I have the 12 volt pruning saw , it’s impressive. Thinking of getting rid of my two gas saws and getting the 18 volt chain. I’m impressed with all my Milwaukee cordless tools.
Good bonus about noise. I'm one to want to mow at 6am on a day off.. long as I didn't drink to much night before lol. But that would be an awesome benefit to mow at 6am and not wake the neighborhood
This thing cuts as fast as my echo 440 and faster then my stihl ms180. Wow battery has come along way, one note I bucked 22" ash and it over heat after about 6 or 7 cuts way over what this saw was intended but still impressive for battery.
I think the high output batteries have a better discharge rating than the standard batteries. Milwaukee's "40CC" comparison claim is probably based on usage with a high output battery. Great video
Just got one of these fine cordless chainsaws and it is a workhorse... Kinda spendy but you cry only once when you buy the best. I have several other Milwaukee cordless tools as well so I have quite a lot of battery packs from 5 to 9 amp hours.
@@shanew7361 I really like it.. it's quiet plenty of power and I have other tools that can use that battery.. Milwaukee drills, saws and cordless trimmers etc.
Wow great review I loved that you tried all the batteries would of loved the know the exact weight when the 5amp battery is in. Awesome job keep up the good work I just ordered mine yesterday and it came with a bonus 9amp battery also for the same cost
Thanks James...yea we will do more vids ...but 12.0ah is definitely the battery you should be using with it ..but 13.9 w 12.0 ...its prob 12 pounds with 5.0ah
Battery life? I own 8 acres of wooded land and am using a chainsaw and brush hog to clear, the switching back and forth is killing me. How may cuts can I get 4-6" trees, and how long does it take to charge
Its nice to see that my 5.0Ah bats will work in it but the heat worries me since its heat that kills lithiums lifespan fast. Make me think the 12.0Ah bat may be the really only practical option unless you dont care about overheating your other bats.
Well u have 3 year warranty...so ur more than good if anything happens during that time span ..all you have 3.0 6.0 and 8.0 as viable options as well as same exact cells as the 12.0aj ✌️
I believe these saws and their direct competitions saws are gonna put a real hurting on the smaller homeowner lines of the saw companies, even if they make battery powered saws which they do ,companies like Milwaukee that make anything from impacts to compressors are just a no brainer to most people
Great demo but i would love to know how long a 5 ah would last i one of these. I have a bunch of those batteries and i cant justify spending $250 on one 12ah.
Aaron Repper pretty good ..got it down to one bar on the 12.0ah butt thst with cutting down 3 trees and chopping them down ..and all the footage ... battery life is best out of any saw ive used
@@toolboss8410 Is there much of a difference in chainsaw performance between the 12.0 and the 8.0? I have a couple 8.0 and was thinking I could get the tool by itself to save money, but I don't want to limit the tool's performance.
@@toolboss8410 I know that larger Milwaukee batteries have more cells in parallel (1P, 2P, 3P). The 12.0 and 9.0 are both 3P but with different cells (21700 vs 18650). The 8.0, 6.0, 5.0, and 4.0 are 2P. The 3.0 HO is 1P, but the 3.0 XC is 2P. Everything else is 1P. I mention all of this because it was my understanding that more cells in parallel means that the battery will resist voltage drop under load and will lose less power as the battery charge declines. This would imply that a 12.0 would be better than an 8.0 (3P vs 2P) despite the fact that they both use 21700 cells. The 12.0 should have less drop in power as the charge decreases. Is that what you mean when you say the 12.0 will give you "more power?" Do you really mean the power/voltage is more stable and declines less under load? And have you noticed a reduction in power as the batteries (12.0 and 8.0) drain down?
Can you please compare the Milwaukee chain saw to the 16" Ego 56. There is currently no video's comparing those. I've heard nothing but good things about the Ego. Thanks in advance.
Hey bud ...i will try...but probably comparable..it really comes down to what ope platform u want to be in ... performance wise like i said comparable .. features might be diffrent ..but comes down to what one is more comfortable for you personally weight , length chain tigning system etc ...👍
Nice video boss! I like how you changed the batteries ad showed us the size difference. Sounds like no change in performance it seems. the only difference is the running times.
Never going to get the same performance with the smaller batteries, the 18650 cells can't supply the amperage the saw is looking for... You'll destroy the batteries in no time doing it. There is a reason why these tools only got released with the new batteries Milwaukee says you can use the smaller batteries but I wouldn't recommend it IMO
Yes the 6.0ah and 12.0ah will be ideal performance wise but this video just showing difference in performance...but you be fine using the 18650 to finish up a job if you have to ...and you won't burn anything up .the saw has technology in it to recognize what battery is in it and will draw the correct amprage..but yes the 6.0ah and 12.0ah hd h.o are ideal
TOOL BOSS Yeah I know you won't burn anything up, the saw knows the difference... But if the tools tried, the batteries would be toast in no time... Fine in a pinch but just not the best thing to use, performance difference is obvious. The 12 or 6 are the only way to go IMO unless your stuck. I'd like to see the load it's asking for full tilt in a log, must be high
Daniel Rodriguez, the small hole is for adding grease to the bearing on the nose sprocket. The larger hole is a hole Oregon puts in the bar to aid in manufacturing.
What’s going on Boss.....just want to pass on a few things that have happened on the job. A few guys have had trouble with running the 12.0 on NON FUEL sawzalls , I don’t know why the Red Link did not stop the tools from overheating but 2 sawzalls got cooked. The fuel models had no problems , have you heard of this ? These were older non fuel units....Btw , good video brother on showing the torque difference.
Milwaukee 12Ah and 9Ah have more power, but in cold weather, 12Ah and 9Ah will die before the 5Ah battery It happened on my Milwaukee M18 sawzall. I prefer to use a 5Ah battery in cold weather under 40F.
I'm not sure you understand electricity fundamentals. They are all 18 volt batteries, they all have the exact same power! The Amp Hour rating is how many amps it will run per hour...it's runtime...
Nice review, boss!! I like that you were trying the different Ah batteries. I was waiting for you to pull out a 2Ah, lol (it'd probably work, too). It's a sweet kit...just wish it was a little less expensive (considering my limited use). At $329, I probably wouldn't hesitate. That 12Ah would work great in their other OPE. I recently got the trimmer/free blower deal (both are fantastic, as you know) and it would give them a nice boost in runtime.
Great saw joe ..beats makita in everything except comfortablity ..if thats the right word ...lol ..i think may have over double the run time over the makita too ...but makita is a great saw ...but makita needs to get some bigger batteries out

Curious to see how many cuts with 1.5 AH. Will it lose a ton of torque?
Colt 604 now we are talking lol and the weight savings for when your in a tree lol
Are they not 2ah batteries for the m18? Pretty sure 2 is the smallest, dewalt has the 1.5s
1.5AH and 2.0 AH do not have sufficient current to power-on such tool. You need at least 3.0 AH (with 2 pairs of cells).
