    I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

    These battery saws are no joke. I bought a 12 inch Black and Decker. Since I got it I bought 2 more batteries. It’s nuts what they can do. This saw is much bigger and very impressive Nice video.

    I bought this 3 weeks ago and used it yesterday first time I love it comparing to others it’s a champ . Trust me guys this isn’t a toy and you could cut your leg off using this if you don’t pay attention to what you’re doing. Very quiet comparing to gas and has a lot of power .

    I've been using mine for firewood cutting works nice very handy saw it's a standard along with my circular saw, sawzall, impact drill,multitool. Theres no need for a 16" gas saw. I still prefer Huskquvarna for All day work

  • @wcb22516

    You should stack the wood together so ppl can get a better example of expected cuts.
    That is good you cut different size wood.
    I have one and a blower and string trimmer. The other two came with bigger batteries!

    i laughed at battery powered tools when they first came out but not anymore. i flip houses and we use ALL battery tools except a table saw, a large compound radial arm saw and a wood planer. all hand tools are battery. we do a lot of outside work also like decks, landscaping, etc. and i'm right now comparing battery chain saws. we already have battery blowers and vacuums. you can't beat battery tools for being quiet in residential areas, early in the morning, late at night and weekend work. ALSO, i built a portable "charging unit" that's in my pick-up consisting of a large solar panel and a 110v converter which has a couple of battery chargers plugged in. we just leave the extra batteries charging all the time. i would not use a battery chain saw if i was cutting large trees or in the firewood business but for 90% of work around a house or small acreage or for any kind of remolding job, you can't bet the batteries. finally, i can't even name the number of small gas tools i've had that only work for a short time and then you can't get them started. i have no interest in pulling a cord for 15 minutes straight anymore just to complete a task. AND - with the ethanol blended gas in Pennsylvania, you CAN NOT leave gas in small tools now!! you have to drain all this gas out if you're going to store the tool for more than a couple weeks. if you don't you're taking the carb apart or paying someone to get the damn thing running again.

    I had yellow 18 volt cordless until the whole set was stolen. For the most part I didn"t have any complaints with quality or performance but really didn"t have any reference with other brands except for observation of what my employees used.
    Due to economic issues I ended up buying a used set of the M18's and was totally impressed. Definitely a step up from the D's. Love the fuel gage , that was worth it right there as no more guessing about the charge. Better feel, smoother, quieter and the 12volt Hackzall is the best thing since sliced cheese so not surprised about the chainsaw. That's my next tool for sure as it always seems to be a pita to dig out the gas saw for just a few cuts and then wonder whether it will start or not.
    Thanks for the review as I didn"t know Milwaukee made a chain saw.

    We were out on our favorite fireroad and came on a tree across the road. My brother-in-law said no problem and whipped out his chain saw. 50 pulls later he gave up, 50 pulls later I gave up. He pulled another 50 times and finally it started. If we had this Milwaukee, we would have been long gone up the trail.
    I know it isn't a gas saw as I own 3 large Stihl saws that can drop a 4 foot diameter tree without blinking and they have their purpose. This Milwaukee would make trail clearing a breeze instead of a chore. Yes, it is better than gas because of the fingertip start/run. I'm getting one.

    I have an honest question. I am a Milwaukee guy myself, their products are great. What I do want to know is this. How is the bar Oiler? Does it oil enough? Secondly does it leak when not in use? I absolutely hate that when I saw leaks bar oil when sitting. The only saws I’ve owned that DONT leak at all is my Stihl saws. I have echo, husky, Remington and Stihl. My echo saws leak very little but they do leak, both huskys leak, the Remington leaks a lot and the Stihl saws don’t leak a drop.

    • @MotoCheez
      @MotoCheez  6 лет назад

      The oiler puts out plenty of.oil, mine has not leaked a drop while stored in my Jeep. I also hate when it leaks, the Harbor freight saws leaked so I'd put an old Jean pants leg folded up under the saw in it bag. Don't want all that out in my wranglers rug!!!
      I want to add, I DID have the battery overheat one time using the saw, I had people ask because they heard it was an issue... It's only happened once to me so far

Nope pile o shat take it out and fell a dozen 25 inch oaks or black locusts and dont forget to cut them all up in 18 inch pieces , this machine is for ppl with too much money and not enough brains , sorry but the electric saw wont be replacing gas for a very long time if they were as great as u say why are washington or canadian loggers all not running around with these ? apples to oranges the battary wins sorry but if you started the test at the shed and ended it back at the shed like a real use of it. by the time you get the 2 stroke started im already done and i can work early mornings and into the night before the sound is a problem in town even!!! for someone with real mans work to do in all sorts of places not just the bush it is just unbeatable not even sorry really. if you dont like work being easier for you thats all on you. Me I rather get in out of the 50 degree snake infested oven asap tbh

      @@pamancave1150 Not everyone needs a professional logging saw for designed for tree felling at the commercial scale. But, when you own acreage, a farm, or a ranch you need a chainsaw sometimes, but not all day, not every day, not all the time. This Milwaukee saw looks like a proven performer for someone who is a part-time saw user, but might sometimes need to cut through some decent size trees (ex: storm puts a couple of trees down across the driveway). The bonus here is it's basically a zero-maintenance machine for something you can put on the shelf and come back to later when you need it. I have some Stihl equipment, and it's great and all, but you still need to do more to maintain and keep a gas engine ready to go than you do to keep an electric motor ready to go.

    I cringe whenever I see people doing the back and forth sawing motion while using chainsaws. All you need to do is put the bar to the wood and let the saw do the work. It's not a handsaw but so many people try to use them as such. Just watch any of the videos by professional tree guys and you'll see proper chainsawing technique. Otherwise you did a great job demonstrating the power and efficiency of that Milwaukee chainsaw!

    That's one heavy chainsaw, it's even heavier than some 60cc gas saws. That would be like working with the heaviest allowable bowling ball. The last number in the chart below is the weight of comparable home use saws. 14.5 lbs without the battery add the RedLithium 12Ah @ 3.7lbs, That's over 18 pounds if my numbers are correct. Boy, it does look like a good cutting saw, though. No doubt about that.

      Yep. The motor is a monster. Has to be in order to handle the amps. To output 1500 continuous watts at 18V you need 83 amperes! That's going to take a lot of copper. The real advantage of high voltage saws is not power, it's the ability to use a light weight motor.

      Purchased... Mine came like yours in brown box still 'cause it wasn't on display yet. Mine didn't come with manuals or the little brochure.. I did open 1st from the end you opened 2nd. When charging 1st use charge led was red took battery off put back on after a little over an hour still red left a couple more hours still red took off again checked battery level - all bars put back on immediately green. Wondering if I have a bad charger or battery. Doesn't seem like proper charge indicating. I was also thinking bar was same as my Hitachi 40cc though shocked when I saw it - Hitachi is 18". Can't try out yet due to thunderstorms will probably have time again in a few days. Also don't have time for a few days to exchange hopefully w/ the missing paperwork... Worried about the charger/battery possible issue if it's not norm for 1st use. W/ ultra low existing charge. Haven't any Milwaukee battery tool experience to compare to. End of last year went with the 5amp 18v makitas (newest versions also.. Not the old models on clearance) after a lot of research when they had super sales and was considering Milwaukee but there were no good deals when I was looking... There were a few months later though but I had already been using the makitas and thought they were wonderful compared to the dewaults I use to have and any of what I still had. When this saw and the potential for new Gen of 12amp coming out I was a little disappointed I went w/ different system.

      I buck for a living, used to fall, have been using saws for over 20 years and I'm sorry to say, you don't know what you are talking about. The only time you use the dawgs, is on the really big stuff where you need the extra leverage to get though. I've never broken a saw by not using the dawgs. You want to know where your tip is at all times, so you don't rock your saw, or cut something you don't want to. Many times you either have a log on the ground, or up against another log you don't want to cut. Tip control is essential and everytime I see someone cutting something small, with half the bar hanging out the other side, I know they are an amature. If you are needing to constantly use the extra leverage the dawgs provide, you need to learn how to sharpen your saw better.

      If you sharpen your chain with every fill up it takes about 5 minutes for a 24" bar. This 16" even faster but battery power don't last as long so you can skip sharpening unless you like hitting dirt.

    FUNGUS GROWING ON THE WOOD...PROBABLY PUNKY SOFT WOOD IF NOT TOTALLY ROTTED WOOD. GOOD TEST WOULD BE ON FRESH HARDWOOD. THIS DOESN'T SHOW ME MUCH.

    Bullshit. This review needs to be done by people that use a saw for a living and cut timber with them. When this thing will last all day putting down large trees compared to stihl or husqvarna without packing 30 batteries with you to make a productive day. Then you can say its better than the gas saws.

    • @MotoCheez
      @MotoCheez  5 лет назад

      I never said it would replace a professional saw, if you see it says a .40cc saw. And yes, it's better than a limb .35 saw in many ways. I have professional Husqvarna XP saws. Is it better than those? No way, and I never claimed it was either.

      BTW, I used to cut 10 plus chords a year for heating... I know saws

      "Yes! Its better than gas" is what your video said, and thats what i am replying to. Bullshit!

    • @MotoCheez
      @MotoCheez  5 лет назад

      It is better than gas, 100% not better than any gas saw, nope. But as I said in the description and comments. .40cc.

    Too expensive Same as dewalt flexvolt . If they did a proper saw though might be next year.

      I just emailed DeWalt to see if they'd send me a saw to compare.

      @@MotoCheez Cool not trying to say that DeWalt is better here just saying these chainsaws are not up to par for proffesional use. And I am no saying tree harvesting (that is out of question) More like Timber framing. AvE pretty much took both of them apart they have good electrical motors but the tensioning mechanisms and blade connection to the saw is well flimsy and the price is too high for occasional use or home use. I wonder if anyone has that battery powered Husquarna if they any good.

      5 year warranty says it’s a good product. I own over 30 Milwaukee tools and they are all over 5 years old now. They are hands down some of the greatest battery powered tools on the market today.

      Agreed! I've repaired every different kind of battery tool brand, when I switched to Lithium, it was a toss up between Milwaukee and DeWalt...

      China makes everything and I mean f*cking everything. That country produces some of the most technologically advanced software and hardware ever conceived of. Keep up with the world, you're decades behind. China isn't the only example of globalization.
