Using the Real Life Corner Kick Meta in FM24

Scoring goals from set pieces has always been important in Football Manager 24, but do real life corner tactics and routines work in FM? In this video, I'm reacting to an absolutely brilliant analysis of Arsenal by Statman Dave and applying some of the concepts he talks about, as well as my own observations on Liverpool's recent corner dominance, to FM24.

I use Mark Keeper on my corners but I have them from the box threat as usually they cause some corner goals to be called offside as they are obstructing the keeper. So you want off ball and anticipation for these players

Two things for FM In particular
1. It seems SI has fixed near post corner to some degree- and most teams will put a guy at near post in defense
2. It is important to reduce the number of players in the box, especially defenders, so I like to have a guy come short to drag a defender away
Also, using a very similar setup but put your focus to the far post and inswing to the far post is a lot more effective- because AI will put their best aerial guy at the near post, and most teams don’t have two big players that can cover both near and far post, leaving far post vulnerable
Another way to setup corners is to have a outswing near post aiming at your big players and hope your player at the far post (or marking the keeper) will score from the chaos outswing creates

Have you got to January yet in your save?
I did and was sitting mid table with the blades so the owner rewarded me with 50k transfer budget and refused to budge despite the club finances showing they were sat on about 30mil. ( bare in mind they also have lowest net spend and wages)
I ended up save scumming and going back to an earlier date when I’d had a good run and requested a increased budget for Jan, straight away they gave me 20mil 😂

hahaha, love it! The idea of you walking into the boardroom and showing off your points tally in the last five games and wiggling your brows! Haven't got to Jan on mine yet, no, I'm really micromanaging games in full match as yet, with these quality players in the PL it seems like a couple of small PI tweaks go a long way in each game. Just at the start of November now

@@theavgdad yeah the chairmen definitely gave me the “ you son of a bitch I’m in” while I’m stood knowing full well I will not win a single game till Jan after that 😂.
Diaz just went on a mad run of games for me then has done nothing since. Also some advice incase you don’t know, it’s pretty gamey but for some reason SI seem to hate Souza and have gave him 1 ambition and all his hiddens are terrible so he never actually grows despite some potential, worth getting off the books asap.
