    Just want to let you, and more importantly others, know that you should not completely take out the screws of the casing that way, because they are not supposed to. There is a little washer at the end of the screw that is supposed to keep it from coming out completely. It’s a nice quality of life feature that helps you keep the screws where they need to be. So what happens is the screw unscrews from the hole but the washer will keep it from falling out. If you do it your way you will unscrew the washer from the screw and it will probably fall down into the electronics which is obviously terrible😅. Again just a heads up.

      I've done all the recap and sold my MX7000 tv before I have a chance to make a tutorial.... But the process is simple as using desolder gun, take out all the capactiors on the orange pcb board and replace them with new capacitors. You can buy a Capacitors kit on ebay that contains like 100 capacitors at different nF (nanofarad) values.
      The trick is, when you take out one capacitor, replace it with a new capacitor with the same nF (nanofarad) value ---> the voltage value on capacitor is not as important. For example: an old capacitor on the board has the value of 22nF 16V ---> you can replace a new cap with any voltage as long as the nF (nanofarad) value is the same, so for the example, you can replace it with 22nF 16V, 22nF 25V, 22nF 50V (just make sure the voltage value on new cap is not lower than the original voltage value).
      The other thing to worry about is the Polarity of the capacitor, if you notice on each capacitor, there is a Different Color stripe on one side (somtimes it has a thin arrow icon on those stripe)---> this is "-" polarity. When soldering a new capacitor in, make sure you align the polarity correctly. "+" leg goes to + and "-" go to -.
      That's about it, just replace capacitor one by one until you get it all replaced.

      I'm pretty sure you mean "micro" farad. Not nano for electrolytic capacitors...

    Do you have to plug it out after discharge? Isn't it safe to just leave the cable be?

    How do you take off the orange PCB? Do you fully remove it to change the capacitors or leave it in place?

    I remember opening up a faulty one of these. I quickly got rid of it when I saw the mess of cables and boards inside. It's lovely on the outside, horrible to work on inside. I like 20-27" sets with a single board maybe two. So nice to work with but these things? I'm good thanks.

    I hope to fix my Bang & Olufsen BeoCenter AV5. The problem is that the tv has a "pincushion" problem (sorry for my english), and some technicians have told me that it will be expensive to fix it, and other technicians said me that it can't fix. I've never opened a crt television, I get a little scared.

    Thanks for your help!

      No. But most people take the protective screen off because it makes the picture worse anyway

    Nice video, thanks for explaining how to discharge it. I have a power supply issue with mine, is the power supply board on the left ?

    • @modology
      @modology  5 лет назад +1

      powersupply board is the board in middle. Left and Right board are responsibled for teletext, rf and audio i think.

    Hi !
    I just got an MX7000 but without remote and i want to adjust the volume.
    It is only possible with settings menu or maybe the front buttons ?

    • @modology
      @modology  4 года назад +1

      nah, you need remote control. It's essential if you have B&O crt. without remote control, you will have no way to adjust volume, change channels, etc....B&O TV is famous for not putting any dials or knobs on the actual tv... so that they force you to buy their remote control. Just buy universal remote control, logitech brand. It's cheap and should work just fine

    My mx7000 often does not find my consoles on the antenna input and even if it does find them they often slowly show a worse picture until there is only snow. On the scart input everything works alright. What could cause this?

    • @modology
      @modology  6 лет назад

      it's hard to identify the cause of those issue. I suspect it could caused by bad capacitors on those board. But then it's hard to tell unless you open it up to inspect the board

    Do you know how to remove contrast screen on MX7000, and if you do could you make a video how to do that?

    • @modology
      @modology  6 лет назад

      I think I do however it's pretty easy to break the black strips (top and bottom). I'd rather not to do that as there is not 100% sure that you wont break that plastic strips

    • @JorisKeijser
      @JorisKeijser 5 лет назад +4

      The shiny black plastic strips at the top and the bottom (with the logo) can be taken off by pushing them down at the ends, and then pulling the clips at the “back” of the strips (there are little tabs on them for your fingernails) outward, and then towards you again. You can just do one end at a time and then take the whole strip off. This will reveal 4 screws, one on each corner, which you just unscrew to take the contrast screen off. Be carefull with the top right screw though as it seems it might be able to fall into the houding. So I took it out of the little “hole” with tweezers. It looks a lot better without the contrast screen, but makes the TV very ugly. I do however recommend everyone to do it as the screen can be dusty, and especially the top right and bottom left corners of the actual display can collect dust, so make sure to clean both really good with some breath and a clean shirt or microfibre cloth. Made mine look a bit clearer.

    Oh and by the way. Will there be a part 2 someday? I’d really like that!

    • @modology
      @modology  5 лет назад +1

      I've sold off my tv before actually making any video related to it. But the basic concept is the same. You can just need to take off the main orange pcb board, then you can use Solder Wig or Desoldering Gun to remove all the capacitors. Then solder new capacitors in.

    My MX7000 missing sound on the right side. Any tips?

    • @modology
      @modology  5 лет назад +1

      Try to use the remote control and check to see if the SOUND CHANNEL BALANCE. Perhaps the sound is switch completely to one side only. Pushing the balance back to the middle perhaps would solve the issue. if that's not working, you can open it up and check the sound board from that defected side to see what's going wrong with it
