  • **Edit. I stated that the MX8000 had a Panasonic Tube. This is incorrect. It has a Philips Blackline tube, Which would explain the similarities in quality with the Loewe. Sorry for the confusion**

    The most Stylish B&O CRT was the AV9000. Pair it with 2 Beolab 8000's on each side and set it to 3 channel Stereo. That's Retrogaming heaven right there.

    Thanks for the video. Regarding 100hz TVs, 100hz was a marketing term, they're essentially 31KHZ monitors with a laggy upscaler that creates artifacts on video games, especially 240P. Now, certain 100HZ TVs have a VGA port which completely bypasses the upscaler and allows to display pure 480P/31K. It is absolutely stunning for dreamcast and other 480P capable consoles. Loewe Q23,Q24 and Q25 chassis had an optional VGA card that turns these 100HZ TVs in amazing 31K/480P gaming monitors. Some Grundigs also have optional VGA cards, I have also seen a Panasonic with a front mounted VGA port that works the same, all in Australia.

      Yeah I was ontrack to grab a panasonic with a VGA port the other day. But seller lost it somehow. I had the dreamcast primed and had the video ready to roll. The 100hz section was the hardest part of this video. In the end I just quickly breezed over it. Originally the take on this part was about 15 minutes . But i was moving away from the real reason I did the video. So I just went back to the simplest way I could put it.

      I had a Panasonic with vga 100hz widescreen but like you mentioned for for purpose 100kg tv that’s actually useless for anything but vga which I have no console. Playing ps3 or DVD in 576 just wasn’t worth the fuss . Really wanted a use for it but after years of trips and a few injuries unfortunately got the out

    Great video. Gorgeous looking B&O. I have a Commodore 1084 monitor (one from my childhood) that I recently found again (in the box and everything). It’s in great shape but I’m looking for an RGB solution to use it with my consoles. There is no SCART connector on the back. Where might I find that Din connector to female scart you were referrring to? Thanks bud and love the content!

    I prefer Component video because it’s a more compatible format and it supports higher resolutions without modification. For RGB consoles I just use HD Retrovision cables.

    I've got around 10 crt TVs my beocentre 1 has an amazing image I prefer it over my component trintrons, a Philips I have in the garage makes my trintrons look average but by far the best image is my Loewe profil 770 it needs a new flyback but my god the image is amazing.

    JVC - TM-90PSN
    SONY - PVM14MA
    SONY - PVM-1442QM
    SONY - PVM20M4A (x2)
    Just wanted to see if these were good for retro gaming and if I was getting a good deal?

    Bang&Olfusen CRTs are very nice , great geometry, great color but the screens are too dim compared to other CRT's. I'd recommend a Sony FD Trinitron with RGB(eu model) and desent geometry, way brighter screen, very close to PVM.

      @@spudzgames4361 FD Trinitrons are a big gamble when it comes to geometry, never seen a B&O with bad geometry though. Also the newest models of FD Trinitron show hours, just like BVMs, so you can check before buying :) (FE-2 chassis)

      That is the case for MX4000, 6000/7000 or anything before that, but the 8000, 4200, Beovision 1, Beocenter 1, Beovision 3 ( pretty much everything B&O produced after 2002-ish), have much brighter screens. I have all the models mentioned and I keep everything(contrast, brightness) at 50% and is more than enough. Really great TVs

    B&O's just have Philips tubes in them the picture quality is decent but it's more of a eye catcher and design piece imo. Sony all the way. Don't like the plastic front bezel on a B&O either. Edit: MX8000 does have a Panasonic tube inside. Have not tested a MX8000 yet.

    • @spudzgames4361
      @spudzgames4361  2 года назад

      Each to their own I suppose. I don't mind the Sony's for me but I love the B&O. Mind you I don't think the Beo 1s did that great a job. I find they have issues with scrolling games and a 60hz flicker but neither seem to be present on the MX8000. I did put an edit up in description re the tube. This MX8000 actually has a Phillips tube inside. Has a philips blackline tube.
