You still haven't done "Hooker with a Penis." Don't let the name scare you off, a shorter (than normal for Tool) song that contains the essence of their edge and aggression. There's still time before the new album in August to react to all of the Tool songs you haven't done yet. GET 'EM IN!
I've requesting this since the first Tool reaction video he did! :-) The name definitely scares off most Tool reactors. But for the few who actually finally do it, they just go absolutely nuts for it! Gotta use a lyrics video for it. Yeah, they aren't exactly whispering the lyrics, but you don't want to miss a single juicy bit of what Maynard is singing in that song! :-)
Have you ever tried to show/share someone the Tool experience and they talk over it(not in a reaction sort of way, but a completely different conversation), and you suddenly question all of your friend choices?
I think you’re definitely ready for the Holy Trinity: 1) Disposition 2) Reflection 3) Triad All in one take. All the Tool fans will go crazy for that review. Guaranteed.
I think Aenima is their best album in terms of buildup. I still get lulled in by PushIt. My mind will kind of wander to other things while listening, and then all of the sudden I'll realize I'm in the middle of an epic finale!
How is it possible that you love Tool so much and you’ve never heard this album the entire way through? This album is nothing short of a masterpiece and deserves a full listen without interruption. Band like Tool and Pink Floyd wrote albums, not songs. Just a thought. Either way, love your reactions man!
Writing songs can be good depending on the people doing it. I still 100% agree, listen to the whole damn album! Especially with epic bands like tool or pink Floyd. I've been lucky enough to see them twice 2002 for what was basically still the Lateralus tour and 2006 for the 10,000 Days tour. They just played Lincoln Nebraska 90 minutes away from my house in May and I was pretty bummed tickets sold out of the box office in like 30 mins and after that there were only second hand dealers charging 3 times the original sale price. My buddy paid $340 for 2 tickets and that was assigned seating. But I guess I paid $320 in 2006 but those were general admission floor seats

Progressive industrial rock/metal is what 3rd eye reminds me of, just listen to the sounds they incorporate into the song, just amazing. When I saw them in 2014 they opened with this song which was insane.
No other band could pull off a song like this. The changes and attention to detail to make one song out of what could be three separate songs is pure genius!
The best description of a Tool song I’ve ever heard. I don’t remember the exact quote, but it was something like this: “This one song is better than most bands albums”. 😂😂 So true!!
He was the best. He is from my hometown Houston. When you walk around town there are random paintings of Bill with the third eye all over Houston. Its awesome. You will be walking in some random area and there is a painting of Bill on the wall.
In the immortal words of The Rock.....FINALLY!!!! KTF has reacted to Third Eye!!!! Its been a long time coming but well worth the wait. My favourite Tool song (though we know they are all amazing). This song inspired me as a drummer like no other song has since. Its an emotional rollercoaster. I hear new things every time I hear this song. Its a masterpiece, almost like an orchestral symphony. A work of art. Now you have completed your Tool initiation Preston. All that's left to do is listen to all Tool albums in their entirety (no need for a reaction but just for you). Peace bro \m/
As for top 5 Tool songs, you'd be hard pressed to find any set of Tool fans to agree on a set of five. Maybe two or three, but after that, it all depends on the journey each of us takes while listening to their tracks. Most songs mean something different to many people.
considering that most tool fans can't decide on a top five list of their own from one day to the next it would be really hard to pick out a top five consensus lol, my own top five changes with my mood, and rarely lasts longer than a couple days, though it isn't as hard to pick their top five tool albums since they only have the five counting the Opiate EP, at least until the end of August lol
I couldn't even pick a top 10 if I had to, too many greats and it would constantly change... I can pick ONE Tool song I could live without, the rest are all brilliant. Ticks and Leeches is good but never clicked all the way for me, so that's the one song.
KTF.......or Preston..... You're my boy...... I love you forever just for having the balls to do this Third Eye video..... I had that song on repeat in my drum room for 2 months learning how to play along with them.......and you're right bro, it could be their best song.....of course I love MANY TOOL songs but I've definitely spent the most time on this one.... You're reaction was pure and honest......thank you very, very much sir.....
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Check out Puscifer, Maynard's third band: (Galileo/ Horizons/ The Remedy/ The Humbling River/ Autumn/ Momma Sed)
Preston. I love that you more than just understand tool songs, you feel them. They are the truest works of art to me. Words cannot describe the level of emotion these works of art produce. Simply put, these are the poems of true genius
Yeah, this one threw me off the when I first listened to it. You could see Preston struggling to "find the beat" in this song, and I had the same problem. Needless to say, it grew on me. Having a better understanding of music theory now, in particular polyrhythms and complex mixed time signatures - i.e. not only having changing time signatures (which is what inspired the lyrics for "Lateralus"), but having different band members in different time signatures - listening to it in this reaction just blows me away!
Had the pleasure of seeing them play live again (third time for me) two weeks ago. After waiting for 13 years for them to return to Europe. They fucking blew my mind AGAIN. I was skeptical beforhand like Maynard's voice isn't what it used to be etc. I was wrong. Two hours straight into another dimension. If they come around your town Preston, please go and see them and tell us all about it! Set up a patreon to fund that ticket. You'll have it in an hour!
I feel like Preston might be from my home area of Indiana, or somewhere around there in the Midwest. Tool was just there at the end of June. It might’ve been in a town like an hour away, I live in Florida now though so I couldn’t make it. Bummin.
They are so much more than just a rock band. No one compares to Tool, I've never heard a song and mistakingly thought it to be them. Their new album is finally out next month. Supposedly the shortest song is 11 minutes.
This song, even more than other TOOL songs, grows on you. After 20 years I have to say this song has become part of my soul, I would truly be incomplete without it
Preston, I love your reactions to Tool. Reminds of my first time with Tool. It’s just ridiculous how good their catalogue of music is. Thank you for making your journey available.
Listening to this song on acid is on my bucket list. Lots of people don't like it, but to me it's one of the best songs Tool's made. Which is to say one of the best songs ever made. Glad to see you appreciate it.
Somebody with editing talent put together a collage of “our boy Preston” reacting to tool in the progression of his love for Tool and send it to them. If anyone deserves credit for genuine, interesting and entertaining reactions, it is totally this man. “Hold on bro...” I’d love their reaction to his reactions!
Tool, the band that can make you feel invincible, vulnerable, happy, sad, uneasy and comfortable all at the same time and all the while transporting you to somewhere else for a few minutes.
Your reaction is priceless, there's no experience like tool. I can't wait for the new album too! They might shut down the creative industry for years lmao
This is definitely my favorite song by Tool. I love that transition "poem" in the middle of the song. The imagery is gorgeous. And those guitars... Ahhhhh... Love it.
Most people don't have the patience for this song. I usually don't recommend this to people who aren't already getting into Tool. But if you have the patience and listen carefully, this song is a masterpiece!
Welcome back. I've heard this song probably like 13,876 times, and it is still as awesome as it was the first time I heard it. Most Tool songs are like that for me. This one, in particular, takes you on a long peaceful and pummeling journey. Great job bro!
King, your absorption of the detail and complexity of this song is truly amazing. I would submit most people do not have your grasp of musical complexity and Tool is the pinnacle of complex music. This song is my favorite song in existence and Tool is my favorite band. This song is a roller coaster of peace, chaos, anger, longing and above all a reminder , in the simplest way, to have an open mind. Open to others around us and their impact and our impacts. In the end, I believe MJK’s thoughts when writing were about his mother who had not passed yet but was not capable of communicating when the song was penned. I believe the song is speaking to his journey even after life in reunion with the pillar in his life who he can no longer commune with. We can all relate to this loss....and the glory of reunion one day. I feel the song ends with reunion “So good to see you once again...” An absolutely profound song both in message and complex musicianship. This song transcends every song that has ever hit my ears. It is the human journey.
third eye really is a masterpiece. Its just such a crazy piece of music thats just so profound and beautiful when you want that. Its never going to be a man i wanna groove stick on third eye. Its a lay there and get the feels song. Amazing.
I saw Tool in 1996, they opened with this song after about ten minutes of this pulsating bass rumble that felt like your rib cage would rattle out of your chest. The crowd was going nuts while they waited for the band to take the stage. Maynard was painted head to toe in grey paint on the left and blue paint on the right, wearing nothing but a grey and blue Speedo that made him look naked. They had total control of the crowd, when it was hype the place was going bonkers, when they were hypnotic the crowd was mesmerized. I never saw anything like it before or since. Truly an experience I'll never forget.
I just subbed as a 1st time listener... because you reacted to this song!! It's one of my all time favorites, and 4° also. . I love the first 2 albums and Opiate obviously, they're so raw and heavy.. Especially if you listen to Lateralus and 10k days and then switch back. OMG!! A stark difference, but I love everything they've ever wrote. 8-30-19 👁️🤘
Yes, finally did it!!! This epic, cinematic, mind blowing, etc... etc... monster of a song is up there with the best of the best. Probably my favorite Tool track! We’ll see what the new album brings. So far so good!
idk for some reason i wasn't blown away when i first listened, i think after hearing it again quite stoned something clicked because now it's one of my favorites lol... along with basically all the rest of their stuff
Seriously bro. I bought this album the week it came out and this song is still my all time favorite. I'm a huge fan of most of their songs but damn...You know. You can just feel third eye to the core.
Most excellent! Many of us old school tool listeners consider this to be their most epic song, and one of the true favorites. I feel like you discovered it at about the right place in your tool journey.
should do the live version of Third Eye from their Salival EP. That one might be my favorite. Edit: Yeah just went back to that song first time in a couple of years. Third Eye (Live Salival) is my favorite song of all time.
I love how the first thing you say when the song is over is "it's been so long since I listened to TOOL..." absolutely perfect for this song. Keep prying open that third eye bro, so good to see you once again :)
I'm arriving to this party a little late! Your reaction to the scream 6 mins in (my favorite part of this song) and the way your eyes lit up, tho? That was fucking priceless.
This is easily one of their best songs. The problem with Tool is they have a lot of songs that can be their best song depending on your mood. When I want to feel, I listen to Lateralus. When I want to go inside myself, I listen to Third Eye.
Preston, I have a lot of respect for your channel. You approach your reactions with an honest and open mind. I've been impressed with your Tool reactions overall. But this right here.. this right here takes that respect to another level. Third Eye is an obscure song that often takes many listens to enjoy.
I definitely think it's their best song. I was also fortunate enough to see them play it live. You should check out the version of this on Salival. New album is out August 30th.

Would have better odds picking lotto numbers than finding matching top 5 lists
considering that most tool fans can't decide on a top five list of their own from one day to the next it would be really hard to pick out a top five consensus lol, my own top five changes with my mood, and rarely lasts longer than a couple days, though it isn't as hard to pick their top five tool albums since they only have the five counting the Opiate EP, at least until the end of August lol
That’s what happens when every damn song is good. How many bands can say that? Just amazing. Even their weakest songs are great compared to many bands
I couldn't even pick a top 10 if I had to, too many greats and it would constantly change... I can pick ONE Tool song I could live without, the rest are all brilliant. Ticks and Leeches is good but never clicked all the way for me, so that's the one song.
@@cerebralfailure8804 Exactly lol, I'll have a different top 5 by this Wednesday. Cannot wait for this new album.
Don't forget the sexy Rev 22:20
t_traspis Their performance of Toma on Jimmy Kimmel Live is pretty great.
First song I learned on the guitar was The Humbling River
Trekka spaghetti mix is best
Tool Only Tool
Preston. I love that you more than just understand tool songs, you feel them. They are the truest works of art to me. Words cannot describe the level of emotion these works of art produce. Simply put, these are the poems of true genius
It takes 10-20 listens to truly appreciate this one, it is the best Tool song, with a good sound system too
Retexid agreed
I agree
Or at least a good set of headphones connected to a good dac/amp combo
It gets better after the 100th listen
Yeah, this one threw me off the when I first listened to it. You could see Preston struggling to "find the beat" in this song, and I had the same problem. Needless to say, it grew on me. Having a better understanding of music theory now, in particular polyrhythms and complex mixed time signatures - i.e. not only having changing time signatures (which is what inspired the lyrics for "Lateralus"), but having different band members in different time signatures - listening to it in this reaction just blows me away!
It is the best feeling in the world to see someone enjoy this song/Tool all together as much as this man does.
Bummin.
he's def in the central IL area. went to a Disturbed show in Peoria, back at the end of Jan
Hell yeah, he finally did it! The way the drums lull you into a trance and carry you through the whole song is just perfection!
I like how they make things uncomfortable, which is what the best art does.
They are so much more than just a rock band. No one compares to Tool, I've never heard a song and mistakingly thought it to be them. Their new album is finally out next month. Supposedly the shortest song is 11 minutes.
My boy Preston reacting to Tool makes the world a better place!
This song, even more than other TOOL songs, grows on you. After 20 years I have to say this song has become part of my soul, I would truly be incomplete without it
Absolutely love this,
“WTF!? This one song is better than a lot of bands today album!”
You are correct sir 👊🏼💯
Preston, I love your reactions to Tool. Reminds of my first time with Tool. It’s just ridiculous how good their catalogue of music is. Thank you for making your journey available.
The TOoL God's Are Pleased with you Again Prestin. 🙌
Prying open my third eye!!
TOOL EULOGY next please?
Already did that one

Yes! MoreTool! I saw them in St. Louis on May 13th. It was amazing!
The sheer level of intricacies and detail in this one song is astonishing.
I love your genuine reactions to the best original band in the world! Check out the live version on there live album! Thats an outer body experience!!
third eye really is a masterpiece. Its just such a crazy piece of music thats just so profound and beautiful when you want that. Its never going to be a man i wanna groove stick on third eye. Its a lay there and get the feels song. Amazing.
It’s like Texas weather. If you don’t like it... give it a minute, it’ll be different.
This song is amazing live, it will crush the air out of your lungs!!
My favorite album, should buy tools CD the artwork is outlandish
I spent like an hour fucking around with just the packaging of Aenema
Yes, finally did it!!! This epic, cinematic, mind blowing, etc... etc... monster of a song is up there with the best of the best. Probably my favorite Tool track! We’ll see what the new album brings. So far so good!
I was about to give up on you going back to TOOL. Please don’t wait so long next time.
August 30th, he'll probably have a full album reaction for us
You my friend are an ambassador. I've seen many reaction videos on RUclips but you're the first one I've seen do a reaction to Tool's Third Eye.
Third eye is a tough listen for some, strange even for tool. I'm glad u appreciated it
idk for some reason i wasn't blown away when i first listened, i think after hearing it again quite stoned something clicked because now it's one of my favorites lol... along with basically all the rest of their stuff
I’m so glad TOOL are getting the appreciation they deserve by so many music fans! This is the best album of all time!
You're tired of waiting for the new album?! Dude, try waiting 13 years!
Waiting on the COVID album I have convinced myself they have been making.
Seriously bro. I bought this album the week it came out and this song is still my all time favorite. I'm a huge fan of most of their songs but damn...You know. You can just feel third eye to the core.
Saw them 3 days ago live in Lisbon! It was a fkn blast concert!!!! \o/
I'd really like to to see a reaction to that and Pushit live Salival version
I love how the first thing you say when the song is over is "it's been so long since I listened to TOOL..." absolutely perfect for this song.
Keep prying open that third eye bro, so good to see you once again :)
I’ve done raised my kids, went back to school, graduated, while waiting for the next tool to drop.
I’m an old man now
I'm arriving to this party a little late! Your reaction to the scream 6 mins in (my favorite part of this song) and the way your eyes lit up, tho? That was fucking priceless.
Lateralus is my top Tool song. They freakin incorporated the Fibonacci Sequence into the fabric of the song. Who does that???
I believe the entire album
This is easily one of their best songs. The problem with Tool is they have a lot of songs that can be their best song depending on your mood. When I want to feel, I listen to Lateralus. When I want to go inside myself, I listen to Third Eye.
The live version off Salival album is pretty spectacular too.
Preston, I have a lot of respect for your channel. You approach your reactions with an honest and open mind. I've been impressed with your Tool reactions overall. But this right here.. this right here takes that respect to another level. Third Eye is an obscure song that often takes many listens to enjoy.
DO MORE TOOL MAN !!!!! I have been waiting and wondering why you havnt done any TOOL reactions in a while!!! Let's see some more ! :)
I definitely think it's their best song. I was also fortunate enough to see them play it live. You should check out the version of this on Salival.
New album is out August 30th.
