So, something interesting i wanted to bring up...apparently Viper has cybernetic hands like a simulacrum (the type of robot Ash is) but it's obvious that he has lungs from all his coordinated breathing. I'm thinking that he may have cybernetic implants to help him survive the extreme g-force and altitudes his custom titan can achieve.
Viper is my favorite boss not only because of the difficulty, but because he's the only one of the Apex Predators that doesn't really have a quirk like taking ears or killing unarmed prisoners for fun. He's just a pilot that's *REALLY* good at his job, just like Cooper is. I think Woolie from Super Best Friends Play said it best: "No, Viper is not an asshole, he's just as cocky as a pilot of his caliber should be!" Edit: since this is blowing up, I just wanted to say to anyone that got here from the recent Apex news, give Titanfall 2 a shot when you can. It's one of my favorite FPS games and the community is always welcome to new pilots joining.
That's beacuse what apex should be , elite pilots working for contract Sadly in this game we only see a kinda crazy dudes ( kane who is a pyromaniac and kinda crazy , richter who seems like some kind of tribe guy by the way it talks his native language and takes trophy's , ash which she just loves to kill people , and sloane Wich is like ash but she likes to kill people who doesn't have. A chance to fight back ) Viper is a truly skilled pilot and he even recognize cooper as a really good one too in his fight , and also there is blisk which he points it out " you kill me you are better , I kill you I'm better" "oi , this fight is what you are born for" like life is a entire test in which only the best get ahead , also is a nice touch that he gives cooper an apex target after he defeat the members which he was working with in that job , proving that cooper was better than every single one of them , so if he considers joining them as he sees cooper a hella of good pilot which his talent is wasted on the militia and his complex of hero ... Blisk will be waiting for him

Vipers bossfight for me was like 30 minutes long which is like what 30x the length of all the other fights for me and “Vipers got you in the pipe 5x5” literally was stuck in my head for the rest of the campaign and several hours after I beat the campaign like holy he said it so many times I linked that phrase in my brain to immediate death because holy I felt squishy fighting viper I literally had to switch to expedition just so I could use xo 16 to shred his health bar and be done with that
I have The answer, The chassis of Northstar prime have capacity of more missiles ,so Viper adapt a Prime chassis in a standard chassis (The thing that you like The thing that you uprage)
Just remember, that he’s far more torturous on master. AND if you use expedition. At least you get heat seekers with expedition, but does the xo-16 suck ass.
What makes Viper unique is his attacks, way he talks, and his titan. He attacks from the sky as most Northstar titans do. But he only lands when you're away from him and rises again if you're too close. He talks in code or military style. He uses code like "Voodoo 1" and "We got them in the pipe, 5×5." Not to mention he always alerts his allies where he and his enemy is. And request backup when needed. His Titan is an Apex Predator but what makes it so unique is how simple it is. He is not like Kane who has a grin on his titan. Its just Black, Red, and the Apex Predator logo on the front.
Aw god I love these voice lines. Viper is my favorite pilot since when he isn't teaching you about gravity, son, he's using pretty much ONLY brevity codes so you can hear exactly what is happening. Viper is truly a pilot in two senses. The only thing I can hear that's blatantly off is fox-8 and fox-10, fox codes only go to three? Must be some new types of missiles in Titanfall's time.
Tbf, northstar does use cluster unguided munitions as anti-titan weapons d I'd assume core missiles have a specialized code as well. Just the question what's between that. Does every titan's missile have a specific code? That might explain the missing ones.
I don't know why he'd be calling out a target 31 kilometers away, or what 252 was even referring to in his first bandit call out. I thought 252 might have been the heading but then he says heading 80, which I assume meant 080? He also says angels 28 a lot when you fight him and you're definitely not fighting him at 28000 feet. Taking fire 090 for 20... 20 nautical miles? Damn he's fighting someone beyond visual range in a Titan. Lol don't get me wrong I love this character, especially the voice, but they definitely had him say a bunch of random military aviation brevity without putting much thought into the meaning, a lot of it is pretty nonsensical. xD
@Javers Yeah the angels 28 thing did bother me a bit since the airships are on the verge of hitting terrain during the entire sequence, though I hadn't remembered the distances so the range part of the BRA does seem kind of bizzare. It could be possible the 252 could be a relative grid square if they had some fancy future position system where they tracked with their ship. They didn't put that much thought into it anyway. Thanks for pointing those out.

Viper has to be the best boss. He doesn’t get cocky like the other mercs ESPECIALLY Ash, she got too cocky and died (sorta) He never plays around, he’s always dedicated and serious. He uses military callsigns and actually uses skill which makes him hard to kill. he summons friggen rockets, flight fuel and core recharges outta nowhere
Viper is the soul reason for me being a Northstar main. He didn't show up much if at all on comms throughout the campaign. He dosnt try to insult you every 5 seconds. Or inflate his ego. No gimmicks. And especially the way the boss fight is. The barrage of missles. While tether traps keep you in place. And the rail gun doing tons of damage on every hit. The Northstar is a hell of a titan. Easily the best showcase of any titan in any of the boss fights.
Yeah, I noticed he marks a lot of headings for enemies, but no other pilots we can hear. It's possible Viper is communicating to the IMC fighters (Crows, right?)

I imagine it would’ve been hard to code 3 flying titans for that fight, considering how sporadic viper moves around during it. The character models for the titans would be moving in and out of eachother constantly, which would’ve broken immersion for the player.

I like how unlike the other villains who are all edgy talkative or just outright insane, viper is just an ordinary pilot just trying to do his job to earn his paycheck. He’s just a dude, unlike the other villains.

He has pretty realistic voice lines, and him breathing is a technique astronauts use as well as pilots to not get knocked out due to the g forces

FR Viper really sells the Northstar fantasy- smooth flying, hard hitting, and missles.

I like how unlike the other villains who are all edgy talkative or just outright insane, viper is just an ordinary pilot just trying to do his job to earn his paycheck. He’s just a dude, unlike the other villains.

Mirage used to have a Cloak as part of his Holonova style Ult but it was reworked and now only activates when he's reviving an ally, using a Respawn Beacon to bring a dead ally back, or when he gets downed
Pathfinder's Grapple is the best bet, it's the closest to the Titanfall version of Grapple
