My absolute favorite part of this game is when you've gone so far and been building a huge factory for so long that after a while It seems like something completely alien to you. Like it's become it's own entity completely independent of you
Note about the lack of discount - it's actually always been a part of developers' policy, they never do that. Their reasoning is that they priced their game according to what they believe it's honestly worth and would rather see that than raising the price only to then discount it regularly.
And they don't want anyone to ever potentially hit buyer's regret from buying it right before a sale they didn't know about. It has a pretty in-depth demo and you know what the price will always be.
Add to this the fact that it's easy to pirate anyway, but you need to buy it to get mods. So people who can't afford to spend much money on games still have both the opportunity to get fully addicted to it and a reason to buy it anyway.

Mandalore’s character development is weird. He goes from thinking anime is weird in Shogo, now there’s like 5 anime references in 5 minutes in this video.
What's way more amusing is that he did watch anime, but it's the manime genre(mechs) and how he didnt get the point of moe. Now he calls a space bug cute because of its anime eyes while the SFX used is some cringy con video that's nearly 2 decades old.
So, can we count it as an authentic experince of a person travelling through ranks of AdMech from a lowly human with a hammer, who does everything manually to horrifying monstrosity in a nuclear armed spider mech body that thinks in patterns impossible for normal human mind and controls a whole factory world?
"Are there any differences?" "Well one of them cost me my job, my friends, and my life, leaving me a shivering wreck begging for another hit. But the other is illegal."
The music actually gets briefly quieter when the left labs run out of resources, but gets back to the normal volume once they start working again. And the volume they make is panned to the left. This is why Mandalore videos are always worth the wait, the amount of attention to detail is on another level.

Barely played this game but this is what you call a near perfect game with little to no major flaws. It has a 98% positive rate for a reason. It's insane how well this game is made.
My first game's factory was surprisingly small, simple, and very spread out. This was an absolutely horrible mistake as it was also incredibly inefficient. Finally got to playing a 2nd game after a couple years, my first base was ok, but I was having issues mass producing piercing rounds as I was going for the Raining Bullets achievement, so wanted to make sure I had a dependable supply for a long time. Made a new base a bit to the west, with its own source of Iron and Copper, first dedicated that factory to bullets and other weaponry foremost. Then 10 hours later it was my new home, and my old base was made completely obsolete in producing anything except bullets and mall type items. For my new base I tried to start it with a main bus system, 5 mintues later the buses had at least 5 different turns and the whole place became spaghetti central. And thats how I know I am a true Factorio player now.

My absolute favorite part of this game is when you've gone so far and been building a huge factory for so long that after a while It seems like something completely alien to you. Like it's become it's own entity completely independent of you
It is the best and worst feeling in the world.
And at £21 the game is a steal considering the 100s of hours you'll put into it
Let's be honest here: the game is worth *WAY MORE* than $30, even when looking at the older versions
500 hours in at $20 during alpha was a steal, and it's still a steal now at $30 at 1.0 release.
Add to this the fact that it's easy to pirate anyway, but you need to buy it to get mods. So people who can't afford to spend much money on games still have both the opportunity to get fully addicted to it and a reason to buy it anyway.
"Oh, it's a girl!" As someone who lives in California, I laughed hard and cried a little at the same time.

"The factory must grow"
I'm pretty sure that there's an SCP that's a sentient factory that constantly tries to expand itself
Factorio is just a SCP
There is, it's a bunch of gears that have to be immersed in saltwater because if they un-rust they start projecting noise into your brain until you feed it more metal at an accelerating rate.
TBF, there's a LOT of self-replicating SCPs, or ones that can "spread" themselves like infections.
There's red water/ice that upon contact with normal water switches that water's phase changes.
