Bought the game as soon as it became available but I'm having a terrible issue where even with my mouse and keyboard plugged in to my PS5, the game just does not register mouse input. I have to use the keyboard to navigate menus and when I'm finally in a position to use the mouse, absolutely nothing works. A shame, because while the controller controls feel fine, I'm sure it's much better to experience on M&K. Anybody know a fix?

@@bizmonkey007 I will play on PS4 as long as they keep selling consoles. I recently got a PS2 system. I love it. Eventually, I'll get a PS5. There are enough games I'd be willing to play, such as Robocop: Rogue City, V Rising, Returnal and so on.

The underlying pixel change looks amazing, really high fidelity graphics from afar and up close looked pixelated. Interesting
The "Shock" in BioShock is a direct reference to this as well. Maybe not for the immersive sim aspects but for story and how it told it.

Finished in 5 days, loved every second, recommend first play through with story on level 1 difficulty for waypoints. Deserves at least a 9/10.
I never played this game, but I'm glad I get the chance to experience it.

I didnt realise it had launched and I'm not home but my playstation app says that the ps5 edition of System Shock is "announced" but not available.
My xbox app more or less said "Yeah no worries mate, XSX version of System Shock downloading" is the PS app wrong because the most fancy version of the game is the PS4 Pro version?

Ah yes I “downloaded” its thumbnail to XSX but it’s “not currently available” which is also weird because I wonder why wouldn’t it let me pre-order? When I search it in store it says “pre-order” under the thumbnail but won’t let me when I click it.
I had heard on PC that a version of System Shock 2 was a preorder bonus. Boo.
It was like a glitch.. I tried to download at 12 then 1 am got that too then waited to about 2pm and it was available for download. I think the issue was that it happened to be the same day ps plus releases hit and the new community help thing so everything was a little wonky. Hope you got it!

The colours and level designs look like it would melt my head.
At times, they kinda do.
Engineering was definitely the worst.
The rest weren't too bad. Basically a big circle with one or two centre rooms, and then offshoots from the main circle

I've been having a good time! Runs incredibly well on my XSX. I only have a few minor complaints being the subtitles will turn on by itself and that the inventory cursor is a bit slow. And heads up if this is your first time playing system shock, I'd recommend putting story difficulty on the easy because it is very easy to get lost since it does not give you waypoints on the higher difficulty.
@@ScornedScallopes I played System Shock 2 and loved it. Tried going back and playing the first one and the controls were just so unintuitive

This game was amazing but scary af for the little me in the 90s. Played a lot of it, but never finished it. Time to fix that now, I guess. Lets kick some Shodan ass.

Hopefully, flat2Vr studios gets this to port to PSVR2 ASAP.
I really liked the early game but the later areas have terrible map design.
Later areas have no spawn/heal machine which would be fine if they didn't make you go around the edge of an entire level evening crouching thru vents to get to the later levels making you save scum sure it's easy getting back via a teleporter and a secret door if only said door stayed open.
Also you are gonna need a guide if you don't already know how to solve the main quest puzzles like literally needing a unique random number from each level's CPU Node room after destroying them which are hard to find if you forget where said rooms are which is easy to do as some levels are literally labyrinths.

That's not how you pronounce Shodan but you knew that. You're the kind of channel that'll mispronounce just for engagement.
Skimmed the video, and as far as I can tell it doesn't really go into how the controls work on console. Unfortunately the camera feels awful, the game was designed for keyboard and mouse and you just do not have the settings you need to make it work better. Mainly, there's no option for gyro aim, which is the one thing that makes console shooters actually playable to me, but despite that literally no PS4 games actually use it.
Really disappointed honestly, I don't want to play through what seems like a good game with such bad controls. I don't have a PC that could run this either so this is literally my only option... and it sucks
You equip stuff to hot bar and then you use the d pad to navigate hot bar. Other items that do not equip to it like snacks you press triangle or y to open options on them and use, drop or vaporise for scrap which can be exchanged for credits at recycle and supply stations

Apparently per a few other reviewers you can turn waypoints on via an option in the menus.
