You should be able to drill out the weld to remove the baffle. I have the same pipe on my GS but, I’m in SC so it doesn’t have the welded in baffle. So much deeper with it removed. Also remove the wire inside the cables controlling the flapper valve but keep in actual valve and actuator installed.

The bike is absolutely great and, in my opinion, the stock exhaust looks and sounds better.

I’ve put the Yoshi Hepta Force on my 2017 R1200GS. Very pleased with look, sound and price. Definitely the right choice.

Looks great... sounds good and throaty. I've always replaced stock cans but have been pretty pleased with stock on the 17. W/O the baffle would sound killer!

+Chuck Pryor I thought this yoshimura exhaust was going to be a little louder than it is. I also thought I was going to be able to remove the baffle. Unfortunately California restrictions is at work. Keep those pics of Moses coming 👍🏼

Chuck, I as well change out the stock can. But when it comes to a bike like this I don't thing it's good to mess with BMW back pressure design.

Hey apart from being a gem of a looker that can sounds absolutely awesome. I rate the Yoshis even more than Akrapovics. Great improvement, and the plus of a slight weight saving. Top Addition. Enjoy safely and thanks for posting.

This Yoshimura exhaust is a piece of art. Simply beautiful. Still replacing a new stock muffler is such a waste... unless you can sell it.

sir, good job on the video.. could you tell us reason why you chose the yoshimura exhaust over akrapovic or a termignoni..

+Nikhil Basil based on the reviews I searched I didn't think the price of the other brands was with it unless I went with a full system. Also, I'm located in California USA, and we have very strict laws. It's hard to get many of the other brands.

Is it easy to remove the baffle?

i just got me the same motorcycle 2017- 3 black, the catalogue of yoshimura does not have the r77 for the gs 1200 adv 2017. instead they have heptaforce much more expensive and sold by yoshimura japan, so the question here is you use this R77 with out problems ? thanks sir

    How much money is yoshimura??

Mmm......seems like a lot of expense and effort for very little difference. In fact the stock system sounds better to me.

+Plopracer I agree. I was hoping to get a little louder sound from it. One positive note, it's a lot lighter than stock 👍🏻

if you quickly go from the 1 minute video mark to the 24:38 you can appreciate the difference, much more throaty and I can only imagine what it is like at speed. by the way did you manage to get remove the buffles?

I agree it's a lot of money for very little difference. However, this muffler is the nicest sounding i have heard on a BMW twin yet. Most exhausts i have heard, including my Remus on a 800GT, make the exhaust note fluffy and very much trail bike like. This Yoshimura (as with most Yoshimura mufflers i have heard) has a very solid note and interestingly, pretty much negates the typical BMW twin beat.
