"Annie's pretty young, we try not to sexualize her." One of the most iconic lines of the show and one of the best running gags too. Alison Brie being who she is irl also makes it one of the most quoted lines under the comment sections of her videos/photos :p
Jeff: Annie's pretty young we try not to sexualize her. Eric: [panicked mentally revisiting every single thing they've said about Annie so far in these reactions]
- I've read somewhere that the empty chair was meant for us, the audience, that's why it can't be filled, even with Jack Black - and "Annie is pretty young we try not to sexualize her" is the biggest lie of that show 🤣
yes, Starburns is Dino Stamatopoulos, who's a close friend of Harmon's and was a writer on the show. He actually runs a company called Starburns Inc now, which produces Rick and Morty
Jack Black and Owen Wilson were actually the stars of a pilot created by Dan Harmon in 1999 called Heat Vision and Jack. Dan Harmon often has past collaborators make appearances in both Community and Rick and Morty.
Jack's joke about not throwing off the rhythm of the study group with the theme song inserting itself halfway through his sentence is probably my favourite episode open in the entire series.
11:33 Kevin Clark, the actor who played the drummer in School of Rock, passed away after a car accident last year. Watching the outpouring of tributes from Jack Black and the other kids alike was heartbreaking. 32 is no age.
Joey Gaydos Jr. who played the guitar in SoR was arrested on felony charges of larceny and grand theft after Florida police nabbed him stealing guitars and an amp four times.
Man I always remember loving Jack Black's character here but I forgot how many good lines this episode has "Annie's pretty young, we try not to sexualize her" -- Of course, the classic "I hope you've got an army of rasins because I've got a major scoop" -- So delightfully half-cringe and endearing "Ok, Hitler." *Britta gasps* -- I don't know why but this always gets me "He grew up in a land without sun!" "My best friend when I was six years old was a black man!" The delivery on this is so fucking good lmao Also Jeff's response to getting a nosebleed from being kicked, both to Jack Black's character and then the "hmm maybe we should take a vote". Good episode all around
I love that the "we try not to sexualize Annie" line is so iconic to the show, and yet just moments later we see Pierce suggest that she flash her breasts, lol.
man this has got to be one of my favorite episodes of the season. jack black gripping the hell out that table screaming i hate your study group with his pants off is fucking amazing
Dan Harmon used to have a show with Jack Black, Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller called heat vision and Jack. Where Jack Black played an astronaut exposed to radiation, which gave him super intelligence, with a sentient motorcycle voiced by Wilson. Also there is an outtake where Jeff accidentally pulls down Jack black pants/underwear while trying to drag him off the table.
This was my favorite season 1 episode. Every joke still hits after multiple rewatches and Jack Black is just soooo good. There are more fantastical and admittedly iconic episodes at the tail end of the season, but this episode's quality relative to its simplicity is so impressive to me.
@@supersucks I don't want to spoil it for them, but i think it ends in that scene. It's been quite a while since I watched the series and I'm not 100% sure though.
It's doubly funny for me being Finnish. And Gary isn't even a Finnish name, but it's close to Kari which is a. Also in the middle of the summer the sun doesn't go down below the horizon so there's plenty of sun, but in the middle of winter the sun's up for few hours so she's half right I guess.
The finale of MASH is amazing. The whole show has a lot of heart and Hawkeye is a very hardened intellagent empathetic witty doctor. And he's in Korean insane asylum for the last two episodes where people are starting to leave because the war ended. It's a heart twister. And Alan Alda does his best acting and best monologs.
Depending on the community college you can have programs that last 1 year (a certificate program), 2 year program (diploma program) and some (at least in Ontario Canada) can offer ‘applied degrees’ that allow hands on experience and theory. Depending on the field
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who died of laughter when Jeff goes “We took a vote” and Buddy immediately starts crying . It never fails to make me smile haha. Loved Jack Black’s guest appearance here. Also his appearance in The Office.
I get the joke is that Jack black doesn’t fit in with the cast, but he crazy fits in with this cast. If they would have Danny devito’d him into the show I would have been ok
Heat vision and Jack was the most expensive pilot shot at FOX at the time. Guess who starred in it and wrote it. Also, if you want more Dan Harmon goodness, look up lazer fart
I'm not sure about every state, but in Ohio, all colleges and universities are now on the semester system, but prior to 2012, when that change was made, a lot of Ohio community colleges (including mine) were on quarter hours. The change was made to accommodate the transfer of credits to four year institutions, which were always difficult because quarter hours were weighted less than semester hours (it was a big headache for me when I transferred).
None of the cast were on set when Owen Wilson was there, not even Jack Black. I don't even think they knew about it until the episode aired. I believe Wilson knew Dino (Starburns) and did it as a favor to him. The woman is a Playboy playmate I think
Fun fact: Radar's left hand is smaller and different from his right hand its called brachydactyly caused by Poland syndrome and what they used to do is cover Radar's hand with files or other things.
“We try not to sexualize Annie.” Biggest backtrack in the show’s history. Dan Harmon did initially try to not sexualize Alison Brie but she was completely game for making Annie the sexiest character on the show. Even though she never has sex in the entire show’s run!
@@kenjutsukata1o1 LOL! That’s awesome. I was in the same boat for a while. I think it’s supposed to just be “Crew Blindwave!” Either the name of their crew and their introductions or them addressing us as the crew and then introducing themselves. Probably the first one!
I always thought the "my best friend was a black man" line was implying something about the Dean's sexuality. Also semesters seem to be roughly analogous to quarters. From my college experience there's a fall and spring semester which are about 4 months each and then winter and summer semesters are about 6 weeks each but the courses are either really condensed or worth very few credits, mainly for folks that want to get some extra courses in rather than take their summer or winter breaks. But Greendale is a 4 year community college which is itself a joke because community colleges are usually 2 year institutions.
