Love the 10/10 split between "games that take several minutes to a half hour to break pots" vs "I found this pot within seconds." It's very satisfying.
I'd personally put MM and BotW in their own category. You don't have to do too much, just play some minutes of the intro. Not comparable imo to actually beating fucking dungeons. So I'd go: 1 to 10 -- 11 to 12 -- 13 to 18 (I guess LoZ and AoL don't really count).
Could easily save 10+ seconds in ocarina of time by just going back inside Link's house after talking to Saria! Link has his own pot that just doesn't spawn during the intro I guess, probably to hide it from you.
After the intro in Link's house is the only time in normal gameplay that you're left in control on an alternate scene setup (which are normally reserved for minigames and cutscenes). You can tell it's happening also because your C buttons aren't dimmed, and actually all C items would be usable if only you had any to equip. If you immediately did a savewarp, you could skip talking to Saria, but it wouldn't be faster.
It’s funny that the first two Zelda games don’t have pots in them, considering they were documented as prequels to A Link to the Past by Miyamoto. That would mean that the Link from A Link to the Past broke every single pot in Hyrule, before the timeline got updated with more games.
Fun Fact: the BoTW Guardians were based on a particular kind of pottery. They try to speedrun how long it takes to break players. The series gave them their revenge.
Maybe Comet (or whatever his name is in your language/version. Why was the name of a Chainchomp of all things something that needed to change?) is just very well behaved?
To be fair, these pots are somehow completely impervious to sword slashes. These aren't your standard boring old Hyrulean pots which break by any means (like spontaneous combustion).
Now I need a video explaining the maths of how much weight link in totk can hold compared to minecraft steve with his golden apples Link can hold 999 golden apples 999 regular apples and a crap ton of other things and steve holds A bunch of 64 stacks of golden apples (Idk exact number of inventory slots)
@@0ikess enchanted golden apples are made with an apple surrounded by 8 gold blocks So it's alot more gold if you use gold apples I saw a video a long time ago where someone did Steve's strength I don't remember who did it tho and they used those

Actually, I was surprised how long breaking a pot took in many of the games.
Re pots in Clock Town: There are pots in the sewer, at the Observatory, and on top of the Clock Tower. If memory serves, there are also pots in the secret back room of the swordsman's school. All of those take longer to access, though.
A little bit of unknown lore - pots were invented during the filming of the 1990 movie Ghost. Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze's ghost were just messing around with some clay and accidentally created a pot. Not too long after that, Shigeru Miyamoto made a business trip to the Nintendo of America headquarters. He was racking his mind for some hook for the next Legend of Zelda game to be released for the Super Famicom. On a late night flight back to Japan, he ended up seeing the inflight movie Ghost and had the inspiration that would shape Zelda games for years to come.
0:49 j0rts: "No pots? Fine, I will settle with breaking _spinal cords_ instead." Who knew that the invention of the pot saved the world from a mass murderer. -At least as long as he never finds Paella on Razen...-
Now you have all those pots. Now how long can it take you to get high? 2d games, how long till you can get to the top of the FULL world map, and 3d games, how long until you can get to the highest point in the game?
One especially notable thing about the pots in Link to the Past is that they're stronger weapons than the master sword. Most enemies will go down in one hit if you huck a pot at their head.
I misread this title as being "How fast can you break _every_ pot in every Zelda game?" One, that is a hell of a feat. Two, how would you know you are done? I imagine data mining and meticulous tracking.
Majora's Mask has 3 pots at the base of the astral observitory, each with 5 rupees. Probably faster your way. I like to spend any extra time on my 1st 3 day cycle filling my wallet from these by leaving through the moon tear door, re entering, then repeat, then running to the bank when full. I usually get about 1,000 rupees deposited before the night of the 3rd day.
Fun fact! There were a few years there when Chain Chomp was in more Zelda games than Mario games -intro’d in Mario 3, don’t reappear till Yoshi’s Island; in LttP and Link’s Awakening :) Wow! The past!
Off the top of my head, the only other pots I can think of in Clock Town are in the sewers/Bomber's Hideout and observatory, and the required hide-and-seek and/or brute force finding 1 of 120 possible passcodes is definitely slower than the Trading Post pot.
@@JJ_R Yeah, I discovered that after the comment too! But my wardrobe sadly goes beyond blue and brown 😔 let’s hope some hylian salesperson has a power bracelet collection somewhere
In Ocarina of Time, you can gets faster time if you exit Link's house and walk back in. For some reason, the pot in his house only spawns after you reload the map after the opening cutscene.

A little bit disappointing you didn't keep going in Skyward Sword, there's a sidequest where you break a GIANT pot in the cafeteria of the Knight's Academy
Huh. I'm surprised the pots in the Game Boy games are so resilient. I'd think tossing a Bomb at one would break it, but I haven't played _Link's Awakening_ in a long time.

I like how little middle-ground there is between 'easy, 30 seconds tops' and 'half an hour, minimum'.
Could easily save 10+ seconds in ocarina of time by just going back inside Link's house after talking to Saria! Link has his own pot that just doesn't spawn during the intro I guess, probably to hide it from you.

Jōmon era pottery, some of the oldest pottery in known history. The Elder Pots have come for their revenge
Hah thats funny now do every type of pot theirs multiple in the newer games
Legend of Zelda: The Pot's Revenge
I like how Link’s Awakening Link can apparently drag a chain chomp around, but lifting a pot is too much for him

Twilight princess could of been done faster as there's a pot behind beaus house
I didn't know plots were invented in 1990. They were invented ages ago
I remember suggesting this under one of your previous videos. I can't even begin to describe how happy it made me to finally see this ^^
We need to see how all of these Zelda challenges would be on Link's Crossbow Training.
Link's Awakening, Level 2 is actually shaped like a big pot, thus taunting you even more than you realized
you dont need to leave links house in Oot. just immediately save and reload after intro cutscene and a pot magically appears in there
The pot breaking sound triggers nostalgia like crazy!
You totally smoked those pots, dude!
I don't know why I keep watching these. I don't know what I'm getting out of them. And I don't plan to stop.

Good video. Straight to the point with its claim. Pots successfully broken.
How fast can you touch a rupee in every Zelda game? (Or touch a coin in every Mario game?)
