OK so I went back and it seemed I did not fully constraint the sketch for the pocket operation. Thanks for the video series - I learned a lot of techniques from you.
I am trying to do this tutorial using 0.18, 4(Git Tag). I am successful up to the 19:58 mark where you prepare to complete the tangs on the knobs and give them a more rounded and finished appearance. I am not getting the 3-circle to appear in the "external geometry" to tangent against the inside curve of the cutout. For whatever, reason it just appears out of nowhere here, but I can't get it to show on my work. I have attempted to find my mistake but I am at a standstill. If you are able to comment on this and give me some guidance I would greatly appreciate it.
Hi, send me the current file to my paypal adress, i will have a look then and try to find what went wrong. Usually it´s a problem with the sequence of the previous constraints.
@@hagei406, Thank you for your response. I went back in after watching it again. I repeated that area about 6 times until I got it. You are right, if one of the previous constraints is not right it will throw the rest of the object off. I finally finished this lesson and the file looks good and I exported to S3D to see what it would look like for printing. So far it is great. It just takes patience and practice. I will repeat this lesson from the beginning to get the process down. Thank you.
Thank you very much for your assistance. I settled down and went back through the lesson. Just as you said about the sequence. Your lessons are very good. @@artur8403 Simple, after closing the sketch, you will in most cases not see all new entered geometry, as the zoom just goes back to where it was BEFORE you created the sketch. In this case, it only shows the inner 2 circles as the outer one is far beyond the screen area. This is a well know effect and will mention in a later video.I changed zoom later in the video.
Ha: I have found your tutorials really useful, not just this one but all of them. I followed along on the tutorial and built the model in part because I wanted to make some knobs. The result ( more or less as I am still tinkering with it ) is on github: russ-hensel/nut_knob: A parametric model ( FreeCad )of a knob for tool free adjustment of nuts and hex head bolts. github.com/russ-hensel/nut_knob
Of course I did not follow the tutorial exactly. In addition to my mistakes: Did not do the material reducing cut out. Added a spreadsheet to control some of the sizes ( this also seemed to break some of the model the chamfers in particular ) Tried to improve of the model part names. Now do chamfers by: Use Part -> refine to create a new part Chamfer with Part -> chamfer
The refinement is not parametric so do a new itteration each time I change the underlying model.
I would like to know what you think, you can find an eamil for me at github README.md. Thanks: Russ

@@russhensel russ, i had a look.. The problem lies in the sketch004 . Maybe my original mistake , or a glitch at the rework. The lower right triangle is fixed to the blue and red circles. This finally resutls in some gap. I chenged by rewmoving them and adding a tangent from the line edge2 to the red circle. This now gives a proper transition between circle and line, which finally can be chamfered. Very interesting tutorial, I see I've still got a lot to learn.
A really relaxed, very helpful tutorial - thanks for taking the time to make it.
This is second video I followed, very easy to use FreeCAD by your explanation. Thank you so much

A very helpful video. Nicely paced and very clear. Many thanks
Fantastic video for me as I am just learning, very helpful in many ways, thank you!
Make construction primitives is what I missed while trying to realize ideas! Thank you! Спасибо!!!
thanks a lot... you are explaining very well that i need

great job a real learning experience
Thanks! very useful
Nice!
Very good tutorial; and so lovely relaxed!
Keep up the good work......whats next....?😄
i got 3 new videos done , just need adding voice. We will do a simple Sweep , a Loft and a 3 Part Project Box ...will add soon
Very easy to follow video, thanks!
Good job
Thanks!
I tried to make a star knob using a similar process but could not work it out, as it was too organic curvy
Is your mouse a hole punch?
no..but the screenrecorder Program did record it too loud...
Thanks

Read older comments. Usually the wrong sequence of clicking , results in a open constraint

Well.. old video from 2018...newer videos do not have that any more
There was 3 circles but after closing scetch there was 2 circles with another diameters. This is where train lost his tracks
can you specify at which time ?
