Stevie, Thank you for sharing your flying with me and taking me along for the ride! Ever since I was 3 1/2 years old I wanted to become an airline pilot. Unfortunately where I lived precluded me realizing that dream. And shortly after passing my 40th anniversary I finally made my peace and buried that dream. Today, a good decade later, I would not be able to pass a medical. But even so, my eyes always brim with water when I watch your take-offs. And as others have stated repeatedly, I also appreciate how you include at least a brief glimpse of the pre-flight walk-around *AND* your full pre-flight check-list in your videos. You are setting a very good example for others to follow.
Dont worry! You will get used to it! It’s easier than you think! I’m sure she was terrified the first time too! Make sure you get a good instructor who’s experienced in congested airspace
Why? Just listen and read back. Do your flight training out of a towered airport or at least a lot of it at a towered airport.... you'll find it fits a pattern and is completely predictable.
Stevie- I am from Michigan, I am so impressed with your aurora. You are my hero, and in today’s world, there are not too many who are real….. you are everything we all hope to aspire to. Your parents must be incredibly happy and with your abilities, just amazing. When I was in 6 Grade, I so wanted to be a pilot, I was not able to fulfill my dream as now I just turned 70 years old. Part of me is sad, but when I watch your videos, I feel fulfillment, God Bless you little lady, as I said, you are my real live hero, God Bless!
In February of this year (2023), I was home sick with food poisoning, watching videos on RUclips, and this video was suggested to me. I wasn't watching aviation videos on RUclips at the time, but this looked interesting (and I'm a Bay Area native), so I checked it out. I watched it 3 times and got inspired to look into flight lessons in my area. I went on my discovery flight on February 20, and yesterday I passed my private pilot check ride.🥳Thank you for inspiring me to pursue a dream and see it through. Next up, instrument training.
Finally, I found a home. I recently joined a group of senior software engineers that are pilots on slack and I infact got my own FlightGear Sim. Earlier on my life all I wanted was to be a pilot, at the time , about 8 years now I had little lung pressure and vision, both most importantly finance was the issue. Went to college late, but still managed to became a see backend, four years into. I finally found a family, live your dreams amigo and never settle to circumstances infact never plateau. 🙌 You got a new sub Stevie.
I'm a newbie to this channel but I am thoroughly enjoying it. My Dad used to have a flying school back in the early 2000s and we used to go all over the place (Southern France mainly) and see the sights. I learned to fly by 16 and got as far as my first solo but end of school exams & college all took precedence at the time. Oh I do miss that sensation as you rotate and watch the world shrink away (slowly), nipping through the clouds, sitting above the cloud level in sunshine, knowing below you is dull and raining 😂
i’m a a high school senior, student pilot on my way to get my private license. my step dad sent me this video. i clicked on it and this grabbed my attention so easily. it’s so cool seeing another girl in aviation. your coms and k place are so good. inspiring to me. love your content
Not gonna lie. You have totally inspire to learn how to fly. Which is crazy because I’ve always been afraid of flying. You are literally such a badass. I wanna be a badass 😂.
nothing wrong with being inspired but make sure you are your own version of badass, do what makes you happy, not what will make others say "wow ur a badass" that will happen on its own :)
Typically the fear comes from not being in control of the plane because someone else is flying for you. Once you actually take control of the plane then the fear tends to subside.
Very glad to hear your faith has been renewed in our generation! You should also check out MrBeast, Mark Rober, Graham Stephan and Colion Noir whenever you get the chance too! I believe they also represent the best of our current generation and future as well.
Literally this is my dream! I'm a software engineer and very recently a pilot, but flying to work is nowhere near in sight unfortunately. Love the videos - to see what I assume is only passion. It helps keep mine alive and keeps me working at the hour building!
I flew my Cessna172 40yrs ago in S.A.... never as afficient and dilligent as you! Thanks for allowing me to 'continue flying' with you. You are amazing. I also did MotorCycling and now follow 'ItchyBoots' on her adventures. Inspiring lovely people keeping older folks alive! Thanks!
I know it’s a lot of editing but I appreciate the time you put into it. Thanks for taking me along on this flight, great to see you! And…you got to hear the bayflight call sign…love your smile when you heard it! That final wave to the camera…perfect!
So nice to see there is at least one other person that doesn't fly with a glass cockpit. Love the position of the iPhone. Also, the music in the far background was a nice touch.
I've never been a fan of the glass cockpit. The steam gauges are so much easier to read, my opinion anyway. Maybe because I've built up years of brain training reading them.
I recently converted to a Cirrus glass cockpit after flying steam gauge C172s for 17 years (and instrument rated most of those years). I would say with the modern Foreflight and iPad flying especially with Stratux (provides ADS-B in and attitude information) with Synthetic vision enabled, you are not missing too much from not going G1000. The main advantage flying a glass cockpit is a fully integrated system certified for primary navigation which is great for giving you confidence everytime flying IFR approaches and flying complicated missed approaches on autopilot. Stevie are you instrument rated yet?
@@eceflyboy Just a matter of affordability for me, most RUclips channels fly with the latest glass, so seeing Stevie with the six is one step closer to humanity.
@@acerbus02 agreed. Glass cockpit usually adds at least $100k to the plane, you cannot install gauges piece-meal which makes upgrades difficult and expensive too. Modern iPad flying give you most of the glass cockpit advantages already without incurring the $100k+ cost.
I found a small museum in Tullahoma, Tennessee called the Beechcraft Heritage Museum. They have a lot of displays and memorabilia dedicated to the women of aviation’s early years. I told them about your channel and your ownership of a V-tail Bonanza. Said they would love to hear from you and have you attend their “Beech Party” this October. By the way, I really enjoy your channel. It’s good to see that young people still can and do have interest in aviation.

Girl BOSS! You are an inspiration for young girls who may want to pilot but only hear men wanting to become pilots. Being a girl, I have never in my entire life heard or knew a girl who wanted to pilot a plane other than my aunt. My aunt can fly a plane and has for years. She's so bad ass! She can do a lot of stuff.
Your videos have really inspired me to go back and finish my PPL. worked on it in my family’s Aerobat as a teenager but never got to finish. My goal is to get my Multi and buy back the 414A that we had. I really like how you include the conversation pause when ATC calls you and the resume afterward.
The restricted airspace she kept flying by is Camp Robert’s, base is used for long range artillery practice (you can hear from Paso Robles’s 10 miles away). When you finally make it to SLO you’ll love the downtown.
Just saw your video from a year ago. I owned a 1955 F35 Bonanza that looked a lot like yours, but was blue and gold over white. I lived in the San Diego area, but worked in Santa Ana. My office was three blocks from the Millionaire FBO at John Wayne airport, so I flew to work every day, which put a pile of actual IFR in my log. Good luck with your RUclips page.
Enjoyed this so much. My dad owned a couple Bonanzas as I was growing up. I have a lot of right seat hours in the V tails. Dad’s gone now and I flew for many years and I’m retired from flying now. And I’m in Grand Rapids MI so blew me away when you mentioned west Michigan. Thanks for bringing back a lot of great memories. ❤
Another classic bayflight adventure! It is so so awesome and a true pleasure to tag along with your journeys. It’s like experiencing all of these in first person. Keep the brilliant stories up, can’t wait for more of these! 😄
I lived in a condo complex called Harbortown in San Mateo in the 80s and worked in Foster City (walking distance). I wasn’t a pilot at the time but I drove past the San Carlos airport many times on US101 and always wanted to take lessons there. I think the area has changed so much that I didn’t recognize any of the stuff in your B roll. But it’s still a beautiful place to visit. (I didn’t enjoy the culture there so I moved back to Chicago). I love your videos and your disciplined approach to flying. Fantastic!
How cool a conversation would that be getting to the office? "Oh, I was stuck on the train all morning trying to get here", "oh I flew the plane in this morning " Cool AF!!!

Hi Stevie, I am in Australia and was surfing the RUclips for flying videos as I am a pilot and own a C172XP, and came across your vids. Watched them all and was interested in the amount of communication you have on route over there, we don't have nearly half as much comms work as you guys and 90% of the airports are uncontrolled. Interesting!! Your airports are are crazier more superior that ours I wish I could send you some photos of them, as some are just tin sheds with a wooden seat (Seat if your at an upgraded Airport). If ever you come to Aust, it would be great to show you our desert, most if it is a remote area and not recommended for GA flying with out carrying survival gear, food and water and a sat phone/2-way radio, 2 comms unit, etc. Anyhoo, great videos, I have subscribed so I can catch your next trip.
(Social anxiety kicks in...)
It gets easier quickly.
Do you use any of the popular flight sims?
In February of this year (2023), I was home sick with food poisoning, watching videos on RUclips, and this video was suggested to me. I wasn't watching aviation videos on RUclips at the time, but this looked interesting (and I'm a Bay Area native), so I checked it out. I watched it 3 times and got inspired to look into flight lessons in my area. I went on my discovery flight on February 20, and yesterday I passed my private pilot check ride.🥳Thank you for inspiring me to pursue a dream and see it through. Next up, instrument training.
YES!! I was wondering when we would be blessed with another one of your videos. Always so enjoyable to watch
Love your plane I learned to fly one just like yours only it was reinforced was13
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed the new video! This one was way overdue - lots more coming soon! Thank you for watching!
I love watching your videos, another brilliant vlog! 👏 looking forward to the next one 👍😀
Watching you fly is a true pleasure. You do it the right way, not the expedient way. Fair skies and safe travels.
You're fun to watch Stevie, nobody does it better. You give me faith in the younger generation. All the best...
You have made a difference in someone’s life: you inspire me to do more. Thank you.
Thanks!
I have a Bonanza P35 for 15 years in California too. Love your postings. Your preflight detail is impressive. Radio work is just awesome.
@@eceflyboy She's instrument rated and a CFI.
Im an engineer and a private pilot myself. But i had stopped flying for many years. I picked it up again this year and your videos are inspiring.
You make it look so easy.. Love the verbal checklist, clear video and audio, thank you for this trip and all that you do..!!
My friend got married there...very cool museum!
wish i had know about the museum..
I didn’t know about it either. I was looking for places to visit on my motorcycle and found it on an internet search.
Awesome museum. Very clean and filled with absolutely beautiful Beechcraft airplanes!
@@Deckrat Tullahoma does have some hidden gems it seems. I was there at UTSI, visiting their wind tunnels and vacuum test tunnels and other research facilities. The main supersonic/hypersonic wind tunnel is just mind blowing gigantic...
Lived in Tullahoma and did the Party for several years. Awesome place!!! 👍🏻👍🏻
I’ve always loved that you show your extensive pre-flight checks. The Dale Snodgrass tragedy could’ve been prevented by a quick movement check of the yoke.
That's what scares me- an experienced pilot making a very simple mistake. Anyone can do that!
@@chriscusick6890 Indeed it is scary. I can imagine a situation where there's a bit of time pressure and a distraction, leading to an uncharacteristic forgetting to check something like that. ☹️
Great camera work. Nice feel for where you are and what you are doing.
EDITED: I’m really curious how much (if any) workload 21C’s new instrument panel takes off of her.
That’s called taking your skills for granted. Or, “screwing the pooch”
her style in general is sooo good! this messy bun, glasses 🤩 absolutely beautiful
AMAZING to see how you spend a day. You are truly a Supergirl. Crazy how you can talk with all the different towers through your trip. just subscribed and im HOOKED. keep the videos coming girl. Fly safe.
I saw this video quite a while back, I was very impressed. Having paid for two Commercial certifications for family, then my own Private w IFR I can really appreciate your skill level. I woke up at 2:00 am this morning, and for no reason at all, started thinking about this video. Then, I get to my office and guess what pops up on my YT stream..... That's so weird it's creepy. How does YT know what I am thinking about ? Good job, you are a very impressive, accomplished young person. What an amazing life you are going to live.
Stevie I've been following you since day one and your content is always so amazing you are absolute stud at what you do and you share aeronautical knowledge with the world. As a licensed drone pilot a lot of the terms and rules are pretty dang similar and I learned new stuff every time I watch you.
Same here and I'm just so inspired by what this woman is doing.
Thank you so much Michael, that means a lot! I'm glad you enjoy the videos!
I just stumbled on this channel but this is so inspiring...
An Engineer and a Pilot, wow, just wow :)
I have a feeling that she might reveal one day that she's a good musician too.
Likely plays the flute 🎶🎼💦
@@jamesburns2232 you sound you play flute, when did you start it?
So awesome! So professional! So understandable! I show all your videos to my young daughters! Thanks for all you do!
This means the world to me! Thank you so much!
Yay!! Stevie is back!! Great to see her again. Absolutely amazing young woman. Good to see all is well with work and flying. She has really re-defined the term "Super Commuter." Keep up the awesome work and flying!!
I’m from Shelby township Michigan. I’m about 8 miles from Silver Lake. I use to fly a lot and had to give it up because of health issues. I’m 71 years young and 22 at heart. I’ve had a few planes in my life time. My favorite was my cub 180, just point into a breeze and she would liftoff. I bought her in Alaska when I worked up there. I used her to go back and forth to work. I’m Alaska, west Texas, northern Michigan Utah, Colorado and Oklahoma. I had her for 45 years. I watch you on You Tube. Go Blue 😊 they Won the championship. oh yeah. And kick Ohio State arse. Stay safe and have a Blessed life. Much love and respect on this end.
KSQL 😂 How fitting for a Silicon Valley airport! Thanks for another awesome video, Stevie.
Right?! Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
😂 And I was in a meeting just last week discussing planned use of a SQL database in some software we're developing for in-house use.
@@bayflight What I was told years ago was that it was named that specifically because it's the closest airport to Oracle headquarters... I don't know what strings they had to pull to get that to happen, but it was long enough ago that they probably weren't Unicode! 🤓
4 hours into flight training now after seeing your TikToks a while back, thanks for the inspiration!
Been looking forward to a new video! Thanks to you, these videos sparked my interest in being a private pilot. I will be taking a discovery flight end of October to confirm I really want to do this. Thanks for the inspiration!
That's so great to hear! I hope you enjoy the new video and I hope you have a great time on your discovery flight! You'll have to report back and let me know how it goes!
Good luck James ! 👍🌞
I watch your videos with my twin toddler girls.
I’m so happy you show them that ladies fly airplanes, so they can be pilots when they grow up.
Your wee grin when you head the first Bayview was very heartwarming.
I started my private certification last September (I'm in ND and weather is rough here) I was so nervous to make calls but then I watched your videos and I said to myself if she can be this boss so can I! I'm much more relaxed now.
This was so cool! I am scared of flights so sometimes I watch these videos on youtube to get over my anxiety haha. Love your channel, really helps me chill and relax!
It is cool to see an aircraft I worked on getting used. The rest all get used but I never got to see that before your videos. Fantastic, Stevie!
remote working software engineer and private pilot with your own plane. You are literally living my dream no joke Always wanted to be a private pilot since i was a kid and now i'm also trying to land my first job as a programmer.
Young smart beautiful lady and not only she's a pilot that's her airplane. We love you Stevie ❤️❤️❤️
I love watching these videos since my father owned a v-tail bonanza in 1961. Unfortunately, I do not remember riding in the plane since I was too young, so watching these videos gives me some idea on what it was like. I also live in Ann Arbor were Stevie took off from on her cross country flight !
Stevie you have encouraged me so much!!!!!Next goal private license Best scene; pushing the Bonanza into her hanger!!!!
“Doing 152 over the ground” ugh the only 152 my Cessna can do is its name lol happy flying and can’t wait to see the new avionics!
She make this look so easy kudos to her. 🎉
Hi, I just found your channel and i think you literally one of the coolest people ever. i aspire to be like you! Have a great life! :)))
First saw your videos 2 months ago and it brought back my love for aviation. It also motivated me to start my private pilot journey that I have been putting off for a long time and had my first lesson 4 days ago! Thanks for the jumpstart and keep up the good work!
Hey Stevie... I stumbled on your video and I absolutely loved it. Every weekend when I play tennis with my niece and nephew I see all the small planes flying over Redwood Shores... And, in my mind I'm wishing I can get up there and fly too. Watching your video motivated me to start researching flight schools... ✈️. Thanks for inspiring me !!! Safe Travels 😀
Been waiting for a vid ! You make flying look so easy. Your a big inspiration to me, Keep doing what your doing !!!
Like many other commenters here, as well as watching all of Stevie's videos, I have also watched most of the Oshkosh videos... I enjoy the ones that have the ATC audio most of all, and that is a music that just flows from Stevie's tongue as well. Love it!
Love the old V-tails with the Piano switches inside and swing over yoke. Just a beautiful airplane
I love to watch how you do your pre flight checks. For a non flyer it is very impressive and informative. I enjoy your videos. Stay cool. It is very warm here in Michigan.
Absolutely LOVE these videos. I am not a pilot, but have always enjoyed airplanes and flying. I found your channel and it's good just to have on as I work. One thing that I would LOVE to see is more shots of the areas that you fly over. I am a filmmaker based here in LA and there are times when it seems like it would be cool to see some different shots! But this channel is next level, stay safe and keep journeying!
I saw the video, and I immediately thought: "OH CRAP, STEVIE'S BACK"! I wish you had time to post more often, but, just know that when you post, it's a big deal.
I have no brain to speak that fast and precise. God bless you and the wind that carries you through the horizon.
I enjoy listing to you on how you go through all of your checklists verbally and you fly the plane so naturally and your are amazing
You’ve inspired me! I’m really considering getting my pilot license and get myself a plane! My dad lives in northern Cali and it sucks that I only see him twice a year 🥺 but if I can learn to fly, I can just go there myself every other weekend! He lives right next to a tiny airport too. Thank you for your videos 💜💜💜💜💜
hii
The real barrier is the costs of getting your license, renting/buying/maintaining a plane, hangar space, and fuel unfortunately.
Pilot AND software engineer!!!! WOW impressive at such a young age, this gives me hope for humanity:) Imagine if all our youth were as accomplished as this young lady!
Imagine if the youth all felt like you had to do and be multiple things in order to be considered “accomplished”
imagine if we all had the means
@@M3RRY !!!
You're accomplished the way you are. Everyone has your own path. It's good to see people living your best life, go live yours the way you can
It's a hell of a lot of effort to to be a software engineer and pilot, not many have the tenacity to accomplish so much so young.
Would really love an older bonanza or Cessna but curious about the cost break down of this. Would love to see a video on the financial decisions behind your flights and ownership!
Also would be cool to see a breakdown of your maintenance knowledge on the aircraft? How much are you familiar with and comfortable enough?
I'm going to do a series on this topic exactly in a few weeks! Stay tuned!
Fabulous organization, with excellent attention to detail. As an amateur radio operator (VE3NAP), your radio voice is clear and distinct. A pleasure to listen to while watching your content. I am amazed how you rattle off freq acknowledgment changes, you make it look easy while navigating and aviating.
I'm a 26 year old mechanical engineer from Wisconsin who was just inspired to finally get his PPL! You're awesome!
Amazed by you!
I mostly come here running for Stevie's epic Stevie's pre-flight checklist rundown.... LOL! Safe Travels Always. Taking gliding lessons soon!
New to the channel. Only problem with this channel so far is lack of videos. What I’ve seen so far has great content and job well done on the editing.
Your com skills are amazing. I enjoy your videos and it is great to see young people interested in aviation. Purchased a Cherokee, then got my license at age 55. Flew 410 hrs in her and sold her in 2018. Have not flown since. Your videos get me back up in the air. Thanks.
I wish I could do what you do. I'm in awe of your accomplishments. To be independent, successful, and fearless. You in the sky, just looks so serene (kinda envious😄). You are amazing! ☺Thank you for sharing your videos.
Stevie my 11 year old wants to get his pilot's license as soon as he can and we really enjoy your videos!
😎👍
That's awesome, I wish I found my love for flying that early! I'm glad you both enjoy the videos!
Won’t be long before he’ll be ready for flying lessons, then he can solo on his 16th Birthday, and get his drivers license the next day. That’s what I did.
Get him to start early! I'm 12 and I have 21 hours within a C152 :)
@@maz.mcdermott22 you're very lucky to have that many hours at such a young age. I started flying just before 15 but I haven't flied much since then because it costs so much (I'm now 16.5) but I'm going to start flying a lot when I turn about 17 because i now have a job! Make sure you get a job immediately once you turn 16 to pay for being a pilot mainly if you're trying to fly commercially (for money) such as in the airlines. This stuff is very expensive so start saving that money for flight school when you turn 18 so then you can pay lots of it off and so you don't have much debt. It doesn't really matter what job you get, just get a job. I'm working at McDonald's rn as my first job and it just helps with getting work experience for more advanced jobs. GL with your pilot stuff and remember that if you plan to fly commercially, get a job as soon as you turn 16! Have fun
The last time I was at the San Carlos Airport was back in December 2007. My family recommended to go through the Hiller Aviation Museum. It was a blast to see and they had at that time the forward fueslage of a 747.
You’re such an awesome pilot and that bonanza is super nice
So, I'm a Locksmith. I've been wanting to get a private pilot license for quite awhile now. I'm finally able to afford such a feat... You have a cool little plane! Great job!
Randomly popped up on my RUclips. I’m so happy that it did. Inspiration comes everywhere.
Hey Stevie, so happy to see you upload a new video! I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed your previous ones 👍🏻 By the Way Go Blue!! I’m a big Michigan fan 😁
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the last few videos and I hope you enjoy this one just as much! GO BLUE!
THIS!!!!
I am currently working to transition into coding (html, css, JS) and learning has been a slog. Your videos have been what keep me going. And they actually inspired me to take my first discovery flight! I'm going for my birthday this month (july 24th). Then I found out on one of your pages that you are a coder too and I was like, "Whaaaat!!?? flying and coding is exactly what I want to do!" I live in SLO county! I hope I run into you in the flight community one day! :)
No seriously I’m in computer science and am wanting to fly!!
She is where she is in her life because of the decisions she made, she is clearly not lazy. Hard work to become an engineer, even harder to get your PPL and CPL. Good for you Stevie!
Post more!! My 12 year old says she wants to do what you do!! She is just so amazed!!
As a fellow pilot, I love your videos. One request: Please produce more content. You're sitting on a gold mind of potential here. If aviation is you passion go all in.
It's an honor to be allowed to fly with you. You're absolutely amazing in so many ways.
Have a good one, Steve
I met a young pilot from Germany who loved flying in the Bay Area because the airspace was open compared to flying in Germany. Wow that’s saying something.
