  • I was very inspired by the headdresses made by / hysteriamachine , and Angela Clayton's Spiked Halo Tutorial • Spiked Halo Headpiece ... . I'm not 100% happy with the way mine turned out, the glass made it a little heavy, and the shape didn't turn out quite the way I hoped, but it was a fairly straight forward project. If you like the look I highly recommend giving it a try, the most expensive part was the spray paint at on sale for $3.99, everything else was either free, or something I already had.

    Edit:
    In regards to COPPA and the FTC,
    While I’ve worked hard to make my content accessible and enjoyable to a broad audience, my content is not intended for young children. I regularly use potentially hazardous tools to create art including open flames, heavy gauge wire, sharp pins & sewing needles, razor blades, as well as a sewing machine & serger. These are tools no child should be using unsupervised, and by extension, children should not be watching these videos without supervision. I’m so happy when parents tell me my videos inspired them to create art with their kids. I think arts and crafts are a wonderful way to connect people of all ages, but not all arts and crafts are appropriate for young children, and should not be attempted without attentive supervision and guidance.
    My videos are not intended for children. To those that would suggest that anything relating to fantasy, magic, fairies, and angels must be created for children, I’d point out the existence of shows like Carnival Row, Game of Thrones, Lost Girl, True Blood(Spoiler: series contains fairies), Good Omens, Lucifer, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and many more, are compelling evidence to the contrary.
    Additionally, according to RUclips analytics less than 5% of my audience falls in the 13-17 age range (the youngest age group RUclips analytics provides data on) and the vast majority of my audience is over 20.
    Also, a little update on me: I have been going through one of the worst periods of depression I’ve experienced in quite some time. I’ve barely been able to get out of bed for the past 3 months. My mental health has all but abandoned me, my physical health is suffering, and I don’t have the means or access to seek professional help. This has contributed to the lack of updates on all of my social media platforms. However, these developments with RUclips, COPPA, and the FTC, have been less than encouraging and this very well could mean the end of my channel.
    To anyone who’s enjoyed watching my videos, thank you. It’s nice to know I’ve brought people a bit of happiness.
    Thank you for all of the kind and supportive comments! I hope you continue to find inspiration and happiness through creativity and art

      Thank you! That's so kind of you to say. I don't think I'm terribly qualified to be giving advice on makeup (I seriously have no clue what I'm doing), but there are a couple of folks here on youtube that have amazing tutorials. Lisa Eldridge, and Miss Fame are some of my favorite makeup artists on youtube.

    What did you use to cut the skewers?

    • @ForgottenTrinkets
      @ForgottenTrinkets  6 лет назад +3

      I used heavy duty wire cutters/pliers (same ones I use to form wire frames for fairy wings in another video if you want see what they look like) to cut mine, but I've also seen people use garden nippers, and regular scissors. I found it easiest to kind of cut part way through the skewer, then turn the skewer to score the wood all the way around, before cutting all the way through or just snapping it off with my hands. I found this helped prevent them from splitting and splintering as much, of course you still get the occasional skewer that doesn't want to cut cleanly, so its handy to have a couple extra just in case.

    How did you create the headband from the wire hanger?

    • @googlethis313

      Aubrey Hicks
      I would bend the wire and use a head band I already owned as a template. Then just repeat making the second supporting wire the same width on the sides, but as high an arch I felt was needed to support the decorative aspect.
      I hope this helps. I’m not the channel owner but wanted to help.
      Hopefully you’ve already figured it out! Good luck and have fun!

    What were the measurements for the spikes?

    • @ForgottenTrinkets
      @ForgottenTrinkets  6 лет назад +2

      The longest spike is just under 6", but to be honest, I didn't measure while I was making it. I decided on the length by eye. I started out with center skewer quite long, held it to my head checking in a mirror if I liked the proportions, and trimmed it down bit by bit till I thought it seemed right in proportion to my head. I hope that's helpful :)

    Very clever, but do we have to have the inane musac background and what's with the surf noise?
