I wish they had train whistles! You could use those as warnings that a train is coming at your crossing points, to help you from getting run over. In real life, there are small "W" signs (called whistle boards) next to tracks that tell the train conductor that they must blow their whistle at that spot - usually placed ahead of blind corners and crossings or tunnel entrances and exist. I'd love to be able to place a whistle sign next to a track, much like you'd place a signal. I'm sure you could probably do this using circuit network logic, but just placing a simple W sign would be great.
Sounds like a mod waiting to happen. Now you can have half a second of abject horror each time you survive and not just the inconvenience of only randomly dying
@@dogefort8410i have at one point implemented safe pedestrian crossings for my tracks, they would close gates to prevent player entering tracks if a train is closeby and stop trains if player is crossing
You can already do that by reading a train signal, so that when the signal is red or yellow, it turn on a speakers dedicated to your crossing. That's what I did in my first play, before making my own CombinatorLess safe crosswalk. Be aware though, once you have enough exoskelletons, hearing a train is useless. (That's why a safe crosswalk is better)
That sounds great 😉. I think that sound is one of the biggest things that was a little bit lacking in Factorio, especially in comparison to Satisfactory where factory sounds are just 👌.
Im a guy who LOVES good sound design and loves to focus on stupidly tiny details in audio. This new audio feature puts such a massive smile on my face. I just started playing factorio in late december of 2023 and is starting to pick this game back up again. (i still am on my first base ._.) Seeing these new additions that will be coming in august of this year (!!!) Is both exciting but also extremely intimidating especially since im still learning the current game. I really enjoy reading the blog posts on the factorio website and cant wait until this update comes out!
A bit off topic and specific, but i would like to see more realistic rails when built on concrete or bricks. Real train tracks don't have ballast rocks when they are built into roads, concrete and such.
That's a really good point. I feel like it wouldn't be too hard to do either. Just have the graphic change of it's on top of any of those types of tiles.
Hope there are different animal noises on the different worlds that can support them. Love the little bit of added immersion and world building. The world needs to feel more alive. A stark contrast of before and after once you've paved over it and built machines. Hopefully the biters get an art rework. Would be cool to see them evolve more. From docile to dangerous to end game perfect killing machines Ala Tyranid style. It would be cool to see them build larger hives too.
@@Xterminator It may not be the recording, it could be the RUclips codec encoding used when publishing??? I've heard other youtubers say that is sometimes an issue. Though I really know nothing about it. Perhaps make a private test video so you can check the dB level on the playback. Thanks
I'm surprised that they didn't directly show a rocket silo at ~40 UPS because that's the only place where I've specifically been annoyed by Factorio's sound system. The animation and the sound are so long that when UPS is significantly below 60 you'll hear the rocket take off several seconds before the engines even ignite. Presumably they broke that sound up into several accent sounds that are keyed to the animation.
True, but I think it’s for the best and kind of expected, for me personally anyway. They wanted to start with a bang to give people obvious reasons to be excited. And now they kinda need to save big stuff closer close to release to drum up more excitement at release of Space Age.
Ohh I didn't even think about that, but it's an excellent point. Because you'd think they would include enemy noises here too. Seems they purposely left them out
For sure! I've actually never played Project Zomboid but I've heard good things about it. Always great when a game gets a huge update with tons of new content and improvements!

I have a habit every playthrough of creating a massive unorganized intersection of rails, death becomes inevitable in my bases

The train sounds a bit more like a roller coaster than a train.
omg i love it , all those inventory sounds just gonna make factory feel ever more satisfying while playing ohhh mannnnn :DD

I thought the car sound changed as it drove over the stone fields.
Hey, could you boost your audio gain? Most of your recent videos have been rather quite; the stats say its -16dB. Thanks!
Hmm I think I have it maxed out but I'll double check and see what to can do!

10:00 Imagine if they made it so you'd hear animals screaming as you burned down the forests, that'd really turn people into tree huggers.
lol, human don't work that way.....
The elevated rail rolling sounds a lot like in Minecraft
It always bugged me that the steam engines in factorio speed up when under load, which is not how they work in real life!
they really spoiled us with banger fffs back to back, now these more normal fffs doesn't seem so exciting, still really good tho
