I pretty much never watch all 35 minutes of long videos, but I loved all of this. I've wanted a Ducati since I was 15 (25 now) and this is my hands down dream bike. I've ridden metric cruisers for years, and am ready for something more aggressive and with a little more go. Next year when I finish grad school, I need one.
Bought the 2022 Diavel 1260, essentially the same bike just in matt black. I optioned the termi exhaust and the quickshifter.................wow. It's seriously fast 0-150 km/h. Handles so well, easy to ride, stable and extremely comfortable. The brakes are first class. My last bike was 2017 Ninja 1000abs (sport tourer). The Diavel is more comfortable and I was surprised that it gave me better wind protection (I'm 178cm). I use the cruise control all the time, it's awesome. They aren't cheap to buy but honestly it's definitely worth it. It's a quality machine and makes you feel amazing riding it. Gets looks from men and women alike, I absolutely love it.
Just bought my 2020 Ducati Diavel 1260S to pick up in a week and the videos like this makes me happy to own such a beautiful bike. Much appreciated for your vids
I have a Ducati XDiavelS 2022 it definitely will lift the front wheel without any problems. Not many cruisers that weigh that much that under acceleration will lift the front of the bike with no effort. It's all part of the power. Which is crazy. Effortless.
I’ve gotten lucky with Sanford Ducati as they have been generous enough to let me test ride any of the Ducati’s they have and that new 2019 Diavel is fantastic! If I decide to trade in my M821, I think I would replace it with the new Diavel! It’s so refined, has so much smoothness/consistency and way more power than I’d ever need for the road. It fits perfectly into my riding style that I’ve come to find I enjoy. Great first ride! As for your question I think manufactures should work on making the best product of what they have. Bikes are so powerful now you can’t use it all on the road and most people can’t tap into it so improve on everything else for safety and more bike tech!
Man that aint a cruiser. Ducati doesn't even list it as a cruiser. Their XDiavel is their cruiser with forward controls and more of an actual cruiser. I have always seen the Diavel considered a muscle bike....
Both are muscle bikes, just that the Diavel is a little more to the sports side while the XDiavel leans more to the cruiser side, I should know, my current ride is a 2012 Diavel Carbon and I LOVE THE DAMNED THING!
I ride a '14 Valkyrie. Hella sport cruiser in my opinion. And I had an '07 Hayahusa for ten years before my Valkyrie. Both of these bikes I like to think of them as nimble as can be for me. Both attack curves with ease and roll out of them with ease. Would love to try the Diavel Abs curve assist.
The button that locks the steering, also starts the electrics. No need to press that recessed, circle button. DRL is only available on the S only. The DRL on the S operates independently from the dipped beams.
The new rocket 3R 2020 model is going kill every bike out there. If is 40kg lighter and now has 2500cc with all the electronics to keep that power planted on the road. Cant wait to ride the new rocket 3R
I personally feel like refining the way a bike is made versus the power plants. I have only ever ridden Harleys so it would be nice to see some major developments on certain things
Chase, when you go buy pants, the size of your inseam is the 2nd number of the size. So if you wear a size 32-35, you have a 32 inch waist and a 35 inch inseam.
About the outro question: Looking at the market right now, I think that manufacturers should continue rafining there machines and push for inovation, such as form, riding position, style and electric alternatives. Power for power sake is more of a braging right more than someting needed.
I tried one a week ago, it had the Termi exhaust and the dealer had removed DB-killer, this thing sounded AWESOME! And my reaction when i twisted the throttle for the first time on the open road was exactly like yours at 11:40 :D I am SO tempted to just buy it, but the basic version is ~48000 USD here in Denmark...
I once heard the diavel was going to be called the "mega monster" or something like that, and somehow that makes the bike seem way more cool. Being souped up version of the monster. Love that sound, even with the stock exhaust
From the side, especially with no rider, the Diavel looks more like a sport bike. But seeing you on it, especially in the shots where we see you from the front, I can definitely see it as a cruiser
You know, I don't think I've ever seen someone out riding a Diavel before. In all the time I've been riding, I haven't ever seen one that wasn't on a showroom floor. They must be pretty rare.
It is rare, as the service is costly af. Any damage to the parts or you need a replacement you need to go to Ducati and wait for the part to come. Its costly and their is not much after market options for diavel. But it is what it is, it's a luxury performance cruiser bike.
I know this is old, but I’ve never seen one, until last weekend. I went to the Indian dealership, and right next door is another dealership. It’s called “Ride Now” I think 🤔. That’s when I ran into one of these. It’s a 2022, blacked out just how I like my bikes. I’am a bagger type of guy, but I’d like to test ride one of these. I’am not into sport type bikes, but this one just looked different when I saw it.
I personally went for the XDiavel. I'm getting old and the feet forward pegs just felt better for me:-) Just took her out for my first ride today. It will take a bit of getting used too, your right you have to find the right revs or she shakes quite badly. Got to run her in before I can see what she can really do, can't wait. I can see it taking all my spare money going forward but she's worth it. Still got my old Rocket. I plain turning the Ducati into a single seater and if I need to take a pillion then it will be the Rocket 111. Sorted!
I did a nice 45 minute demo ride on a Diavel during bike week like ten years ago and have wanted one ever since. Odds are very likely that I'll have a 1260 S in my garage by next spring! Btw, the Ducati people told me it's pronounced Dee-ah-VEL (emphasis on the last syllable), not Die-AH-vel (emphasis on the middle syllable).
If that bike didn’t have such a high cost of maintenance I would take out a loan to get one. When European manufacturers start making bikes with Honda levels of reliability and ease of maintenance I will be converted but until then I’m sticking with Japanese bikes because they just take a lickin and keep on tickin. It’s hard to get away from the big 4 once you have lived with such reliability and ease of maintenance. Because taking your bike to the Ducati dealer for maintenance is like a kick in the balls when you find out their hourly rate. I has a monster for 2 years and the dezmo maintenance gave me PTSD.
You want the Termignone more than the S model package. So I went for the standard version with termignone (3k) wich lmakes this bike loose 13 pounds and gain almost 10 hp and a 10 NM torque.
Smart man! Add the quick shifter for 200bucks and you get a much better bike. The breaks on the 1260 are more than good enough and after adjusting the suspension it rocks!. The only way id see the Ohlins and M50 breaks being justified for the price is if you wanted to track it. In that case, you chose the wrong Ducati lol
that's a good point. however, the Rocket 3 is a good 50 kilos higher in kerb weight than the Diavel. might be a completely different ballgame in the handling department. I'd really like to know how the Diavel 1260 performs in the 'roasted legs' department. Ducati's are known to be mercurial. Pun totally intended..
That guy was good, made me smile. Nice ride dude. This machine was the opposite of the Duke I just bought. The Duke has won but it was a tough battle. Happy riding.....
Great video! I am thinking about Diavel 1260 or Harley Sportster S. What would you go with? Price difference is not my concern. FYI, I have CB1000R 2018 and want to trade in with one of those. Thanks.
Being a beginner on a 150cc dual sport that barely makes it to 65/70 mph, i don't find the wind so bad at said speed. Maybe it's because i'm used to it since it's the first bike that i ride, i fear that when I get a bigger and better bike I'll get used to that and then im not gonna be able to handle any kind of wind whatsoever.
its the whole muscle cruiser. vmax, vrod, xdiavel, rocket III.. to me, these are good looking (or super ugly), great torque and hp which makes things seem not right but totally right, and then they give you a weird confidence with a lot of things and you just feel great and giggly on it.. I know odd.. but when I first got on my vrod I was like I loved the look and I hope I loved the everything and BAMN.. LOVE IT ALL... that torque, that funky lean, and then the noise especially when you get a good exhaust.. and like you said how comfortable it is to be a pretty good all around moto. Now yes the vrod is not as powerful, nor can lean as far but I still love to scrape pegs, and just pull out of turn... glad you had fun and maybe you should try some other muscle cruisers... or muscle bikes.. also look at shadetrees video to figure out what other ones are out there. cheers.
Love that bike! I wish you rode it in some canyons! For the people that hate wind when riding! They need to drive a car then! I love the wing! I love how it keeps me cool and feels! Hence the reason i ride a naked bike
Hey Chase!! enjoyed the video, thank you so much, the bike looks awesome but can you do a 360 walk around of the bike when your on it. I mean you could do it after every sound check on the beginning of the video just so we could picture ourselves as you when we are on the bike, like a fashion sense kind of thing where you imagine how you would look on the bike. Really hope you give this idea some thought, again thank you for the first ride.
Looking at you riding on this Diavel is really really awesome cos the sitting position makes you kind of so great, chest open wide, macho snd aggressive hihi.. tq bro.. 😬💪✊

Who remembers the first diavel Chase reviewed. That video made me fall in love with this bike.
That video was the reason I bought the bike a few weeks later.

Definitely the Triumph Rocket 3 is the bike that competes with this. I think I heard other motorcycle reviews call them muscle bikes.
Yea, if they put in more work into their current bikes, they can give us the best of both worlds, power/driving performance
If your a sport bike rider this is your only cruiser option. The thing eats twisties. I love it
These are my favourite reviews of any on RUclips.
Chase, the second number on the size of your pants is the inseam. If you wear 38/32 pants, 32 is your inseam.

Just saying had a 1260 multi the engine from second entering a highway will make it hard to hold on. Especially when you get into the 9-11k powerband
The other bike your describing would be the Xdiavel that more of a long distance riding.
What do you use ? So that you cant see the speed? Different filter or ? On the gopro 💥🤘
Chase, have you test drive the Kawasaki Vulcan S 650 yet? I would think you would like it
Most favorite looking bike ever!! But would never own one. Also see if you can spot the spelling fail in the ridge ad :)
hello from London/UK watch you quite alot and last time i watch you did a Ducait Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak, how do you feel in between these two ? i know they are different bikes but like power delivery , comfort? if money wasn't issue , which one you pick ?
The music is insane.
If you could do a code that worked for the mtn motorsports in CA, that would be sick. Cuz i wanna buy a bike and they have what i want. And you did a first ride on it
There’s a xdiavel that has the forward foot pegs that u we’re talking about also instead of a chain it’s a belt
Cool I was thinking about one of them but got the can am Ryker
Can-Am ouch, get ready for lots of service/shop time
As long as it can move and is functional, 0-60 isn’t alway needed
