    10/29/21 I bought the $80 20lbs blaster just incase I did not work. Had a 2007 DD15 with a failed fuel pump and contaminated fuel system. We knew we had a lot of air in the lines and a LONG way to go, this tool worked perfectly with zero pumps. Cranked on the engine maybe 7seconds before it fired up. Very impressed! Then we had a crank no start on an Isuzu 5.2L out of curiosity we hooked this tool to that unit supplied 100psi and it started. Easy way to diagnose A failed fuel pump. Now I wish I bought the 150lb blaster lol thanks again

    Using the hand primer has been working for me…I have one in our shop with fuel leaking from the block outlet feed, and it loses prime if it sits more than an hour. I came in from my weekend off and knew it wouldn’t start, so I primed it for 5mins by hand and went in and tried cracking her off for 20 seconds and it didn’t go, so let it sit about 30 seconds, tried her again, but this time with the throttle wide open, and it hesitated and burped the air and fired after about 10 cranks. Is it the correct way? Meh. It always works for me and I have never had issues with damaging anything. These ACRS systems are a nightmare to work on, especially in a 114SD with a drop axle, steer axle, and a mixer tank full of electric over hydraulic controls that also tie into the truck, right where i need to work. Fun stuff.

Anyhow, one day me and driver going down the the road and I start to feel something is off, like it's staring to miss. Keep going down the road and starts making knocking noises and lots of white smoke coming from exhaust. Parked on the side of the road and had it towed, the shop still haven't had time to look at it. Engine had no blow-by whatsoever and only has 1000000km on it. It has a dpf delete on it. We have another 2016 cascadia and had it deleted and 2 months later it did the same thing, knocking and white smoke. White smoke can be fuel from an injector or injectors. You can perform a cut out test and see which injector might be bad. You can do it at idle or increase the rpm to 1000 to allow the needle amplification to work and perform the same test. This should help find the culprit

      That is normal to hear the fuel going into the return.
      You will be fine, do you have the 2 fuel filter system or the 3 fuel filter system?

      Is got 2 but I took the return line of the housing and try to pressurize the fuel system with the pump and is going strait out the fitting of the return line

    I thought you just crank and crank endlessly until the fuel pump is damaged. That's what some trucks stops will try to do to you. $300 online for a hand pump one that works perfectly.

    • @CarlosDieselElectric
      @CarlosDieselElectric  3 года назад

      There are definitely a number of ways to get it done. Most will crank and think that is it.

    Charging diesel or compressed air

    • @CarlosDieselElectric
      @CarlosDieselElectric  4 года назад

      Diesel, the compressed air is just to pressurize the red tank. But fuel is being pushed into the fuel system.

      Paccar has a different way to prime the system. Search Davco, they have a video that shows how to prime the MX engine.

    • @CarlosDieselElectric

      There is drain valve at the bottom of the fuel filter housing. Do you have the 3 piece or the 2 piece fuel filter?

      @@whitefang1979 there is a drain almost in the middle of the fuel filter module. Just turn it and the fuel will drain. Then close it and you are ready to go.

    • @CarlosDieselElectric
      @CarlosDieselElectric  3 года назад +1

      Fill up the fuel filters and I believe you just use the small primer pump next to the primary fuel filter on the driver side. Turn counter clockwise and then begin to pump until the hand pump is hard. Then try to start it.

    If the pump.was installed out of timing will this cause damage?

    • @CarlosDieselElectric
      @CarlosDieselElectric  2 года назад

      Timing can certainly cause the issue you are having. But check the fuel lines from the fuel module up towards the pump and common rail. It is possible one of them is not seated right and maybe allowing air. This will not cause a fuel leak but may cause the hard starting situation.

    Will that work for a Paccar 2024 engine? It has the same fitting and a similar duel fuel filter system?

    • @CarlosDieselElectric
      @CarlosDieselElectric  6 месяцев назад

      The process is different. I know on the early modules it required using the fitting and opening another to allow for the air escape. Not sure if that has changed on the newer models.
