    If you get the chance to check out the MX8000 go for it. Much better image quality in terms of sharpness and linearity. They also completely redesigned the menus which makes it much less of a headache to do adjustments. I can highly recommend this model.

      I second this. I have had 5 MX7000 and they all suffer the Rolling image in horizontal scrolling and it's quite noticeable. Upgraded to the MX8000 instead and I love them.
      The MX7000 models have some issues with the chassis so running arcade resolutions and whatnot can produce undesirable effects in the image. The MX8000 don't have these issues at all.

    They are great looking TVs.
    I've got a few B&O including a very early MX4000.
    Its hard to make judgements on a 30yo tv that could have had any level of breakdown or mistreatment.
    However, I find the b&o i've come across all have small alignment and geometry issues.
    Many of the early ones can't be put into service mode with the remote, as far as I can tell.
    Haivng RGB SCART , a great physical shape and such strongly defined scanlines is enough to make up for all of that !

    After servicing my own set (replacing capacitors mostly) and fine tuning the flyback controls and service menu, the picture looks pretty great and you really can't beat the look of the set itself.
    Servicing it was a hell of a chore though, because of how the boards are placed inside. I'm not opening this thing up again any time soon.

    I discovered my 7000 has a brightness sensor next to the ir sensor in top right corner. Try to flash a flashlight into the top right while in a fairly dark room and you will see brightness in 240p from heaven. Sadly, I still have not figured out how to always have it on that max brightness.
    Note that you probably will need to down the menu brightness for this to look good. But it bassicly increases the contrast, ALOT.

      It is called "vision clear" they have it officially in mx series specification. I also nkticed my MX7000 is a lot brighter during day time, especially when sun hits the room, but it is way to dim in the evening and nights despite all my fiddling with it.
      There must be a way to disable this vision clear brightness sensor! This tv lacks pefrection only because of this dim contrast by visionclear

    Dunno if the mx7000 has the deinterlace function but shift 7 looks amazing.
    Edit: just managed to pick up a b&o dvd1 and v8000. The dvd1 is region free for some reason are they all region free?

    I find on my MX4000 & 4002 the composite image is a lot brighter than RGB, can notice it when you get the system menu up, the background image changes to composite when the crisp menu pops up.

    • @rgbrob
      @rgbrob  Год назад +1

      I have seen a few different TVs over the years that are noticeably brighter in composite compared to RGB.
      Its like the on screen display takes over the RGB display and switches the source input to composite in the meantime.

    Hey Rob. Does the mx7000 also show signs of digital processing, similar to 100hz, like the mx8000? If you remember you didn't recommend it for arcade gaming.

    • @RionRedemp83
      @RionRedemp83 Год назад

      That's the digital filter on the neck board that makes the image more clear. You can easily detached the cable if you want a more soft image like the MX7000 has.

    Hello, I'm desperate and I need help.
    I own a wonderful B&O MX7000 and when I want to play time crisis 2 I have got the same problem like this video:
    ruclips.net/user/shorts-5GvOl3vxeg
    I have changed the configuration on the gun to 100hz mode and others why nothing. I also bought a PS2 to scart cable but the same result.
    Do I need to configure something on the MX7000? I don't know why I have got this problem. Help please.
    Thank you and I encourage you to put more videos

    • @rgbrob
      @rgbrob  Год назад

      no need for 100hz mode on mx7000. Assuming that you are using a proper Namco guncon 1 or 2 gun, you also need to have correct cabling. The gun requires plugging into composite video. You need a scart cable like this that allows the composite video lead from the gun to plug into the scart cable at console end. Have a close examination of the cable in this link: www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/SONY-PLAYSTATION-2-SYNC-ON-LUMA-RGB-SCART-CABLE-LIGHTGUN-PORT
