What's it like to ride the new Ducati Diavel 1260 or 1260S? Rory Reid heads over to Marbella to swing a leg over this epic new machine on some stunning roads!
I went from a 1299s to a Gen 2 Diavel.... and I love it. I normally swap bikes every year and I have now owned this for 3 and really don’t want / can’t find another bike that makes me smile as much as the Diavel. Add a shorty exhaust like I did and it’s perfection. See you are bikestop soon
I got to test ride the 2020 model a few weeks ago. Overall, the bike is amazing, but like you said, the throttle response is quite twitchy. If you roll off the throttle, the engine braking kicks in hard, which I personally didn’t like. Of course, I’d still buy one though. Great review.
This bike is so easy to chose for. If you a sporty kind of guy and you want to take bends with the knee, no. In ALL other cases, this is one of the best overall bikes. That’s it.
Awesome video from the devil! Beautiful shooting, dynamic editing and quite accurate comments! If you had more worked subtitles it would be appreciated 👍 Massive V from France ✌
Good video as expected. I have the X Diavel S, even more if a techno cruiser with foot pegs further forward and belt driven in a stunning iceberg white. Just an awesome bike for going out and enjoying the roads 👌
I own one of these, 2020 model, stunning looking bike and overall I'm happy with it but the low revs throttle response is not just poor, its abysmal. I've finally found a dyno operator who has been able to sort it out for me but, it has been a nightmare for him to do and he said it should never have been released with fueling that bad, just to meet the EU 5 emissions directive. He never wants to do another one he said. A nightmare from start to finish and so difficult to work on, even taking the fuel tank off was a major headache. I pick her up tomorrow and weather permitting l hope to have a run out on her so we will see what the improvements are.
Difficult to advise you on what bike to buy next. For personally me, I’d buy it!... One thing not many are mentioning are the much shorter handlebars compared to the old model, which I very much prefer. It was the first thing I noticed upon sitting on the bike.
I don’t like the idea of replacing a 240mm rear tire every 3 to 5 thousand miles ($250+labor) and I’m not sure if I can even do the oil myself. But other than parts and maintenance costs the bike would be my first choice in the standard class. I also heard it has about 130 mile maximum range between fill ups. That’s not great.
I appreciate the video one of my bikes was the MV Agusta Brutale 910R... An incredible machine but the LIGHT-SWITCH throttle... That had no RPM between 1300 and 2700 (no kidding about that)... Became impossible to ride at any speed, especially around town and now you are making me afraid that this bike has something similar. Of course I imagine there is a way to map that to fix the issue because you are not the first one to mention it.... Of course is a heavy bike, which is more forgiving with poor throttle control than a light liter-class machine. Time will tell, I suppose thanks for the great video... Appreciate you sharing with us
Its not as on-off as your MV sounds. Certainly fine in a straight line. Just make sure your throttle and speed are set before corner entry otherwise things become very eye-opening 😀
@@PoetryInMotion I appreciate the clarification of that issue because it certain the reason why I sold that Brutale , which I otherwise loved. Of course the 240 rear tire on the Diavel is a help in that cornering situation. The funny thing is, MV Agusta bikes are still known for that ON/OFF throttle issue
The gold doesn’t suit it. I had the gen2 previous model in Matt black, very cool but hard going and would, like a little red voice on your shoulder, make you want to ride faster and faster, it was just happier ‘on it’. This one seems more chilled, not sure if that suits the bike or makes it better but does make it easier and more enjoyable which must be a good thing I guess.
Why are you saying that is 7bhp more powerfull than the older model? Is exactly 5bhp less powerfull than Gen2 Ducati Diavel. XDiavel is not Diavel. Xdiavel is a totaly different bike.
I think you're knees will be closer to your elbows yes this does pose a question as this bike is more suited for the women for the ride height being shorter . Like I said Ducati needs proper information from the real riders than from people who are sellers promoters and law abiding citizens I own the 2011 model and won't get another until they sort the real Devil out
Why wouldn't you use urban mode at low speeds/around traffic? Sounds like that's exactly what it's for. Oh right you have to make do with 100hp, how are you supposed to live with just 100hp to doddle around at 30mph..
I think youve missed the point here, boss. Ask yourself: What if you’re out on the open road and you don’t want a snappy throttle. Do you want to have to put it in urban mode and restrict the power?
@@lushanyue8761 reliability in the 80' OK but not nowadays. Ducati is on of the first moto constructor proposing maintenance spaced each 15. 000 kms. Not less reliability then other constructors. Don't worry ;)

Rory Reid. The only RUclips reviewer I've seen that actually pronounced the word 'Diavel' well. For that alone, it's a👍 from me.
Came for the diavel, stayed and liked for the poetry ❤️
My surprise when Rory came into frame and that familiar voice spoke poetry haha great review.
Its cool Rory is into bikre and cars.

Considering a move from my Multistrada to a new Diavel and this really helped. Love your presentation style, subbed.
I commute on my every day I love it and in the process of trading up to the 1260s! You won't regret it rory

All of that is easily adjustable in the settings though.

The rap in the start was great 😂🔥
Hi Mate, This is the first time I come across you and I love your review of the Diavel. You keep it simple and to the point, you have a new follower.

Look up Ducati spacers, it’ll help with that a lot.
Thank you, taken a look and looks like it would do the trick 👍🏻
Would love to see your motorcycle reviews on Top Gear. Also, which Dainese jacket is that? Very cool color combo. More reviews, please!
Would be nice to see your take on the xdiavel
Interesting review. Could be a potential replacement for my Monster 1200 Stripe now it has been deemed a total loss 😔 Ouch.

Rory, just found your channel as I like the Diavel but looks like you’ve gone quiet, what happened in the end, what bike did you end up with?
I could definitely fancie one of these
Hi.
In your opinion is this a proper bike for a beginner?
Is it good as a first bike?
Thanks.
Greatings from Romania
Ofcus not, but it will be my first
I think Ducati designers need to talk with me here in NZ I would give this model at least one more advantage over any other bike in this category
Did u make the Diavel your new daily?

Can i buy this bike at a first bike if i drive it on 100hp mode
Don’t! Buy something smaller & cheaper as your first! Then upgrade after a year
