Whether it’s how it should be or not if I had to choose I’d rather a company that will continue to fix it no matter what rather than put out slop, let it flop and then give up on it. A lot more respect for the dedicated than the quitters. I do feel like we underestimate how dead gaming would be right now if every developer gave up on a game that wasn’t enjoyable for the players or didn’t make them enough money.

Another great comeback is State of Decay 2. I have over 1,000 hours in it, and played since launch in 2018. The launch version was fun for me, but I get why people were saying the things they were saying. Undead Labs buckled down and has been overhauling the game little by little every update. They even did a visual remaster where things looked a ton better, played better, and added new maps. Along with dlc which were included in this visual overhaul. In 2024 they’ve finally wound down support so the entire team can work on SoD3. My favorite comeback.

But FPS games in general shouldn’t be using controllers and the review footage all has the same floaty and crazy low sensitivity look to them. Literally the only game on this list that doesn’t use controller is a 4X game that doesn’t support it

But it can't be truly fixed without a major overhaul of the main quest line. The pacing in particular sucks and it's missing the awesome set pieces that CDPR demonstrated they are capable of making when they finally released the DLC. It's as if they cut out random chunks of it and hastily tied together what's left. There's even a major questline that starts after the point where you're supposed to enter the point of no return. The latter isn't even in a task that can be delayed in a narratively justifiable way since it should be a quick and risk-free event.

The best thing with the Ghost Recon Breakpoint upgrades, is that they were all optional. Smart move, because there were people who preferred to play it as Breakpoint instead of Wildlands. New controls etc. were also optional. UBI made sure they pleased both groups of players.
UBI even added new difficulty options, so even casuals could play it basically in God Mode. Other developers would have removed the old system and replaced. Kudos to UBI for making it all optional. There is long lists of settings in this game...

Halo Infinite being abandoned is insane. The game was sold as a platform for the next 10 years of Halo stories and left us on a lame cliffhanger with 343 incompetence to blame. I'm glad they improved and built upon the multiplayer but the heart of Halo is a story driven experience with a solid multiplayer community to support it. If they were bringing in story content with the seasons, it's would be amazing. Everyone knows the Halo franchise has such huge potential, so it's heartbreaking to see it be so poorly handled. XBox is f@#$ing up.

Gaming isn’t gaming anymore. You can’t own game you buy. Companies rushing games out that are not complete.Needing to have accounts for certain games to play in with you are most likely to get hacked. Paying extra just to have an edge in something competitive. Every game is a “jiggle keys” that to get what you pay more and it isn’t even worth playing. I do feel bad for the newer generations of players having to play in a time where companies are in so greed that they will never understand what it means to have an actual game. Don’t get me wrong there are some games that did get love and took time to make it right but that rare now. I’m rooting for the small gaming companies/community to show and have the bigger companies understand the importance of making a game.

As a die hard dying light fan I think the fans were waaaay too harsh on DL2 at release. They made some changes yes, did I agree with all of them, no. But, fans acted like they gutted the whole game. Combat alone is waaaaaaaay better than the first one, same with parkour, they just lightened up some of the horror elements (which I disagreed with) but overall it felt like everyone was waaaaay too harsh at launch.
Overall I think my point is I definitely prefer the horror and story of DL1, but going back is near impossible because the combat and parkour feel clunky in comparison and the color palette is very bland.

I agree that they improved a lot from what was already great in 1, and I'm tempted to try 2 again with these new changes, but I found the main story and characters, including the character you play as, so inferior to 1. So often the interactions between you and the female side character would take me right out of the game, just destroy the immersion. At least with 1 it was a believable experience and wasnt full of inane pointless dialogue and irritating characters.
