    If the XLX retails for about $430-$450 here in Australia, I'm guessing the XLX2 will likely fetch $500-$550 (possibly more) if or when it ever gets released here. Insane!! It's one of the reasons so many use Hobbywing here, it's priced so much better. Speed runners will still dig deep for the Castle gear, but the everyday basher will almost always go HW. Castle is just a bit much, not to mention, it's almost non-existent here. I've heard of so many people having to buy direct from the USA because there just can't find anything locally. And it's been this way for years...
    This was great and very good info, bro. Very well done. 😊👍 Do you still need to plug the ESCs into a laptop/PC to program them or is there an easier way? That's one thing, I have to say, that Hobbywing has always done better and easier. Probably not as refined and no data logging, but much easier to program nonetheless.

    • @InnovationRC
      @InnovationRC  3 года назад +2

      Appreciate it! Yeah I absolutely agree. BUT. "There is no compromise in real speed" money won't matter if you want something to work at an extreme you can't cut corners. It is unfortunate though that the price is significantly boosted by default for you guys. Yep it's the same way as any other castle ESC. Plugs to computer or bluetooth via B-link

I'm also banging my head trying to figure out if I can do front motor setup or if I will eventually be forced to do a motor mount flip and run the motor on the rear to achieve 150Mph. I just would rather set it up once than keep rebuilding it. Sorry for the long post...lol. Any ideas are appreciated.

    • @soundmindtv2911
      @soundmindtv2911 2 года назад +1

      That’s gonna have to be burst peaks. The wires cannot physically carry that much current continuously. Even for 150A continuous in stranded copper wire, you’d need 1/O sized wire, which is very large. Picture arc welding cable.

      I just stretched out my Arrma Typhon 6S. I had the MMX 8S originally in it during my design but had to send it back to Castle, the brakes weren't working. So I had a MMX 6S spare & decided to use it to test out the newly stretched setup. I ran it on 4S, 34T/34T & a 2200kv motor just to get a feel of the new suspension setup. Car pulled 85mph @ 206A. Did 3 passes checking temps between passes. Data log showed a max temp of 167F after the 3rd pass. A little high, but still within spec. I thought 206A was high, but I just saw someone else pull 246A on it, 120mph, also with a 2200kv motor. He did go into thermal cutoff by the end of the run, but dang, surprised that the MMX 6S can push 200A+.

I personally wouldn't buy a Castle ESC unless I hear really good things about them because I've had a very bad experience buying a couple of their ESCs and them stop working within a short time period. Can the xlx2 run on 12s?

  • @ronrichison6435
    @ronrichison6435 3 года назад

    i am already certain the xl2 can be powered by 6s from an rx8 control board. which means running multiple of em in sensored mode can essentially equal more than a mamba xlx2, and it'd be plug and play for the gen1. the wiring is exactly same and connector is same, i checked thoughoughly. but yes if it would work it'd be 6s sensored tekin esc with no limits. i aleady have a xl2 & xlx and 2x4s bios 60c lipos soo all i need to test it is some rx8 escs gen1 or gen3 doesn't matter i own 3 soldering stations. And sorry i privated my video i never thought i'd get this far. Recently I obtained everything for $940 it included 2xTriton2 EQ 1-8s chargers and baja 5t w/brushless conversion rollcage and savox digital metal gear servo and 2 4s lipos, Proline Trencher tires and 3 bodies 1 of which was a black baja 5T body brand new! So yes I'm so close to actually posting the video AND showing it in action. Let's hope it works castle & tekin are too late. We're doing this in month of Nov for certain. ok! see you on my channel. p.s. i absolutely love the iSDT p30, bg-8s, and fd-200. download the iOS app! also on android. Called SDT Go. Don't buy their 3060 power supply it's pointless to waste money on power supplies. EVERYONE buy the DC chargers and buy AC/DC low end chargers until the solar power supplies gain traction. i've seen some hit the market look at them they're called "desk battery backup solar storage" usually they are 30,000mah 3.7v only problem is energy loss happens converting 3.7 to 35v... So just wait until that gets sorted out THEN whip out the iSDT p30 literally this beast can charge at 30A!!! So better treat it like a new car. Some people say the cheap iSDT 8q will melt the board because of bad manufacturing practices. So to be 100% certain you should see Louis Rossman's channel and learn how to ACTUALLY take care of your electronics. i'm saying inspect everything fix anything you can and then start your hobby. Us we like...no we want to stay out running all-day-long but when your batteries die that's when the fun ends. So please take care now. Also capacitors on esc's need high C-rating otherwise the voltage will contantly drop wearing out the caps until they fail. when that happens the esc melts and you'll never know why; ending up costing you a fortune. So Nov. see you on my channel!
