    I like your comments at the end. I own an Aprilia RSV4 RF and I'm really starting to look more seriously at bikes like this. I'm 48 years old, wife and two teenage kids. I've only ever owned sports bikes with the exception of a Virago 1000 back in the 80's (which was a disaster), but the riding position is starting to get a little old. I love the performance, sound, and aesthetics of the Ape, but I like to keep my license, and getting the most out of the bike is rare. The Diavel is something to consider..........I'm not certain I'm man enough just yet...........

    John and team - very nice review. My take as a Monster 1200s owner who rode the last Diavel is Ducati has created meaningful emotional distance w/the new Diavel supplemented with changed ergonomics, rake (which you mention), and improved rideability. Sitting on it at the NYC show here in the States, the differences are immediately felt, and as CPU UK mentions below, I also thought of the V-Max. I'm looking forward to a go once the S model lands here in the U.S. Keep up the good work.

      They are both kinda lost in the middle between cruiser and sports bike, but yeah, the Diavel leans more to the sporty side while the XDiavel is closer to a normal cruiser. Anyway, they both look BADASS, they ride great and perform amazingly.

      @@benpar8120 Not really constructive criticism when you saying this on other peoples comments is it. Ben, we can only work with the people who want to work with us, Ducati see the value in what we do. Some others prefer conventional media, like works printed in paper. We've recently been on 2 Honda, 2 BMW and a Harley launch, all of those vids will soon be loaded. Also, we have BJ working on a Suzuki SV650, can't get any more grounded than that. Lets look at the last 10 vids we've done, Diavel, Moto Guzzi, Multistrada, SV650, KTM SMC, Yamaha R125, Triumph Speed Twin, Another SV650, Indian and Honda. Looks like you're seeing too much red Ben. The Rocket doesn't stand a chance in any way, the Vmax might be a bit faster on long straights (not as much as you'd think, most of the power difference is eaten up by the weight difference) but as soon as you get to the first corner the Diavel is gone.

    aside from the position of foot pegs, are there any major difference btw this one and the xdiavel?

      fantastic J Very noticeable are the much narrower handle bars, which I prefer.

      I owned a 2016 XDIAVEL S and have recently bought a MY20 1260. Gear box is much better on the new model, riding position is perfect for me (5’10) on the 1260. Used to get numb backside on longer rides on the XDiavel. Both bikes are amazing and i personally like the look of the XDiavel more, the Diavel is better to ride (better balance of comfort with the performance. The 1260 handles just a bit better)

    Sitting down on the new model one thing was apparent: the much narrower handle bars.

    Great bike made better then. I imagine this as being like my little BMW F800 but with a hell of a lot more grunt and Italian style.

      @T0BBi94 5 лет назад

      I would say your F800 is the complete opposite of the Diavel. The F800 has weak Hp parallell twin, narrow tires for offroad capabilities, a high seating position, soft suspension and German design.

    • @gerardmontgomery280
      @gerardmontgomery280 5 лет назад

      The engine runs very lean so a power commamder will give you a lot more grunt. It's the F800s so low seat and clipons. Likewise it has 16inch wheels and BT023s so not really skinny off road tyres. Other than that youre bang on mate. It is German styled, the right kind of ugly :)

    I'm actually considering selling my 2018 GT350 and getting a cheaper mustang and THIS!!! I had the 2015 Diavel and I missed it ever since I sold it.

    If you would take this to a track day, do you think it would be a great day, or would you think -I wish I hade a sportsbike/naked now instead? And I'm talking fun not timetrack comparison.

  • @siraff4461
    @siraff4461 5 лет назад

    How did we get to the point of a 1/4 tonne naked being considered light? A Fazer thou was a bit of a fatty and was still 20kg (wet) lighter than this. An SV1000 was 32kg (wet) lighter.
    250kg sounds pretty heavy to me.

      Sv1000 and a Fazer?
      Your a world apart up on this 🙈

    • @siraff4461
      @siraff4461 5 лет назад

      @@gingerbrown Go on then - lets hear why a bike that's 10+ years newer and billed as some kind of sports naked needs to be much heavier than old, cheap commuter bikes.
      250kg is hayabusa weight on a two pot naked.
      Oh and before you say it's because it's fast remember a 1290R is only 205kg wet.

    • @gingerbrown
      @gingerbrown 5 лет назад

      @@siraff4461 this is classed under a muscle bike fella, not a naked, it's gone an extra 200cc, a Vmax comes in at 260KGs, GSX1400 230kgs
      Your talking a different class, and a decade apart 🤦‍♂️
