You unlock an item's abilities by finding a duplicate or upgrading it at the workshop. The side quests are easy to get caught up in, but at least when you get sidetracked by them then they turn out to be interesting 😊
I absolutely love the crossroads and Arlathan forest! And see the banter improves, Harding threatened to kill Lucanis twice in like 15 min 😅 Lucanis has the best banter with literally everyone!
It got a good chuckle out of me! Finally, some banter that I’ve been craving for. The dialogue is definitely improving and it’s starting to sound like the older DA games; balance between corny, insults, positive reinforcements, and snark 😂
@heyamarii Yes, it also improves a LOT later on when you make story decisions and when you're actively in a romance! They comment on it a lot and tease you lol it's actually genuinely hilarious later on. In DAI they hardly ever commented on your relationship but here they can't shut up about it which I love! Oh and writing and story wise it elevates so much later on. There are genuinely creepy quests and locations still waiting for you! You're still at the beginning, I haven't even scratched the surface of most locations at 30+ hours, it's a huge game.
@ranar.582 when I saw how many Eluvians there were and zoomed out to world map, I realised how big this game is 😂 I can’t wait for tomorrow. I would absolutely play more tonight but ughhh real life. I can’t wait to start my romance. I’m flirting shamelessly for as long as I can because I just want to see a glimpse of each companion as a love interest 😂 some of the flirt options are really not flirty to me, they just sound like something nice someone would say.
@@heyamarii Lucanis's romance is such a slow burn but so very worth it. The way all the other companions they tease him about it is freaking adorable!! Girl that's valid flirt away but don't lead them on too long lol I was scared to flirt because they might think I'm into them and what if I have to turn them down? I'M SUCH A COWARD. But after Lucanis came along I was obsessed and didn't actually want to flirt with them anyway 🤣 I was like it's so over for you all cause this man won the moment he came flying with those purple wings 😂
@ranar.582 I love those slow burn romances, I don’t want a whirlwind that’s over as soon as it began. I’ve heard Davrin’s is pretty good too. I’m going to have to play this multiple times to romance multiple people 😂 You can live vicariously through my flirting 😂
How are you finding it so far? Waiting for more episodes so I can binge watch. I ended up refunding my DA:V, did not like it much at all if I'm being honest so I'll just watch you.
I am having so much fun! And the story is really engaging. The story has been moving at a really good pace where I don’t feel rushed, but when I go for it then there is a lot of action and story to pull me along. I’m sorry to hear you didn’t have fun with it, but I’m happy you gave it a shot! It’s always good to try out something for yourself and make your own judgement. I think the major issue I had was the dialogue being soooo heavy on narrative and exposition that it felt forced and insincere. But as I’ve gotten further along, it starting to sound less like that, and more like DA. I’m assuming the writers added all this odd dialogue to catch new players up to the older material. I’m hoping it gets better because I feel a little disconnected from the companions still, I don’t know their personalities beyond the tone of their voice
I think you should be able to still. Are you early in the game as well? I think only main missions act as the timer for side and companion missions. This is in Arlathan Forest
I wouldn’t say the AI isn’t up to par; they move, block, and engage in a similar way that most games do for this difficulty level. They have much better pathing than a lot of games I’ve played; enemies can move around objects in their way and even find me hiding behind something for cover. I’ve noticed enemies block or dodge my attacks at a reasonable quantity for the default difficulty. I’m not sure how higher difficulty scales the enemies, whether their max hp is just doubled, or if they have a higher chance of dodging and blocking my attacks. So far the only mini boss I’ve fought was the pride demon and the ogre. Their fights were engaging, I had to move a significant amount as they were quite aggressive enemies. The combat encourages players to block, dodge, and move as often as we have to attack
I’m really not sure I like the art style of this game and I have seen there’s some major pushback against the overly aggressive woke culture and things like that. That bit doesn’t bother me as much but the whole thing does seem very… juvenile somehow. How do you find it? I so love popping in to watch you play though 😊
The art style for the characters is a hard adjustment for me for sure. I haven’t seen anything overly in my face, but I’ve heard that there is some writing later on that doesn’t feel genuine. So far, it seems like the normal banter dialogue is starting to show up and it is beginning to remind me of the older DA games; the cheesiness, snark, and playfulness. It took a while to get here, there was quite a bit of exposition and I suspect I may have a bit more to get through since I’m early in the story. The game is fun however, and the environment is really where this game shines. I feel immersed in the environment. The combat is so much better than DAI too. I loved the story and characters in DAI but that combat made me want to claw my eyes out 😂 it’s just spamming the same button and waiting for the fight to be over already

Let’s be honest, Solas with hair is unwatchable. He reminds me of Jack in ME3, but I loved her bald. 😂 😅 😊 ❤
