a 22 Outback Touring. It was junk, sold it,getting a 24 Crosstrek base. Mainly for a cross country road trips. Hope it works out.
I've had a '23 Crosstrek Premium manual 6speed for four months, 6000 miles. I'm getting 35 to 42 MPG, it is comfortable, more than adequately powerful, and a little more passenger space and a little more cargo volume than my '73 Dodge Coronet (marketed as mis-size but the numbers said full-size). I looked at a four-year-old 44000 mile impreza and the price was within $1k of the new Crosstrek out the door. It was a 3-month wait to get the manual, but after driving a CVT Crosstrek I bought the manual while I could still get it.
Once again Scotty .. Thanks for the honest review of the Subaru.. Keeps me working.. Soon will be building the wilderness version of the crosstrek .. Looks good with the beefy tires and skid plates.. As always keep it up Scotty
You work at the Subaru plant? I've ordered the Crosstrek Wilderness a few days after the reveal and I can't wait to have it! Would you know when the build should start and when dealers should expect receiving them? Thanks.
@@idontcare2022 Thank you so much for getting back to me! Wow seriously in about a month? That's sooner that I thought considering it's not even listed yet for configuration on the Subaru website. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
I had an 05 WRX back in the day. Incredibly fun vehicle and very reliable. I personally could not drive the Crosstrek on a daily basis. It's just too slow and that CVT kills any performance
My wife and I own a 2019 Impreza Sedan. At 70,000 miles we had the head gasket, both front struts, control arms, ball joints replaced. All those were covered under warranty. We paid $100 plus tax. We also had the transmission and transfer case fluid, rear brake pads, oil, and air filter replaced at the same time. We had a 2004 Impreza Sedan before we bought the new Impreza. It had over 250,000 miles on it and still drove like it was almost brand new because we kept up with maintenance.
It is always nice to hear the story of a car having a happy ending. Subaru rarely disappoints even the older ones can impress. Maintenance will go a long way you are absolutely right!
@@b469b Did you miss his laundry list of failed parts with the '19 Impreza?? Not a good sign, even if he was lucky it happened during the warranty period.
Something Subaru has that hardly anyone else has is the standard 8.7 of ground clearance! On top of the legendary extremely capable symmetrical awd system!!
I’ve seen newer cars around this year being hauled away on scrap car tow trucks totaled and all it had for damage was minor Dent In door on a 2017 rav4 and no air bag deployments and a Subaru that needed a headlight and bumper only (radiator was fine ect) also no airbag deployment. Sold for few thousand bucks. It’s insane how easy cars are totaled out. I have a scrap yard on my street so I see cars coming and going. They even have a lot where they fix some to sell or sell damaged ones wholesale
That CVT talk has been there for ages. Nissan had serious problems with it yes, but Subaru and Honda almost perfected the tech. Any new tech is faulty at the beginning, but it gets better with time as they work on the faults.
We have a Subaru 2013 Impreza and right after warranty went out it started using oil , Subaru wouldn’t fix it, then transmission went out, they want us to split the cost of a new transmission of 10k, crooks and liars at Winchester Va Subaru . Like the transmission installed is 10k, they get it for 1200-1400 and pay out the same for installation. We will never buy another Subaru.
That's enough info. for me not to buy one. That's a bad dealer and bad automaker that won't repair their faulty product. Scheisty dealer trying to play games with you too. No thanks. I'll stuck Toyota where I hardly ever have to deal with the dealer, although they are just as scheisty.
If I’m not mistaken the Impreza/crosstrek is rated for towing in Europe not the US. I drove my 2k lb trailer from California to Oklahoma with zero issues behind my 2015 Impreza sport limited.
Bought a used 2015 crosstrek and been driving it for 7 years now. Used it to drive across US but mostly across utah and co working as a travel nurse. It has 179k miles as of today, i also have subaru ascent bought it lastyear as a family car and is now giving me problems.
I really like this Subaru. Other than potential oil leaks in the future, it's a very nice car. Aftermarket gaskets could have this car on the road a very long time! The hub caps look sharp too!
Most people I know who have Subarus keep them going for 200k+. And these aren't car people/fastidious about maintenance. They consider 150k a long lasting car. Subaru is no Toyota, but their problems tend not to be "throw the whole car out" bad.
Love my 2011 Suburu Outback which I bought new. Love the 4cyl boxer engine, the low centre of gravity, the CVT 'transmission'' and the suspension. Love the ride and the reliability. Would buy again.
Their a sporty car but there is no room behind the back seat. 3 bags of groceries or 1 suit case and your maxed out! I like the Forester but I bought a Honda CRV it has much more apeal. The RAV looked to cheap on the inside. Subaru charged $2400 to replace the valve cover gaskets on my 16 Outback. That did include front brakes.
I’ve had a HORRIBLE experience with my 2016 Subaru Impreza sport (very similar to the crosstrek). In 60K miles, I’ve had to replace the CVT transmission ($8K), wheel bearings, one strut, and strut mounts. All of this on top of regular maintenance (I’m meticulous about this). I even replaced the transmission fluid at 40K to play it safe, and the transmission still fell apart. Don’t touch a Subaru with a CVT. Or any CVT for that matter. I think I might like it a lot more if it were a manual! 😂
I have a 22 crosstrek sport and I sold my 2001 Wrangler before getting it. That TJ was my first car and that Subaru blows it out of the water. Old jeeps are good, but the Crosstrek is REALLY good.
@jaysmith179 The jeep was leaking from the valve cover gasket. Heater core leaked, water pump leaked, radiator and hoses were leaking, tires got a bullet in them, soft top was dry rotting, radio reciever vandalized, and muffler hanger broke off. All at around 90k-100k miles. Yes all of it got fixed, but it was not cheap. That's not including all the maintenance done not long after I got it. 68k miles was when I got it.
@@abitofapickle6255I totally believe all that but someone got a deal on that jeep. And I'm not the first to say hey, look! A JEEP. Now it's like "Hey! Look at that previously rich guy or girl".😂
The best car I ever had was a '79 Subaru Leone sport coupe that I got for $50.00. Outside of normal maintenance, the only problem was when the clutch spring broke. That cost a whopping $2.00, and three minutes to fix.
CVT is a deal breaker. They are about as fun to drive as a golf cart. It took me a while to find a manual Crosstrek, but glad I did... My 2017 has been totally trouble free so far with 50 k...
The Toyota hybrid vehicles have an E-CVT transmission. Completely different animal as compared with the conventional CVT transmission. More dependable and longer lasting than the than the CVT. You need to update your info Scotty.
If you live in warm climate and no snow states, get toyota or honda. But if you live in northern states with snow in the Winter, get the subaru. Thank me later.
It's a shame that the oil pan is sealed with silicone on a Subaru rather than a gasket..I had a 1991 Nissan Sentra and it leaked oil at 60,000 miles because the silicone sealing the oil pan wire out
I have a 2024 Crosstrek Sport, I'm really liking it so far. I've been averaging 29 mpg (not "driving like a maniac ", though). I like the size of it, it not really long. Also, Subaru has a safety feature many other new cars don't offer yet: side view mirrors that dim (sooooo nice especially when driving at night).
on my 4th Subaru and I've had a lot of cars as i worked at a used car place for years, these have a low center of gravity great for the road in snow only thing close is an Audi I buy outbacks my 1st subaru I got from my dad when it died it was well over 600k
I am trying for one million miles on my 2001 legacy , so far up to 300.00 miles and you can still see the factory cross hatches on the cylinder walls all as even as can be , just like brand new
Subaru screwed me with a nightmare tribeca. Tried to get me into an Ascent but forgot to weld key parts of the Ascent frame. Fortunately I read it in the news. Subaru denied all the design problems to my face in a "gee we've not seen that before" attitude. Run.
I had a '13 Impreza that was going through oil like crazy. Subaru did a consumption test and told me the car was indeed losing oil, but "at a normal rate." It's tough to trust a brand after that.
I have a 2016 impreza, which is basically a lower crosstek and the only thing I really don't like is how long it takes to go from reverse to forward. Sometimes I put it in neutral while still backing up in hopes it will be ready to go forward sooner.
This is actually from a real Subaru owner: I made it a whole 300 miles in my brand new Crosstrek 2024 sport (yeah the fancy one with yellow stripe and all) before It forced a full stop on me while driving!! Do I need to repeat that vehicle was in 'D' mode when the computer decided its time to full stop??!. It locked the gear shift, it locked the steering, it disconnected the electronic throttle. Even the Starlink emergency button quit. Subaru towed it away 3 weeks ago. If I had been on the freeway, not in turtle mode, it could have killed me! Not sure if I even want it back. Subaru, I'm afraid of my Subaru!!!
Scotty, my two ideal cars would be a subaru crosstrek and a tacoma. What is your opinion on the crosstrek, would be fro snowboarding and stacking miles on for road trips.
The Impreza is the cheapest AWD car. It has a hand brake. The Crosstrek has electric parking brake and the sensor breaks off the calipers, and when Subaru discontinues the part you won't be able to fix electric parking brakes. So the cheapest Subaru is the most reliable.
I bought 2024 Crosstrek premium, love it. Could’ve bought the 2.5 liter but I rather have Japan made 2.0 liter with a better build quality. Sorry Indiana 😂, Japan knows how to make better cars.
Surprised how much I like the car. Don’t need four-wheel-drive as I live in Texas and don’t do any off-roading. Brother works for Subaru so he got me a great deal that was hard to pass up, otherwise I wouldn’t know how great this car is.
I had 3 CVT cars from Subaru, years 2013, 2014 and 2017. All of them were awful. I hope they have fixed their issues. I like Subaru and miss my conventional automatic transmission one that was totaled in a wreck.
Really? I have a brand new RAV4, made in JP, 3 times in dealer for servicing, nothing solved. The dash and the front suspension make noises and the engine rattles. My old CHR run smoothly until the day I sold it. … now looking to change to Subarus
He got 34 MPG? That's nuts. I have a 2007 Impreza and it's great; but it gets 19 mpg city and a little better on the highway I guess. That 60 liter tank goes pretty quick.
I’ve got a 22 Crosstrek sport, going to and from work in DFW I average between 28-35 mpg lol. If I have a lot of stop and go traffic, I do see a drop, but hwy driving it gets great gas mileage
My 2018 Subaru Forester has only 32000 miles and has cost me 1500.00 for ac compressor, now I need ac fan, which dealor tells me will cost 900.00 .😢 I can't wait to trade it in.

Good luck, you’ll need it! Hahahaha 😂🎉😢
Dang, I got a 23 ascent touring not even a month ago and I did opt to get the windshield protection plan
Ceramic wrap the windshield
What i can't understand is why car companies do not just say "We charged you $5 extra dollars for this gasket which will save you thousands"!
@TragickSin u can get a spray and get done and get to work lol or take it to a shop , but if u have the time can wash the car every 2 weeks
How do you climb the rockies with a cvt. I always did it with my automatic by shifting the gears? What do u do with a cvt? The paddle shifters?
This is good to know about the towing with the Outbacks! I want to buy an outback because the towing on the non-turbo models is 2750 lbs I believe. I have a 13 ft 1500 lb camper I want to tow it with. Don't want a turbo because Scotty says the engines wear out sooner.
I have a 23 Crosstrek premium with the 6spd manual transmission. Love the car. Wish they didn't get rid of the manual for new models.
Love Subaru quality, performance and reliability.
I think Subaru gives you a much more honest a deal on a car sale now then Toyota does. Also Mazda as well. Thank you for this.
I never understood why our Subaru Impreza leaked oil but the silicone gaskets makes perfect sense. Thanks for (another) great video !
I am very pleased with myself for buying one of the last 6 speed manual Crosstreks. It really is a great little car.
My dear Scotty, sorry for putting your video on 2x speed :D You look like a music conductor!
I thought Scotty didn't like Subaru. They have one of the best 100k/10 yr extended warranties. It's an exclusionary policy that actually covers most things, the price is reasonable, and it's transferable.
@metalhead6526 Mostly out for views I think.
@metalhead6526and how much he hates electric cars
Toyota used to be the best, but their pricing and availability is bringing down some of their advantages
I can't wait to upgrade from my Corolla to a Crosstrek 🤩 It's all I need and want!
Unfortunately, words out on the Crosstrek now.. Base model Canada 2022 24K, 2023 25k, now 2024 31.5 K almost a Rav 4, still worth it, but no longer a steal. Outback too has shot up! Used is high too.
That's just manufacturer or dealership greed, right? It's not because of parts but being available.
Got my 24 Crosstrek for 28K; bought it the day after the Labor Day sale started, reducing price to manufacturer's cost.
Never had a Subaru, already took this one on a road trip. I was going to get a used RAV; this turned out to be better for the cost. Plus the warranty.
^^^ the used RAV was going for 23K-25K. At nearly double the interest rate.
@@pickyourswitchoriginal I have a new 23, great car for the price, especially if you drive trails, no complaints…
3 months from now, “worst car ever!!” 😆
In dream maybe
No way. Subarus are excellent vehicles.
@@etothejbut not as good as Toyotas

Don’t forget, Subaru is owned and manufactured by Toyota.
just ordered my 2024 crosstrek
I’d a couple of rebuilt cars and never had any problems with them, I was fortunate as I knew the mechanic who was repairing them, got them for considerably less than a comparable year car and put 200,000 miles on both of them, reputable guys do fix them properly but that was before all the computers and sensors that are on more modern cars nowadays,
Just bought a 2nd car a 2019 Subaru Impreza. Gotta say it handles well gets 38MPG and best of all AWD. Interior is also nice also, can’t complain about it. Hope it lasts forever. 4 years old only 20,000 miles hopefully a steal
i bought a 2023 Toyota Rav 4 i very happy with it.
Yup , mazda every day
I still daily my manual 2004 Impreza at 300k. It's featureless but doesn't matter when it's fun to drive.
Subarus are good because they are made in your NEW favorite state. Indiana!!
Great advice on the years-later Subaru oil leaks.
I have a 2018 Subaru Forester XT. It’s never needed any service. It’s fun to drive.
Why don't u switch brands and get a mazda lol u keep switch cause you're not happy lol
Scotty should have been a symphony conductor....
I have a Subaru outback 2014 from new and runs very well.
Same. It's absolutely insane how capable it is on snow and ice, especially with studded tires.
I love my 2014 Outback 3.6 RS. The odometer just turned 44,000 miles....probably the last car I will ever own. 😁
Thanks.
I can only guess right now.. but if you don’t mind I can find out for sure and post it here possibly tomorrow.. Thanks for buying a Subaru.
Ok found out should be hitting dealers in about a month.. As long as we stop the part issues..
Dayum Scotty, you could prolly conduct a symphony orchestra w that handratty fulfilled gestures...
Something Subaru has that hardly anyone else has is the standard 8.7 of ground clearance! On top of the legendary extremely capable symmetrical awd system!!
Facts. My old Geo Metro has better ground clearance than most Toyotas' or Hondas'.
I put 100k on my 2018 Crosstrek. Solid car, has no issues aside from a cracked windshield lol
100k for most Japanese vehicles is nothing though. I expect 200k with minimal issue like with my nissan xterras
I’ve seen newer cars around this year being hauled away on scrap car tow trucks totaled and all it had for damage was minor
Dent In door on a 2017 rav4 and no air bag deployments and a Subaru that needed a headlight and bumper only (radiator was fine ect) also no airbag deployment.
Sold for few thousand bucks.
It’s insane how easy cars are totaled out.
I have a scrap yard on my street so I see cars coming and going.
They even have a lot where they fix some to sell or sell damaged ones wholesale
Thank you for the video. Blessings to you.
That CVT talk has been there for ages. Nissan had serious problems with it yes, but Subaru and Honda almost perfected the tech. Any new tech is faulty at the beginning, but it gets better with time as they work on the faults.
They're still busy working them out. CVTs cannot be fully trusted yet.
for sure. Honda, Toyota and Subaru CVT's are pretty bulletproof w "non crazy driving"
Did you stay on top of the service and maintenance of the transmission?
@@ithinkaboutthings9052I'll answer that for them, NO.
They never had the transmission fluid changed 1 time during ownership.
All maintenance was done by winchester Subaru up to 100k miles, my wife paid for extended warranty and services. So you don’t know it all.
But did they do the services?
I loved the Pringles can repair
It's very interesting how you say, "I don't trust......" and then you advise people to lie. VERY INTERESTING!
If I’m not mistaken the Impreza/crosstrek is rated for towing in Europe not the US. I drove my 2k lb trailer from California to Oklahoma with zero issues behind my 2015 Impreza sport limited.
I'm on my fifth Subaru, they are a great overall value.
Bought a used 2015 crosstrek and been driving it for 7 years now. Used it to drive across US but mostly across utah and co working as a travel nurse. It has 179k miles as of today, i also have subaru ascent bought it lastyear as a family car and is now giving me problems.
Subaru great vehicle. Better than my Honda in value with comfortable seats. Plus it's a well made vehicle.
I really like this Subaru. Other than potential oil leaks in the future, it's a very nice car. Aftermarket gaskets could have this car on the road a very long time! The hub caps look sharp too!
Aftermarket head gaskets put mine on the road for another 1500 miles.
Most people I know who have Subarus keep them going for 200k+. And these aren't car people/fastidious about maintenance. They consider 150k a long lasting car. Subaru is no Toyota, but their problems tend not to be "throw the whole car out" bad.
@@GamerKiwieveryone I know with a subaru has oil issues and my other coworker got her cvt replaced at 120k in her crossdress...

I don't know, Scottie. I think i'm looking for something with a higher build quality. Like a Fiat.
Great. Maybe I could interest you in a used MG?
I have a 22 crosstrek sport and I sold my 2001 Wrangler before getting it. That TJ was my first car and that Subaru blows it out of the water. Old jeeps are good, but the Crosstrek is REALLY good.
Wait until the head gaskets start to leak.
It’s been 10 years since gasket problems
Have a 23 and 24 Crosstrek. Love um
Lol @ 1:18 he gives the other car a middle finger 😅

If you live in warm climate and no snow states, get toyota or honda. But if you live in northern states with snow in the Winter, get the subaru. Thank me later.
It's a shame that the oil pan is sealed with silicone on a Subaru rather than a gasket..I had a 1991 Nissan Sentra and it leaked oil at 60,000 miles because the silicone sealing the oil pan wire out
I have a 2024 Crosstrek Sport, I'm really liking it so far. I've been averaging 29 mpg (not "driving like a maniac ", though). I like the size of it, it not really long. You are comparing the price to the larger Honda. The Subaru is more comparable to the Honda HR-V, which is priced about the same.
Subaru is a nice competition and an alternative to Toyotas and Hondas. Although I would not drive CVT or auto, I prefer manual.
Currently have a Legacy and a Crosstrek. Love them both.
We used to have an older Legacy and a Forester. No issues with any of them.
The hybrid rav4's come with a cvt, BUT it is one of the best, if not the best cvt ever made. period.

Just reserved a Subaru crosstrek, thanks Scotty!
How long have you had it?
Please..i owned a Subaru and it was a lemon…then i woke up and bought a toyota…👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Oh wow that scares me! I bought a sport 3 days ago, have you done research, has anyone else had this problem?
Great info Scotty
Scotty, my two ideal cars would be a subaru crosstrek and a tacoma. What is your opinion on the crosstrek, would be fro snowboarding and stacking miles on for road trips.

@@Hardcase94 really, is Outback better? I’m a subie noob. Never had one. Why is Outback better?

The Impreza is the cheapest AWD car. It has a hand brake. The Crosstrek has electric parking brake and the sensor breaks off the calipers, and when Subaru discontinues the part you won't be able to fix electric parking brakes. So the cheapest Subaru is the most reliable.
On my 6th subie, soon to be 7th, there's a reason. Yes I'm in Colorado 😂

Surprised how much I like the car. Don’t need four-wheel-drive as I live in Texas and don’t do any off-roading. Brother works for Subaru so he got me a great deal that was hard to pass up, otherwise I wouldn’t know how great this car is.
Scotty may have opened up a case for Subaru to look into the converter matter.
I had 3 CVT cars from Subaru, years 2013, 2014 and 2017. All of them were awful. I hope they have fixed their issues. I like Subaru and miss my conventional automatic transmission one that was totaled in a wreck.
