I obtained the pictures many years ago from
the Dean in Kilalla, their not the best of quality
but that’s all that’s available of the line. © G. Conmy.
    View looking towards Station
Cliften station after closure. Line lifted at the Galway end.
Apologise for poor quality of photos but that’s the best available
    Thanks for Watching

Thanks for this history video. I spent some time in 2010 tracing the branchline route but found it very difficult. Your video has helped me very much. I liked the brief glimpse of Clifden Station too…I had two Uncles work on the Clifden branch (and one on the Marconi Railway) and I always enjoy seeing photos of the line. Regards, Rob in a Bournemouth, England.

Thank you for your comment. The Killala ine I found very interesting and the bretland train was a bonus. The Clifden station photo was taken when the line had closed. The track at the Galway end was lifted, the track in the remained for a short time.

Like the Western Rail Corridor Galway onto Sligo this section of Railway line should be reopened too to stop 1) Pollution, 2) Car Accidents/Road Deaths & 3) Traffic Jams.
