      While i agree with you on Herbie's skill in finding talent, Domi & JDB are so talented they actually discovered Herbie

      @@benda18 that's hilariously wrong. Let's see how many decades they are around. Herbie since the late 50s. Let's see how many soundtracks and classic albums they perform on. So far, zero. Just a siktok distraction. So contrived and fucking lame.

      Well to be fair.. He's just looking for an audience to sell something to. He doesn't care if they are good which is obvious they made Chameleon sound like a train wreck.

      @@SPINNINGMYWHEELS777 I couldn't agree more. A pair of flash-in-the -pans. Herbie has always had an eye for what sells, this looks to me like the musical equivalent of an ageing millionaire with a trophy wife 50 years his junior!
      That said, Domi Degalle was a great young player before she hooked up with Beck, but that's what happens when you go to a place like Berklee too young, before you know who you are as a musician and as a person. I hope she finds her way again. I thought she really had something....

    This is so wonderful to see. It's not the hippest thing jd and Domi have done musically, but to see the older generation so warmly and humbly accepting them into the fold literally brings tears to my eyes. Herbie is such a gracious legend - it is just so much cooler than cool to see this slightly strange but unbelievably wholesome footage of the passing on of such deeply earned musical knowledge

      @@spanqueluv9er her playing with Louis Cole at Berklee it's very Herbie to me , jazz,classical, funk Herbie more jazz heavy her obviously from conservatory more heavy on classical roots but that only helped facilities for jazz and funk, in her instance not everyones , in that video I said in comments sounds like herbie headhunter stuff and his more sophisticated stuff too. She's incredible. Like Herbie going juilliard they have all skills at disposal her site reading is crazy. She doesn't have a miles unfortunately to learn from. That's why Joe zawinul I thought is even better comparison from conservatory. She needs to be pushed with best players, mononeon, thundercat are great but play with Antonio Sanchez from Metheny group type level that type step of musicianship. Her playing is off charts the group conversation and improvisation with players that caliber is what she needs. Needs a weather report ☺️🤙🎶🎼 and catalogue of composition. Love to hear here ideas. The covers are great. Larnell lewis, Michael league, Sanchez obviously older now but guys who play with more eat less chops. Make sense?

      @ryanphelan6861 2 года назад +1

      @@spanqueluv9er I'm assuming you are familiar, more than I am likely, heard covers of Coltrane, Oscar Peterson, to weather report, to mf Doom so lot of musical influences like to hear her with band of equal ability in support perform some of her ideas. It has to be unique such a vast cross section of music. But patient players who play, melody, harmony in an emotive way I hear crazy rhythm more at moment. That's why I think guys with nuance know what not to play as much as what to play would be perfect like larnell, or Michael. Love to hear that. What do you think other than emojis ? Genuinely watching Herbie must be music fan, he just has done this with 100 young talents on various instruments. Think she is really a throwback talent imo.
