A great selection of answers to the prompts, and some great recommendations for ‘Spooky Season’ too. I did really like Christine from what I remember. I bought a copy of it recently so I’m hoping to give it a re-read soon, but I’d probably rather read Herbert than King as well at this point. 😅
“Unless you are really really afraid of lesbians” 🤣 I recently tried and put down Christine by King. It was a case of my expectations and the reality of the book not matching up.
I have been wanting to reread The Omen, definitely a spooky read. Haven’t read Christine in awhile but was a good read. But I don’t think I have read James Herbert so may have been a different read after that? Interesting selections 👍👍👍
Hm. I may need to pay another visit to Christine. Not sure I trust my teenaged judgement! Herbert (certainly the early work) seemed much more visceral!
Thanks for doing the tag, Gavin. You have quite a few spooky books there. I remember being very frightened by The Omen, both the book and the movie.
I saw the Omen many years back, but only read the novel last year, and it brought a few memories back.
Some of those sound great and, once again, there are many I’ve never heard of. Great responses 😊
Thanks Debs!

Yep, the Herbert books have stuck with me more than the King I read at the time..

Christine seems to be dividing opinion!
