      Not sure if it counts as one "play" or not (though I note you DID include it), but NOBODY can top Reggie Miller's 8 points in about as many seconds - and *2* steals - vs the Knicks.
      Should be ranked a LOT higher than 8'th.
      You left off the REST of the play though, where he stole the inbound pass AGAIN and scored the winning bucket.

    I knew that had to be #1. As a moment in time, Jordan stealing at the defensive end then nailing the winning shot to seal his 6th championship is pure storybook. But McGrady’s unreal streak of insane shots is unparalleled.

      @@kevinjohnson3119 How are those plays? It's best plays and not performances. Jordan's is clearly #1. Championship winning steal and shot. He missed that,then it goes to a game 7 in Utah,which the Jazz would've easily won,since Pippen was injured and Rodman and Jordan were worn out. And as the other guy said,Magic's hook should also be in this list.

    • @dweezy4103
      @dweezy4103 8 лет назад

      +Tom Kramer since there isnt a specific definition for a play in basketball like there is in football for example, anything can be put up basically. so kobes shot that gave him the 2nd most points in a game in nba history is here. maybe he didnt put wilts here because it was so old the quality would be bad, too old to be counted, or bc they lost the game idk

    • @drewyang8996

      @dweezy4103 8 лет назад

      Drew Yang well i thought so too, but many top play videos have kobes 81 point game and they show his last few shots like this one. A lot of them say what i just said. No clear cut definition of a play in basketball which is why you have some buzzer beaters and stuff like tmac and kobes highlights. I agree with you tbh that it shouldn't be a play but a performance but im just saying the reasoning behind putting it in this video and many others

      You can agree that scoring a lot of meaningless points in an early regular season game is the most historic moment in NBA history? They were 9-11 at that point and finished 7th in the conference. They lost 4-1 to the Lakers in the first round. "Greatest" means "greatest" and scoring a bunch of meaningless points in a short amount of time doesn't mean much when your team has a losing record and is heading for a first round exit.

      There would have been no need to put up Kobe Bryant. Bryant really only scored 74 if you take away the tree pointer as the great Wilt Chamberlain wasn't allowed any back in that day.

    These are great. Thank you for bringing back the player I consider the "Babe Ruth of Basketball." Wilt was not simply fabulous, but, as did Ruth, he changed the nature of the game. I'd also like to see the play where Wilt and Gene Conley (who also pitched for the Phillies, and played basketball for the Celtics) went for the ball, and got in a tugfest, with Wilt lifting the 225-pound Conley off the floor, and trying to stuff the ball (with Conley hanging on) into the net. Oh, my!

    TMac for me was one of the most explosive scorers in the game. Combination of length, skill, athleticism and pure talent made him a deadly scorer. Such a shame injuries cut off his career and the fact that when healthy he wasnt as motivated as the likes of KOBE and MJ. If he had that Mamba mentality he would’ve have been one of the all
    Time greats. respect to the Black Mamba! rIP KOBE

    • @azrielnguyen9586
      @azrielnguyen9586 Год назад +2

      pretty disrespectful to say he wasn't as motivated as Kobe or MJ. You're looking for a flaw if comparing mentality to those two psychos. TMac's injury is the result of a terrible landing habit where all his weight is entirely on his left foot. If it weren't for this we all might've been treated to a rivalry for the ages (T-Mac vs Kobe).

    One play that definitely should have made the list is this one:
    "On May 5, 1981, Larry Bird followed up his own missed shot in what legendary coach Red Auerbach described as the greatest play he'd ever seen, leading the Boston Celtics to a win over the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of the 1981 NBA Finals."
    Description: Larry Bird shoots with his right hand, misses the shot, jumps to take his own rebound, shoots a second time (this time using his left hand) BEFORE he lands, and makes the second shot. I've never seen anything like it. (It should be noted that Larry Bird is right-handed.)
