I have a question, what do you use to clean the gasket surfaces, especially the head gasket surface? I work at a Detroit dealer and we are only allowed to use a scraper, no power tools.
Mostly use a scraper, because of the material the block is made of. You might get away with using a light abrasive. Also use brake clean to remove as much of the contaminates as possible.
Hello, what is the thread size on the oil priming tool/adapter on the smaller side? The side where you hook up the hose to oil the system not the side that goes into the oil filter housing
@@CarlosDieselElectric Hello, thanks for the reply. yeah that’s the bigger side that goes into the oil filter housing module, what about the nipple that’s sticking out that you put the green hose on?
Thanks for all the information you put in your videos keep up the great job and thanks again.
Very informative video Pedro, thanks for sharing. Muchas gracias 😁👍🏻
Tremendo pedro nos alludarias mucho si los graba como ahora muy buena tutoria.Gracias
Great explanation thanks 👍
I didn’t prime and it worked totally fine
@@Mr.profi.master I’m glad it worked out. I would just hate for an issue with lack of lubrication to cause a bearing to spin.

There are scotch brite material cleaning wheels
Thank you!!!
Do you have to oil prime the engine if you just rplace oil pan gasket and pickup tube seals?
Yes, I always prime the oil system especially after removing the oil suction system. You do this to prevent a dry start.

Where did you get your priming adapter I can find on any where
My Snap On Dealer was able to get it. You can also try Freightliner or maybe Amazon
Do you know the torque spec on a crankshaft damper for a DD15?
I can look it up tomorrow when I get back in. But just be sure, you are talking about the vibration damp on the main pulley?
@@CarlosDieselElectric Yes. I changed it out yesterday but, I can't find the torque spec anywhere. I appreciate it.
@@jptransport8830 147.5 lb ft is the torque spec.
@@CarlosDieselElectricI appreciate it. Thanks for the content you are putting out.
@@jptransport8830 you are welcome. I typically use a 1/2 impact on the bolts and that should be just fine.
