Thank you so very much for this recipe. My daughter and I have not had a good tamale since I cannot remember when, long time though. I have never made tamales before, but with your recipe, I will give it my best. Thank you, again, for your wonderful video.
Nice video! I have a similar recipe for tamales except I use about 750-800 grams of lard. 😬😅 I made some for Christmas, I think my waistline is still recovering but they are so good. Happy New year. 🍾🥂
Hi I made my masa like you - the first time I bought at store already made masa but I noticed the consistency is different .? I was adding more water to make it creamery idk if it matters ? Thank you
When we make tamales, my mom and I will make our own Masa from scratch but sometimes we will also purchase 1 tub of prepared masa from the brand La Guadalupana. We always doctor it up by adding more broth to it and a little lard to make it more fluffy and spreadable. Fluffy masa = moist tamales.
I've never made tamales but I plan to sometime this month. Thank you for this recipe, but quick question: I always thought the masa had some of the chile paste added to it for color? Can't believe how simple this recipe is! Edit: SUBSCRIBED!
You can add some Chile sauce to the masa here is a recipe I made for my pork meat all this recipes for tamales you can find them here in my channel ruclips.net/video/w0L7DCxFpRo/видео.html
We just made 80 tamales. They were perfect. We didn't use a recipe... Just hands & common sense. They were gone in 1 week. Of course you have to share.

My mom and I have always done our tamales masa this way, except we just add the lard and mix it that way, we don't fluff it up
Hello I have a quick question, to mix the lard can I use an electric whisker? ☺️ thank you
yes you can

Both the liquid and the lard makes the masa creamery

Hi I need help! I bought prepared masa from the store and added too much broth how can I fix it?
Hi, I answered your question in the other comment 😉
Vegetable oil?
We just made 80 tamales. They were perfect. We didn't use a recipe... Just hands & common sense.

Nice 👍🏼, yes sharing is caring 😉😀
Nice😎
I want to try this, but can you please convert measurement?
1 kilo is 1,000 grams of maseca or 8 cups 399 grams of pork lard is 2 cups ( measuring cups)
@@cookingwithconchita9657 love this! Thank you. Can’t wait to make it.
Hi. 399 grams of lard in cups pls.?
Hello Irma the 399 grams = to 2 cups measuring cups. The amount is next to the 399 grams in the Ingredients list. 👍🏼😉let me know if you need more help
*Did you mention how long you steam them?* 🤔
Yes in my other video I show you guys how to steam them in a regular pot and also using the Instant Pot. Is 45 mins in the IP

For faster, use a tortilla press to spread the masa and then add it to the shuck
Yes I have the tutorial in my other video. I like to share different options 👍🏼😉
Thank you
Hola Conchita! Can u use this recipe for gorditas?
Hola JoseLuis, no if you want to make gorditas you need the maseca, water and some salt but the salt is optional.
How much baking soda?
For this amount of Maseca you can use 1/2 tsp 👍🏼
Why did you not add salt
You can add salt to taste, I sometimes like to add enough salt to my meat and then use the broth from that meat
Why doe's my masa look like it has air hole's in it?
Just mix it a little longer, if you are using lard it might need more mixing
