I'm still using my unlocked LG V35 ThinQ because no notch. LG insisting notches should exist make me not want to buy a new LG phone anytime soon. However, the LG Velvet looks gorgeous. 🤩

Once you're spoiled with a Quad DAC, you cannot go back unless you don't care. 8MP is low for an ultra wide as well. Overall, nice phone but hopefully they don't overprice it here in the US. If the rumors are true and its only $100 less than the V60, you might as well get the V60. Top chipset, Q-Dac, bigger battery, more RAM and more megapixels for rear cameras.
I agree that the loss the Quad DAC is a bit rough, though as a wireless audio lover, I just discovered that LG highlights aptX support when connecting supporting Bluetooth headphones. Might be a consolation prize, but I'm into it.
man, after upgrading from the V20, I really find myself always carrying a separate DAC, because my new phone's DAC is just not good enough
I'm totally happy with GizModern N1 dual driver headphones, aptx-hd Bluetooth 5.0 with Viper4Android FX rooted equalizer. No crackles, pops, lag etc. Just really great sound quality. Bluetooth is too convenient, I'll never go back to wired headphones except for PC gaming.
@@lakasngamatzko4523 That's cool, man. Wireless is a nice freedom of cords but wired is still superior in sound quality for another while. Until Bluetooth can match that, I'm not switching but not sure if that's possible since it is digital. Cords are analog and you can't beat that. Just wait till phones (Sony or LG only really) put in a MQA Dac. I can only dream:)

Of course analog is better. Wires is more of a home thing to me. On the go I'm all wireless.

I'm still using my LG V35 thinq because it has no notch, but I'm starting to not mind the notch, so the Velvet is a really beautiful phone. That dual screen case is really nice as well

I really don't know how LG can come back in the market. In my opinion they shouldn't have discontinued the G series and make it a "flagship killer" with competitive prices and specs as they did with the G8 !

Im still using my LG G7 ThinQ! If it goes I might get the Velvet, but it's a big phone and I don't know if I could go back to a phone without DAC!
I am looking forward to it, kinda upgrade with my V60, however, really nice LG included the accessories that is needed straight from the start, keeping my eyes peeled for when it comes out.
Love the back of the phone... Hate the front. I'm not sure why it has such a big, deep notch and pretty big top/bottom bezel for 2020.
My Galaxy A70, a last year's midrange phone, has got substantially smaller teardrop notch. That is a testament of how much ahead of the competition is Samsung at least in terms of display panels.

@@panathatube Lg doesnt give a shit for thick bezels or our punchole bashing, after all huawei p40 pro uses LG display so they clearly can produce state of the art display with 90hz and no bezels.Remember Samsung is ahead in mobile world but in TV world things are way different. LG is giant(just one Lg signature oled r is more advanced and worth more than whole Samsung 2020 tv line up) compare to Samsung inferior display tech,Tv processors,UI,exclusivity and pure features(from hdmi 2.1.response time,g sync,controller,picture quality...).Samsung display hit the dead end with new qd oleds tech ,they spend around 15 billion dollars on r&d just to scrap qd oled tech(they will be on sale for just two years) completely.Now they pursue qdned tech so they are pretty much lost in development.Samsung display and Samsung electronics are two separate firms,one invested whole lot of money in qdoled tech while other is constantly bashing that same tech and is ordering the other to pursue new tech and 8k.It's pure madness and so counter productive.
@@dado380 wow dude just say Samaung tv's suck and LG tv's are the best. Now with that said Ive owned both tv's and Samsung line of tvs are top selling not LG. Also Samsung tizen OS is better than LG. Also while LG is king. For movie theatre type viewing in thier OLEDs deeper blacks bettwr ambient displays but suffers burn in. Samsung tv's owns it when it comes to gaming.....no burn in and brighter set with refresh rates matching the gaming systems out there. So neither is better but caters to diffrent audiences.

I bought lgv30+ back in late 2017 and haven't felt aany need to upgrade and it is still one of the best ,hifi dac , LOG mode for video post processing, 4k HDR+ ,OLED lots more , LG has been making very good phones from past years they only lack in marketing

I've been using the lg g7 for two years now and it's an excellent phone. I might switch to another company because the v60 isn't sold in my region. BTW Lg's android skin has been constantly improving. I have been using it since Android 7. Every update is a constant improvement. The android 10 version especially is really good.
I hope they will gonna have a comeback here in our country. I have been using my LG K10 up to this day since releasing it.
My first LG phone was G4. I had problems with it but I loved it.

I would like to know, if you felt any lag or if the processor will not be adequate for gaming.
The LG Velvet will be available here in 2 weeks (Netherlands & Belgium). Price is €649, and untill august 2nd you will get the dual screen for free. If you buy the phone after august 2 you have to pay €275 for the dual screen. I think €649 for the phone with dual screen is a good price.
In Germany they did not even call a Price for the Dual Screen. I‘m scared honestly 🙈 But we get the LG Tone free buds at least (in spite of a jack? What did they smoke?).

I am looking for a new phone in next few weeks. I like this (looks, aspect ratio and accessories) as well as the new Sony Xperia 1ii. I have up to 1000€ to spend on it, but really want something that has good chipset and good screen. Of the 2, which would you suggest I go for?
That's funny you mentioned the processor because as you clicked around on the phone I kept thinking how lagging it was. I'm spoiled though. I always have the newest Note, so I feel like I would hate it. Great video as always. I need Samsung to copy that dual screen technology. I love the idea of having two screens, but I don't want to fold the glass over and over.

I’m baffled by people saying the notch bothers them.. how are you not habituated by it by now? You want big full screens as well as highest quality selfie cams and I am sure notch is preferable over any additional hardware mechanism on top. Had been using iPhone X since the launch and you just blend in with the notch after some time. Honestly I never hated it.

Hardware wise, how do you feel this stacks up to say the G7 ThinQ? Many cite that the SD765G is roughly on par with the SD845. Would there be many reasons to buy a Velvet over a yesteryear G series?

How big does it get with a standard case? Seems like a bigger phone than I’m comfortable carrying around all day...
I had a G6 not sure why reviewers don't like LG's skin? It was fine for me. I did use a couple of other launchers and icon packs but mainly just to keep from getting bored with the phone.

I bought one on line from FIDO it did not have the velvet box or the contents other than the white box with phone and charger. Do all the phones come with the velvet box?
I really hope they bring it to the US. I'm tryna switch over from my Note 8 but I'm waiting on getting the V60 to see what the Velvet is all about with price.

What I like about LG is they can do good midrange phone. For people living in Canada we don't have that much choices for midrange phones.

It really looks great and I feel kinda obsessed, but I have a huge problem. The processor is not as powerful as it was at the LG G7 ThinQ I used. So I don't know, if this snapdragon is able to keep up. I love the design, the size, the screen and the cameras but I don't want a slow working phone....

having a notch on the dual screen is absolutely silly...there is no camera on that. But I am assuming the folks at the top wanted "uniformity" put it there but that is just dumb. LG is the king of "almost" for years with their phones.
they just used the exact same screen from the phone, they don't want to design another screen just for the dual, it'll cost a lot

The front-facing camera was clean. No, beautify, and smooth, just natural skin. I would call it an improvement. Also, I am personally fine with top bezel instead of a notch.

In Canada now, but no Second Screen, In usa but only ATT has second screen that I can find. LG is messing up not providing this here with second screen.
