Dr. J's rock the cradle dunk in the NBA finals is my favorite dunk in NBA history. I watch that game live. My favorite dunk since seeing when it happened.💯
To me, Dr. J is the guy who really started America's excitement over dunking. Just thinking of all those times he would take off at the foul line, reach the apex and then come down on the rim like he was landing a jet. Man, his knees must hurt him today!
Rock the Baby Dunk. Etched in stone for the rest of time. Most beautiful thing to witness in NBA history. Swagger, style, ability, hang time, Authority. It had it all.
I don't even like basketball. I'm a hockey fan. But, if I ever see a thumbnail hinting that Dr. J's "baby" is in there, then I just click and smile in anticipation.
DR J started and invented it. But MJ did my favorite version of it from the right hand side and the other direction in the 80s in games and dunk contests, though.
That first move by Doc is, to me, still the greatest single move/play in NBA history. I'm sure there have been better things since but for that time (and even now) it was out of this world. I've always said there were many players better than Erving but no player evolved the game quicker than he did. He was the most monolithic player ever.

I think Dr. J's house call against the Lakers and his steal and slam on Cooper were two of the most athletically beautiful things you can see on a basketball court.
You know what cracks me up about that Tyreke half court buzzer beater at 12:45? One kings bench player who knew it was going in despite being less than halfway the distance to the hoop and started running onto the court and jumping around.
With Bird's steal against Detroit, the steal was great, but Dennis Johnson's cut to the basket is what really made the play, and showed just how much of a team those Celtics were...
I'd like to add Jeff Malone's ridiculous buzzer beater in 1984 regular season against Detroit and Larry Birds long three that sent the Hawks bench reeling in his 60 point game to this wonderful addendum.
Derek Rose has ZERO highlights on this video! That is a very notable omission, considering not only how spectacular some of his highlights were, but also some dominant game-winning shots and takeovers.

Out of everyone though, Iverson was by far the quickest player I've ever seen. Unreal to watch up close.
Dr. J's and Jordan's plays are the top two of all time because it was done in the most crucial time of a game and on the biggest possible stage. #CLUTCH
A video montage that lives up to it's title. These were many of the greatest moments in the league in the last 30 years. There were probably more from earlier in the league that they could have shown but these are the ones I remember. What a video. Fitting to end with Michael Jordan's winning shot for his last championship.
The one thing we were robbed of in the Jordan era was a Olajuwan/Jordan matchup in the finals we lost out on in '94 and '95 due to Jordan playing baseball. Hakeem was just a guy who added and added to his game every year, at his peak he was the most complete center I ever saw.
Actually he was always skilled af. its just he never had a team around him to do what Jordan did. Hakeem didnt have Pippen and a well oiled machine behind him. He carried those teams on his back. The only help he had was in 1986 when he had Samson but that was brief and he reached the finals with Samson in his 2 years in NBA. the Bulls without Jordan were championship caliber team alone.Let that sink in. They were eliminated by the Knicks 4-3 who then narrowly lost the final 4-3 to Hakeem. I dont think Olajuvon's Houston in 1994 would have beaten the Bulls with Jordan. The Bulls were just on another level with Jordan. If Hakeem had at least another hall of famer on his team - then it might have been a different story.

Replaying the play when Bird steals the ball vs the Pistons that is not the version with Johnny Most in it should be punishable with 10,000 dollar fine and/or 5 years in jail. Good video though.
